mittee with effect from July

The following arrangements and
signals which will be made in respect
of a hurricane in the vicinity of St.
Kitts are published for general infor-
mation :-
(a) (i) On receipt of information that
a hurricane is approaching
in the direction of St Kitts
there will be flown from the
flag staff at Fort Thomss and
on the Bay Front one red flag
with a black centre; one
rocket will also be fired.
(ii) If the information is received
at night one rocket will be
(b) (i) On receipt of definite inform-
ation that the hurricane may
be expected to strike the
island two flags as above will
be flown in daylight, and
three rockets will be fired.
(ii) If such information is received
at night three rockets will be
(c) If the hurricane should
change its course after either
one or both of the above
signals has been given, a
blue flag will be flown in
daylight on each of the flag-
stafis, as soon as all danger
has passed.
(d) The Telephone Excaange will,
so far as is practicable, notify
all subscribers on the ap-
proach of a hurricane. The
Police Force will disseminate
the information to others.

2. The Public are, however, re-
quested not to wait for these signals
before taking the necessary precau-
tions whenever the well known signs
of an approaching hurricane are ob-
served, as it is not improbable that

telegraphic news may for some reason
be delayed.
