Statutory Rules and Orders
1955, No. 2.

Proclamation dated the 14th day of January, 1955,
declaring Wednesday the 16th day of February,
1955, to be a public holiday throughout the Presi-
dency.
BY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PRESIDENCY OF
SAINT CHRISTOPHER NEVIS AND ANGUILLA.

WHEREAS by section 6 of the Public Holidays
Act, 1954 (No. 19 of 1954) it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the officer for the time being administering
the Government of the Presidency, from time to time,
with the advice of the Executive Council of the Presi-
dency, to issue a Proclamation appointing a special day
to be reserved as a public holiday in the Presidency :
AND WHEREAS the officer for the time being
administering the Government of the Presidency, with
the advice of the Executive Council of the Presidency,
considers it expedient that Wednesday the 16th day
of February, 1955, should be reserved and kept as a
public holiday throughout the Presidency.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1 do, with the advice of
Executive Council of the Presidency, in exercise of the

powers conferred by the said section of the said Act,
appoint Wednesday the 16th day of February, 1955, as a
special day to be reserved as a public holiday throughout
the Presidency.

And all Her Majesty's loving subjects in the said
Presidency and all others whom it may concern are
hereby required to take due notice hereof and to give
their ready obedience accordingly.

GIVEN at the Government House, Saint
Christopher, this 14th day of January, 1955,
in the third year of Her Majesty's reign.
