The dealership is located at en-US 1215 N. Federal Highway in Lake Park. en-US Contact him at en-USwww.earlstewarttoyota.com, en-US call 561-358-1474, fax 561-658-0746 or en-US emailen-US earl@estoyota.com.en-USIen-USf you look down at the bottom of en-US virtually every car advertisement online, en-US on TV, YouTube, Facebook, or the en-US newspaper, youll see some fine print. en-US Sometimes you literally cannot read the en-US print because it is so small. On TV, the time en-US its displayed is only a few seconds and en-US impossible to read. The disclaimers you en-US read below were taken from car dealer en-US advertisements. I didnt make any of these en-US up. Basically, what these disclaimers do is to en-US totally negate the validity of all of the prices en-US and payments the car dealers are advertisen-US -en-US ing. The prices and payments are almost en-US always much higher when you factor in the en-US almost invisible fine print.en-US Combining a very short lease term with a en-US high down payment. Nothing sells cars like en-US low monthly payments. A car dealer can en-US make a monthly lease payment as low as he en-US wants by both reducing the number of en-US months of the lease and increasing the en-US down payment. A recent advertisement for en-US an SUV for $19,999 or just $199 per month. en-US In the fine print it says 27-month lease and en-US $3,000 down plus a $799 dealer fee. Down en-US payments of $10,000 and 24 months are not en-US uncommon.en-US Plus, dealer installed options The price en-US you see advertised in the paper is not the en-US full price. This loophole allows the dealer to en-US tack on thousands of dollars in overpriced en-US accessories to the price that was advertised. en-US Virtually all car dealers pre-install these en-US vastly overpriced accessories.en-US With approved credit. Sometimes they en-US just use the initials WAC for with accepten-US -en-US able credit. The lease payment or purchase en-US payment you see advertised is based on en-US someone with very, very good credit. en-US Sometimes the ad will specify a minimum en-US Beacon score of 750 or even 760. Most en-US people dont have a credit score that high. en-US This payment gets you in the door and then en-US they tell you your credit isnt good enough en-US to qualify for that payment and demand a en-US higher down payment.en-US Advertised offer good on select in-stock en-US vehicles only Dealers often advertise just en-US one car at a price below their cost. They en-US dont pay the salesman a commission if he en-US sells that vehicle. The chances of that car en-US being available for you to buy are slim and en-US none. Even if the car was still there, the en-US salesman would do everything in his power en-US to sell you a different car that he could earn en-US a commission on.en-US Owner Loyalty Rebate. The cousin to en-US this is the Conquest Rebate. Manufacturen-US -en-US ers offer special cash rebates to current en-US owners of their car. These rebates are not en-US available to you if you dont currently own en-US that make of car. For example, if you own a en-US Honda, and want to buy a Toyota, you dont en-US qualify for a Toyota loyalty rebate. That en-US price you see advertised wont be available. en-US Or for the Conquest Rebate, you must NOT en-US own the same make car.en-US Price plus, tax, tag, and fees. The red en-US flag word here is fees. The fees these en-US dealers refer to is a dealer fee which is en-US synonymous for dealer profit. Most people en-US think its a federal or state tax of some kind. en-US Its nothing more than more money for the en-US dealer that is not disclosed in the price of en-US the car. These are non-government fees and en-US go by many nameselectronic filing fee, en-US e-filing fee, notary fee, doc fee, administraen-US -en-US tive fee, dealer services fee and many more en-US names. Dealer fee is just a generic term for en-US all of these fees.en-US Offers expire date of publication or may en-US be cancelled at any time without notice. en-US This simply means that the prices, payen-US -en-US ments, etc. you have read have no validity en-US whatsoever. The prices are not good en-US tomorrow, but they arent even any good en-US today because the dealer can cancel the en-US offer without notice.en-US Not responsible for typographical en-US errors. This is just one more way for a en-US dealer to explain why they cant sell you the en-US car for the advertised priceWe dont have en-US to honor that price because it was a en-US typographical error.en-US Vehicle Art for illustrations only. This en-US means that that car you are looking at with en-US the great looking wheels might not have en-US those wheels on the one you buy. Or, maybe en-US it doesnt even have that sunroof you see in