Proclamation dated the 15th Swptember 1953, prorogu-
ing the Legislative Council of tl~e Presidency.

A PROCLAMATION..

Governor.
WHEREAS,the Legislative Council of the Presi-
-dency of SaiuntiChristopher, Nevis and Anguilla has been
duly constituted under the'. provisions of the..,aint
Christopher, Nevis and Augailla Constitution And Blec-
tious Ordinance, 1952(No. 5/1952): .. *) '
AND WHEREAS by proclamation buder the hand
of th0e governor dated the 8th day of October, 1952
issued under the provisions of subsection (1) of
section 25 of 'the said Ordinance, the safi CUdoncil was
first summoned to meet' in session for: tbe despatch of
public business at such time and place at 'may be ap-
pointed under section 18 of the saidJ"Odt1a'ne :
AND WHEREAS 'by proclamation dated the 30th
day ,of April. 1953, a session of tbo 'said Council was
appointed to be held a,t eleven o'clock in the forenoon
at the Court House in the -lown, of Basseterre in the .1
aforesaid Presidency on Friday the 29th day of May, '
1953:
AND WUEREAS'in pursuance of the aforesaid
proclamations the said Council duly met in session on the
29th day of May, 1953:
AND WHEREAS it is provided, inter alia, by,,sub.
section (1) of section 25 of the said Ordinance that the
governorr may at any time, by proclamation, prorogue the
said Legislative Council:
AND WHEREAS it appears expedient to prorogue
the said Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers in

me vested as hereinbefore recited I do hereby prorogue
the Legislative Council of the Presidency of Saint
Christopher, Nevis and Anguilla until such further date
as may be appointed, by Proclamation of the Adminis-
trator under the provisions of section 18 of the said
Ordinance, for the first sitting in the next session of the
said Council.
And the members of the said Council and all other
Her Majesty's Officers, and loving subjects in the said
Presidency and all those whom it may concern are here-
by required to take due notice hereof and to govern
themselves accordingly.
GIVEN at the Government House, Saint Christo-
pher, this 15th day of September. 1953, in the
second year of Her Majesty's reign.

Proclamation dated 16th September, 1953, appointing
the time and place for a session of the Legisla-
tive Council of the Presidentcy.

By the Acting Administrator of the Presidency of
Saint Christopher, Nevis and Anguilla.
A PROCLAMATION.

Acting Administrator.

WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of sub-
section (1) of section 25 of the Saint Christopher, Nevis
and Anguilla Constitution and Elections Ordinance,
1952 (No. 5 of 1952) the Governor by proclamation dated
the 15th day of September, 1953, prorogued the Legisla-
tive Council of the Presidency of Saint Christopher,
Nevis and Anguilla until such further date as may be
appointed, by proclamation of the Administrator under
the provisions of section 18 of the said Ordinance, for
the first sitting in the next session of the said Council:

AND WHEREAS it is provided by section 18 of
the said Ordinance that the sessions of the said Council
shall be held at such times and places as the Adminis-
trator shall from time to time by proclamation
appoint :
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that a session
of the said Council should now be held :

NOW, THEREFORE, I do by this my proclama-
tion hereby appoint that a session of the Legislative
Council of the Presidency of Saint Christopher, Nevis
and Anguilla shall be held and that the first meeting
thereof shall commence with a sitting of the Council at
the Court House in the town of Basseterre in the afore-
said Presidency at 11 o'clock in the forenoon on
Wednesday the 30th day of September, 1953, for the
despatch of public business.
AND the Members of the said Coancil and all other
Her Majesty's Officers, Ministers and loving subjects in the
said Presidency and all those whom it may concern are
hereby required to take due notice hereof and to give
their ready obedience accordingly.
GIVEN at the Government House, Saint Christo-
pher, this 16th day of September, 1953, in the
second year of Her Majesty's reign.
