Dear Reverend Zimmerman:

Today I mailed you the positive microfilm of the Journal of the
Bivouac, No.1, Florida Veterans of the Blue and the Gray. We had
to send the negative off to have the positive made, and it just
came back.

I talked to Dr. Patrick about the valuation of the Journal. It
is extremely difficult to evaluate manuscript material, because there
are no guides, as in the case of rare books. However, we agreed that
$25.00 would be a fair estimate of its value.

We are very grateful to you for giving the Journal to the Yonge
Library of Florida History. It will be preserved in our vault for
its protection, and it will always be available for the use of the
serious student of Florida History. This is the kind of material
that we are so desirous of finding and preserving, and we do ap-
preciate your making it possible for us to have it.

I am sorry that I did not get to talk to you the day you came in
with Mr. West. I do hope you will come back and let me take you on
a tour of the Yonge Library, and show you some of the outstanding
acquisitions Mr. Yonge Has made over the years.