en-US the picture.en-US Minimum trade based on dealer list en-US price. The dealer list price is not the same en-US thing as the manufacturers suggest price. en-US Dealers add markups to the Monroney label en-US also known as MSRP or manufacturers en-US suggested retail price. They label this en-US markup (often on a sticker designed to en-US imitate the official federal Monroney label). en-US Dealer markups of $3,000 and much more en-US are common on such counterfeit Monen-US -en-US roney labels. In this case, the dealer has en-US marked up the MSRP far enough so that he en-US can offer a minimum $10,000 trade-in en-US allowance.en-US My advice to you is to ignore all car en-US dealers advertising. Most car ads are en-US designed to get you in the door so that en-USthey can sell you some other car than the en-US one advertised so that they can make more en-US money. If you must respond to a dealers en-US newspaper ad, please be sure you break out en-US your magnifying glass and carefully read en-US the fine print. ON CARS en-USEARL STEWART

I went over it with a fine-toothed en-US comb and mailed it in. Before I mailed it in, en-US I did not get anything from any candidate, en-US but after I had requested the mail-in ballot, I en-US was bombarded with giant postcards. en-US Which, thank God, have now ended.en-US I took all the giant postcards and threw en-US them in the garbage along with my ballot. I en-US am never voting again.en-USLooking for extraterrestrialsen-USWhy would aliens want to visit us? en-US When you go to the zoo to see your favoren-US -en-US ite animals, do you get in the enclosure with en-US them? Nope. Too many humans here on en-US Earth still cannot live in peace with other en-US humans they perceive to be different. Why en-US would aliens put themselves in danger to en-US communicate with a species that would be en-US technologically inferior and likely hostile?en-US For a long time I have wanted to meet an en-US intelligent extraterrestrial, because I thought en-US they would be able to help me, or help all of en-US us, with some better brain power.en-US What I realized (while waiting!) is there en-US are plenty of strange creatures here on Earth en-US that are intelligent in ways other than en-US human and we need to learn to "hear" what en-US they have to teach us before we go looking en-US out there. It's all here. What if any of these en-US creatures now on Earth were originally en-US extraterrestrials who crash landed?en-US Look into Ancient Sumerian culture. en-US Their clay tablet writings say we were geneten-US -en-US ically engineered by extraterrestrials using en-US part of their own DNA and they taught us en-US all the math and sciences. Having en-US to travel A1A frequently, we have had close en-US calls too many times to count. I consider en-US myself a courteous driver, but in many en-US instances with these violators, there is no en-US place for the law-abiding motorist to go.en-US There is an old saying "people who don't en-US know how to drive large vehicles should not en-US own big vehicles." (Their) mindset is "on to en-US the next." It should be "on to the next safely."en-USIronyen-USHow can anybody believe that a politician en-US who fought feverishly to take Pro-Life susen-US -en-US taining healthcare access away from tens of en-US millions of the neighbors we love as ouren-US -en-US selves could ever be considered to be a Pro-en-US Life Christian politician running for office? en-US This, in my mind, only confirms their en-US hypocrisy and ineptitude to serve in our en-US government. en-US Pro-life does not end at birth, folks, sorry, en-US it doesn't. The theme is Famen-US -en-US ily and Diabetes, raising awareness of the en-US impact that diabetes has on the family and en-US support network of those affected. The role en-US of the family in the management, care, preen-US -en-US vention and education of diabetes has been a en-US necessity for many families.en-US In Florida, it is estimated that over 2.4 en-US million people have diabetes and over 5.8 en-US million have prediabetes, and the Centers en-US for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) en-US reports that diabetes is the seventh leading en-US cause of death for both men and women in en-US the United States. The number of people en-US diagnosed with diabetes has more than trien-US -en-US pled in the last 20 years in the U.S.en-US There are three main types of diabetes: en-US type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes (diaen-US-en-US betes while pregnant). Women with diabetes en-US have more difficulty conceiving and may en-US have poor pregnancy outcomes, so it is espeen-US -en-US cially important for women to be aware of en-US their risk factors for developing diabetes, en-US including having a family history of diabetes en-US as well as age, weight and physical activity en-US level.en-US There isnt a cure yet for diabetes, but a en-US healthy lifestyle can really reduce its impact en-US on your life. Thanks to better treatments, en-US people with diabetes are now living longer en-US and with a better quality of life than en-US ever before. A blood test from your health en-US care provider can determine if you have diaen-US -en-US betes. 