of Lottie Welsh in the said area be
abolished.

Importation of Flour

NOTICE NO. 1 OF 1955.

With effect from 1st April 1955, Government will
discontinue the bulk importation and distribution of
flour.
2. Import Licences will be issued to traders, on ap-
plication, for the importation of the flour requirements
of this Presidency.
3. All flour imported must continue to be "E" Grade
for "Bakers" and enriched in accordance with the
following:-
MINIMUM MAXIMUM
Thiamine 2.0 2.5 milligrams for ea. lb. flour
Biboflavine 1.2 1.5 ,, ,, ,, ,.
Niacine 16.0 20.0 ,, ,, ,,
Iron 13.0 16.5 ,. ,, ,,
With Calcium Carbo-

4. A Chemist'q certificate, duly notarized, showing
analysis of the flour and enrichment standard in respect
of each shipment should be made available on request
by the Supply Officer who reserves the right to arrange
for samples to be drawn and analysed on his behalf. "Vita-
min Enriched Flour" must be stencilled on each bag.
5. The local selling prices of flour and bread will
continue to be controlled; increases in the present
prices will not be authorised except such increases are
warranted, and will not be considered in relation to any
one particular shipment.

Notice is hereby given that the Cen-
tral Housing and Planning Authority
have passed a resolution for the adop-
tion of a Scheme by the owners of
Farm Estate to be known as the Farm
Estate Development Scheme within
the Parish of St. Anne, Sandy Point.
The resolution and draft scheme
may be inspected at the Office of the
Central Housing and Planning
Authority during office hours.
Any representations or objections
thereto should be sent in writing to
the Secretary, Central Housing and
Planning Authority, East Square
Street, Basseterre, within fourteen
days of the date of this notice.

An Ordinance to amend further the
Income Tax Ordinance, 1945.
ENACTED by the Legislature of
Saint Christopher Nevis and Anguilla as
follows:-
I. This Ordinance may be cited as
the Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance,
1955, and shall be read as one with the
Income Tax Ordinance, 1945, as amended,
hereinafter referred to as the Principal
Ordinance.
2. The Principal Ordinance is here-
by amended by the insertion therein,
next after section 19 of the following
section as section I9A:-

son who has covenanted for the
payment of a fixed annuity or
other annual sum for a period
of at least five consecutive years
in favour of any charitable or
educational institution of a
public character approved for
such purpose by the Governor
in Council, there shall be allow-
ed a deduction of the annual

Commence- 3. This Ordinance shall be deemed
to have come into operation on the First
day of January, 1955.

OBJECTS AND REASONS

As it is felt that gifts to charities and
educational institutions should be encour-
aged, this Bill seeks to provide for exemp-
tion from income tax in the case of gifts
of annuities or other annual sums which
are secured by covenant for a period of
at least five consecutive years in favour
of any charitable or educational institu-
tion of a public character and approved
for such purpose by the Governor in
Council.
2. The provisions of this Bill should
permit exemption from income tax in
cases where gifts which fall within the
provisions of Clause 2 of the Bill are
made to the University College of the
West Indies.
