The series was supported with a grant from the Florida Department of Education. Herschel Connor introduces the Florida Future program with a set of questions. How much progress is the state making in its fight against crime? How should the new Constitution change the office of Governor? How will Florida be different as it becomes a two party state? How will urban control of the legislature change Florida? The guest on this program is Claude Kirk, Governor of Florida. The interviewer Jack Detweiler questions Governor Kirk about a new state constitution, crime in Florida, changes in the political climate of Florida, and changes that Governor Kirk has implemented during his time in office. Governor Kirk discusses the problems with being a lame duck governor since Florida is a one term state, the establishment of a planning department for the state, and his efforts to connect with the citizens of Florida.