8 Were Here Day and NightFULL CIRCLE SENIOR CARE comment. en-USDuring the Sept. 14 inspection of the en-US Humane Societys Glades Road facility, the en-US countys Animal Shelter Standards Comen-US -en-US mittee cited the Humane Society for lack of en-US veterinarian protocols, insufficient staff to en-US care for the animals, unclean conditions, en-US healthy and sick animals sharing cages and en-US overcrowding, Ms. Douglas read from the en-US letter. However, of most concern to en-US pet-owning citizens, is that lots of dogs and en-US cats were in cages without IDs and labels.en-US Ms. Walker herself then addressed the en-US Board, emphasizing the collaboration en-US between the other municipalities that conen-US-en-US tract with the Society -the City of Port St. en-US Lucie and St. Lucie County -to help make en-US the organization more accountable for the en-US public funds it receives. en-US Weve reviewed all of the financial en-US records for the Humane Society for the past en-US three years, and weve reviewed the area en-US contracts with all of our municipal partners en-US so that we know what they say, she said. en-US We reviewed the Animal Shelter Standards en-US Committee review results with all of the en-US things that have been previously discussed en-US by me in the letter. We also know there was en-US a final report for that issued on 10-22, en-US which was then sent certified mail to the en-US Humane Society, which required that they en-US respond with their corrective plan of action en-US to their critical care defects within 15 days.en-US Ms. Walker did express frustration that en-US defects the Committee uncovered at the en-US Savannah Road facility were never, ever en-US addressed, never finalized and no remedial en-US action was taken and so insisted the conen-US -en-US version of the Humane Societys annual en-US contract to a monthly agreement be permaen-US -en-US nent.en-US So, lets continue to collaborate with our en-US municipal partners, and hopefully tonight en-US the contract that we agree to approve, will en-US continue to be a monthly contract, she en-US added. It will require financial data en-US because its important for the fiduciary en-US responsibilities of the taxpayers, as well as en-US inclusion of some addendums that require en-US performance standards so that there is en-US recourse.en-US Upon pulling the item from the Consent en-US Agenda, Commissioner Perona wanted en-US contractual assurances from city staff that en-US the Society would indeed be required to en-US submit such monthly financial documents.en-US In reading the contract, I know that part en-US of it is a monthly payment and it includes en-US invoice and impound activities, but I didnt en-US see where financials are a requirement, he en-US said. I know the county has requested en-US these financials, and its something that I en-US think we also need to be updated on if its en-US not a deal-killer. en-US Code Compliance Manager Peggy Arriaz en-US admitted staff had negotiated the submisen-US -en-US sion of monthly financial data but had yet en-US to incorporate it into the legal document.en-US That wording is definitely part of our en-US plan for the future but it was not in this conen-US -en-US tract, she said. Because it is in the St. Lucie en-US County contract, I dont see where thats a en-US problem -well simply amend that one liten-US -en-US tle section and add the words financial en-US report to the contract.en-US The new monthly $133,000 contract en-US reflects a $3,000 increase from the previous en-US annual contract in place through Sept. 30 of en-US this year. Instead of a lump sum, the en-US Humane Society will now receive en-US $11,083.34 each month. The new amount is en-US a far cry from the $183,000 requested by en-US Humane Society officials Oct. 8 so they en-US could hire more staff. Both Commissioner en-US Perona and Mayor Linda Hudson flatly en-US rejected that proposal, with the latter saying en-US the 2018/19 budget and millage rate had en-US already been approved by the Commission. en-US Thats not doable in our budget, she en-US said in the prior discussion. Theres no en-US $50,000 lying around somewhere.en-US During that same meeting, Commissionen-US -en-US er Perona complained to the Humane Socien-US -en-US ety leaders present that the City