Proclamation dated 7th December, 1954, appointing
the time and place for a session of the Legisla-
tive Council of the Presidency.
BY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PRESIDENCY OF
SAINT CHRISTOPHER, NEVIS AND ANGUILLA.

WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of subsec-
tion (1) of section 25 of the Saint Christopher, Nevis and
Anguilla Constitution and Elections Ordinance, 1952
(No. 5 of 1952) the Governor by proclamation dated the
17tbh day of November, 1954, prorogued the Legislative
Council of the Presidency of Saint Christopher, Nevis
and Anguilla until such further date as may be
appointed, by proclamation of the Administrator under
the provisions of section 18 of the said Ordinance, for the
first sitting in the next session of the said Council:
AND WHEREAS it is provided by section 18 of the
said Ordinance that the sessions of the said Council
shall be held at such times and places as the Adminis-
trator shall from time to time by proclamation appoint:
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that session of
the said Council should now be held :

NOW, THEREFORE, I do by this my proclamation
hereby appoint that a session of the Legislative Council
of the Presidency of Saint Christopher, Nevis and
Anguilla shall be held and that the first meeting thereof
shall commence with a sitting of the Council at the
Court House in the town of Basseterre in the aforesaid
Presidency at 11 o'clock in the forenoon on Friday the
17th day of December, 1954, for the despatch of public
AND the Members of the said Council a~d all
other Her Majesty's Officers and loving subjectsin the
said Presidency and all those whom it may concern are
hereby required to take due notice hereof and to give
their ready obedience accordingly.
GIVEN at the Government House, Saint
Christopher, this 7th day of December,
1954, in the third year of Her Majesty's reign.

granted Mr. G. P. Boon leave of ab-
sence from duties as Chairman of the
Forestry Board and as a member of
the Central Housing Authority from
30th November to 15th December,

Mr. E. Armatrading, Officer Class
XII, Fireman, Fire Brigade Station,
resigned with effect from 30th Novem-
7th December, 1954.
His Honour the Administrator has
been pleased to appoint Henry Mait-
land King, Esquire to be lieutenant in
the St. Christopher Nevis and An-
guilla Defence Force and also Officer
Commanding the St. Kitts Nevis
Grammar School Cadet Corps with
effect from 4th December, 1954.

It is notified for general information
that the closing date for receiving ap-
plications for the vacant post of Ad-
ministrative Assistant, Regional Eco-
nomic Committee, which was adver-
tised recently is extended from 1st
December, 1954 to 24th December,

The Foreign Compensation (Hungary)
(Registration) (Amendment) Order
1954 (S.I. 1954 No. 1371.)
The purpose of this Order in Council is to enable the
Foreign Compensation Commission to receive applications
to register details concerning claims relating to nationali-
zation or expropriation of British property, or interests in
property, in Hungary.
The Foreign Compensation Commission already have
the names and addresses of a number of persons who have
written to the Foreign Office, and application forms will be
sent to them at those addresses. If, owing to changes of
address, the application forms are not received within a
short time, those applicants should write to the Secretary,
Foreign Compensation Commission, 1, Princes Gate, Lon-
don, S. W. 7, giving their names and addresses and stating
under which Order in Council they wish to apply for regis-
tration. Other persons who wish to apply should write
direct to the Secretary, Foreigu Compensation Commission.
It is emphasized that no assurance can be given that
an application, or the registration of a claim under the
abovementioned Order, will necessarily be followed by
negotiation by Her Majesty's Government in respect of
that claim with any foreign Government, or that any com-
pensation will be obtained. If, in due course, negotiations
are undertaken concerning these or any other categories of
claims with a foreign Novernment information contained in
claims registered under this Order may be of assistance to
Her Majesty's Government.
No application to register other categories of claims in
respect of Hungary should be sent to the Foreign Compen-
sation Commission. Arrangements for obtaining informa-
tion about claims against Hungary which are not within
the scope of the present Order, will be announced later by
the appropriate Department of Her Majesty's Government.
Notwithstanding the foregoing the Commission shall
not receive any claim which has not reached the Commis-
sion on or before the thirty first day of December 1954.
