Post of Assistant Superintendent
ot Public Works, Grenada
Applications are invited for the post of Assistant
Superintendent of Public Works, Grenada.
2. The post which is pensionable, carries a salary
scale of $2,880 x $120 to $4,080 per annum. The actual
point of entry in the scale will be determined in the
light of experience and individual qualifications.
3 The appointment, subject to a medical certifi-
cate of fitness which is required to be furnished before-
hand, will be for a probationary period of one year in the
first instance, and may be terminated during that period
by either party by one month's notice in writing.
4. A transport allowance is payable at the current
rate of $732 per annum and the officer will be required
to keep a car for the performance of his duties. Govern-
ment will be prepared to grant an interest free loan to
the officer for the purchase of a car.

They should also furnish copies of testimonials (which will not be
returned to the applicant) certified as true copies by a Justice of
the Peace or a Minister of Religion or Head of a Government
8. Qualifications-The officer is expected to possess
the standard qualification of a civil Engineer, or its
equivalent, and have at least three years working ex.
perience on such Public Works. A working knowledge
of Land and Engineering surveys is essential. He will
be required to assist the Superintendent of Public
Works generally and to deputise for him when required
to do so.
9. The officer will be required to carry out all
types of Public Works and such other duties as may
from time to time be required by the Superintendent of
Public Works.
10. He will be subject to Her Majesty's Colonial
Regulations and to the General Orders of the Colony.
11. Applications should be addressed to the

Office, Grenada, to reach him not later than 15th
December, 1954.

Regional Economic Committee of The
British West Indies, British Guiana
and British Honduras

The Regional Economic Committee invites applica-
tions from suitably qualified persons for the vacant
post of

at an annual salary in the scale $3,360 x 240-$3,840
per annum. Passages on assumption and termination
of appointment for the Administrative Assistant and
family up to five in all from and to the place of
engagement will be paid by the Committee. The post
does not at present carry pension or superannuation

2. The appointment will be for a period up to the
31st December, 1955 in the first instance.

3. Candidates should possess administrative
experience in relation to trade and commercial matters
and preference will be given to candidates holding
special qualifications in those fields. Candidates should
be proficient in the assembly and presentation of statis-
tical material, publicity material, etc. The person
selected will be required, inter alia, to assist in regional
surveys and the collation of material for publications
and Information Bulletins of the Secretariat.

4. The Committee reserves the right to fill the
post by invitation if no suitable application is received.

5. Applications furnishing full details of candi-
date's education, special qualifications and experience,
together with supporting documents and names of two
referees should be addressed to the Executive Secretary,
Regional Economic Committee, Hastings House, Barba-
dos, to reach not later than the 1st December, 1954.

The Motor Omnibus (Conductor's Licence Fee) (Amendment)
Order, 1954, dated the 28th day of April 1954, made by the
Governor in Council under Section 7 (3) of the Vehicles and
Road Iraffic Ordinance, 1949 (No. 20 of 1949)


1. CITATION This Order may be cited as the Motor Om-
nibus (Conductor's Licence Fee) (Amendment) Order, 1954,

2. AMENDMENT. The First Schedule to the Vehicles and
Road Traffic Ordinance, 1949 (No 20 of 1949) shall be amended
by the substitution of the fee "$1.20" for the fee "24c." appearing
in the second column of the said Schedule opposite the item "9.
Motor Omnibus Conductor's Licence".

Made by the Governor in Council the 28th day of April 1954.