Commisen-US -en-US sion didnt get to participate in any of your en-US financial decisions or your facilities decien-US-en-US sions. He admitted Nov. 5, however, that he en-US was now ready to back the newest agreeen-US -en-US ment, part of which he attributed to the en-US work of local animal rights activists.en-US I appreciate our public partners and our en-US private partners that have identified certain en-US issues that helped us to get to identify ceren-US -en-US tain issues, he said. At this point, the staff en-US did a great job with investigating and moven-US-en-US ing forward so that we can support -or I en-US will support it -for the Humane Society.en-US Commissioner Perona subsequently en-US made the motion to accept the new monthen-US -en-US ly contract, which was seconded by Comen-US -en-US missioner Rufus Alexander and passed en-US unanimously. en-US en-USHumaneen-USFrom page 1 en-UScontact Rebecca Rodriguez at (772) 446-en-US 1757 oren-US rrodriguez@tcfoodbank.org.en-US Scrub Specialists Hike: 3:30-5 p.m., en-US Indrio Scrub Preserve, 5187 Old Dixie Hwy., en-US Fort Pierce. 9 future and provided more detail on the en-USlimited results from the Councils request en-US for proposals on the restaurant site.en-US As staff went through that process, we en-US felt like it was perhaps a little premature to en-US issue an RFP and ultimately a letter of en-US interest request was issued, he said. That en-US request was open for over six months, and en-US the proposal that was received did meet en-US the general requirements. So staff is recen-US -en-US ommending that we move forward to en-US negotiate, but that will include the proposen-US -en-US er demonstrating they have the financial en-US ability to do the project, showing us what en-US kind of building they would build, showen-US-en-US ing the financial capability to build it, as en-US well as the ability to operate a restaurant.en-US The city managers assurances failed to en-US satisfy Councilwoman Caraballo, who cast en-US the lone dissenting vote on proceeding en-US with the negotiations. en-US I am actually going to ask that it be en-US tabled until we get the information of the en-US business plan, she said. I think that that en-US should come before the negotiation piece. en-US I think that puts us into a little bit of a en-US quandary as weve had in the past someen-US -en-US times with staff providing us their recomen-US -en-US mendation. I would like to first see their en-US business plan and see that they have the en-US financial wherewithal.en-US For his part, Mayor Oravec said he en-US understood her viewpoint but hesitated to en-US delay the process any further.en-US Its been hanging out there for months, en-US he said. I wish it would have come to us en-US sooner, and I certainly wouldnt mind if en-US staff got an objective third party to evaluen-US-en-US ate everything.en-US Although voting with the majority, en-US Councilwoman Stefanie Morgan initially en-US expressed concern over the lack of the en-US business plan and so did her own research en-US on the side, which only served to exaggeren-US -en-US ate her fears. en-USWith no business plan, it makes it a liten-US -en-US tle different for me and I went and I pulled en-US this company on SunBiz, and they just creen-US-en-US ated this LLC in May of 2018, she en-US explained. So Im a little bit confused, and en-US I just want to make sure that were getting en-US the right information, the right person, the en-US right business at the right location to move en-US forward.en-US Vice-Mayor Martin attempted to allevien-US -en-US ate her concerns about the newly created en-US limited liability corporation.en-US Having worked in corporate law for en-US many years, its very typical that when a en-US company is entering into a new business en-US prospect that they create a new LLC for the en-US new business entity, she explained. It en-US happens all the time, and Im really comen-US-en-US fortable through this negotiation process en-US that were going to get all the answers and en-US make sure that we do our due diligence en-US and have everything before we go to an en-US actual contract.en-US Councilman John Carvelli cautioned his en-US fellow Council members on any further en-US delay, saying he was comfortable going en-US into negotiations because we have final en-US approval.en-US I think if we continue to wait, were en-US going to discourage folks from investing in en-US this Riverwalk property, he said. Weve en-US only had one response, and they seem to en-US bring a lot of experience and they want to en-US put money in the city to help get that projen-US -en-US ect off the ground. I think what will come en-US out of the negotiations is a business plan, a en-US budget and a proposed operation for the en-US restaurant.en-US Mr. Blackburn concurred with that en-US assessment.en-US We will have the financial information en-US from the proposer and exactly how theyre en-US going to finance their construction, he en-US explained. So the concept of this is that it en-US will be lease of city property and the proen-US-en-US poser would build a building themselves en-US and operate the building themselves over en-US the long term for the community. Certainen-US-en-US ly theres a lot of things that go into that en-US agreement that will be part of our negotiaen-US -en-US tion, but all of the due diligence that we en-US would provide will be done as a prerequien-US -en-US site to any kind of agreement.en-US According to the Salty411 LLC letter of en-US intent provided to the Hometown News, en-US the backers of the proposed restaurant are en-US the same owners of the Original Tiki Bar & en-US Restaurant that lost the bid for the renewal en-US of their long-term lease on waterfront en-US property in Downtown Fort Pierce. The en-US principals referenced in the letter, Diego en-US Larroude and Donna Qvarnstrom-Burke, en-US affirmed they were seeking a 20-year lease en-US on the 9,500-square-foot waterfront parcel en-US in Port St. Lucie.en-US Our proposed operation for the Riveren-US -en-US walk Project in Port St Lucie would be a en-US full-service restaurant and bar featuring en-US fresh from Florida seafood, beef and proen-US -en-US duce, and hand-crafted beverages with a en-US tropical feel, the letter stated. We are proen-US en-USposing three components to the site: the en-US main restaurant and bar, outdoor bar and en-US seating and lastly a banquet facility to host en-US weddings, business and personal events to en-US the residents of St Lucie County.en-US In addition, the letter expressed interest en-US in placing a food truck on the southern en-US end of the property to offer coffee, juice en-US bar products and quick snacks for park en-US visitors. en-US Our goal for the future development is en-US to offer paddleboard rentals, kayak and en-US additional outdoor activities for the resien-US-en-US dents and visitors to enjoy the park and the en-US river, the letter also stated. en-US Mayor Oravec expressed elation that en-US with this proposed part of the project, en-US which also includes the southern extenen-US-en-US sion of the Riverwalk funded by a $400,000 en-US FIND grant the Council approved that en-US evening as part of its Consent Agenda.en-US Were going to have this very special en-US public place where the [southern] boarden-US -en-US walk actually connects to the boardwalk en-US thats on the north side of the Port St. Lucie en-US bridge, he said. So youre going to have en-US that running half mile on the water and en-US have a waterfront restaurant finally in Port en-US St. Lucie -putting the port in Port St. en-US Lucie.en-USThroughout the discussion, Councilen-US-en-US woman Caraballo remained un-swayed in en-US her opposition. en-US I do feel strongly that we need to do en-US our due diligence process before we offer en-US negotiations, so I guess Ill be the lone bird en-US out, she saiden-US The Council subsequently voted 4-1 to en-US authorize Mr. Blackburn to begin the en-US negotiation process.en-USRiverwalken-USFrom page 1

11 en-USNen-USow I know why they call it Black en-US Friday. Did you know it all started en-US around 1950 in Philadelphia? The en-US annual Army/Navy game is played in en-US Philadelphia on the Saturday after Thanksen-US -en-US giving. Many people from the suburbs en-US would come to the city on Friday in en-US anticipation of the game. en-US The cities retailers decided to have large en-US discount sales to entice shoppers. The large en-US crowds of people shopping and attendees of en-US the game overwhelmed the local law en-US enforcement to control traffic. Large crowds en-US in stores also attracted shoplifters taking en-US advantage of the bedlam in stores. en-US By1961, the term Black Friday caught on en-US in the nation. Today everyone considers it a en-US great sale day lasting up to four days, but it en-US is also the slowest restaurant day of the year. en-US Everyone is shopping, not going out to eat. en-US Yes, more than 200 million people will take en-US advantage of the savings. All 200 million, en-US except me. en-US OK, I know everyone loves Black Friday en-US and all the special buys. But why did I pay en-US $45.39 for a gallon of milk? Let me explain. en-US I get up every morning at 5 a.m.; cant help en-US myself, just a habit of years of going to work en-US early in restaurants. This particular en-US morning I decided to treat my family to en-US French toast and noticed we had used all en-US the milk on Thanksgiving Day. No big deal. en-US I would run to Walmart down the street, en-US which is open 24 hours and get right back. en-US BIG MISTAKE. en-US I pulled into the parking lot as I have so en-US many times before at this time and was en-US surprised at the number of cars in the lot. I en-US noticed people with three and four carts full en-US of merchandise loading their cars. Hmmm, en-US must be a special early bird sale of some en-US kind. en-US You guessed it, Im not a Black Friday en-US shopper and will never be again. I entered en-US the store on the food side and got swept up en-US in a crowd of people going down the main en-US isle. Instead of food that is usually disen-US -en-US played, there was everything but food. I en-US managed to get to the back of the store en-US where the milk was stored and grabbed a en-US gallon. en-US I headed back into the mob to try and en-US cash out. Thats when I found myself in en-US front of a table with some kind of electronic en-US games. I picked it up and people were en-US trying to take it out of my hand. I held on to en-US it as if it were gold, not knowing what it en-US was. I made it to the cashier and my bill en-US came to $45.39. I was too embarrassed to en-US say anything, so I just paid and left. en-US When I got home, my wife asked me why en-US I bought a childrens electronic frog game. I en-US played it cool and said, Oh I thought it en-US would be nice to give it to Toys for Tots. en-US Please dont tell her . I made the French en-US toast for breakfast with my $45.39 gallon of en-US milk and promised myself I would never go en-US shopping on Black Friday again, its too en-US expensive. en-US Try this French toast recipe; youll love it. en-US I suggest you buy a cheaper milk.en-USFRENCH CUSTARD TOASTen-USIngredientsen-US 5 large eggsen-US 1 teaspoon sugar, optionalen-US Dash salten-US 1 cup milken-US 5 slices white bread, 1 inch thick Autentica Cucina Italiana 8621 S US Hwy 1, Port St Lucie 772-323-0355 Tues Night Ladies Night FREE glass of house wine with any entree purchase(pizza excluded) Expires 11-30-18 Open Monday Saturday for Lunch & Dinner ITALIAN NIGHT & BINGOJoin Us Every Monday at our NEW Location West St. Lucie ELKS LODGE 2823 343 Prime Vista Blvd.772-873-8192 DINNER Served 4:45-6:45 BINGO Starts at 7pm $20 for 10 Games(Free Jackpot Card with Dinner!) 12 en-USIen-USts that time of year again. The moment en-US has arrived when you need to find just en-US the right gift for that special golfer in en-US your life, and you have no clue what to get. en-US Golfers are a tricky bunch. We are quirky en-US and usually go out and get what we want. en-US That makes it quite difficult for someone en-US looking to give a golf gift.en-US With that in mind, I would like to present en-US a few different gift ideas for those of you en-US looking to give or in need of presenting a en-US list to someone.en-US Florida may be the Sunshine State, but en-US most of us know how quickly a rain cloud en-US will pop up and drench you and your clubs. en-US Thanks to Big Max Golf (en-US www.bigmaxgolf.en-US comen-US ), and its line of Aqua carry and cart en-US bags your clubs and belongings will stay dry en-US even in the worst of rain.en-US The Aqua line is 100 percent waterproof, en-US with plenty of room for clubs, drinks, en-US valuables and more. The carry bags are en-US ultra-lightweight and feature a padded, air en-US channel strap for comfort when you walk en-US the course. The cart bags are nearly as light, en-US and quite roomy.en-US I recently picked up one of these bags and en-US put it to a quick test. I attached the rain en-US hood over the top and proceeded to turn en-US my water hose on full blast. The only thing en-US wet was the outside of the bag. Their ad en-US shows someone water skiing with the bag, en-US showing just how well it works. This is a en-US must-have for Florida golfers.en-US If your golfer likes to walk but prefers not en-US to carry, Big Max Golf also has a great line en-US of trolleys. The Blade line is ultra-slim and en-US assembles and disassembles in a matter of en-US seconds, fitting neatly into your trunk.en-US en-US I drive a small Miata convertible. Until en-US now, finding a trolley that fits into my trunk en-US has been impossible, especially with all the en-US features of the Blade.en-US One thing that the professionals have en-US over us mere mortal golfers is that their en-US clubs are always custom-fit. Most teachers en-US will tell you that if your clubs dont fit your en-US swing, your body style and your skill level, en-US you will likely struggle.en-US Club Champion (en-US www.clubchampiongolf.en-US comen-US 888-340-7820) offers professional en-US fitting to every golfer of any age and skill en-US level. You can fit just one club in your bag, en-US your wedges, your putter or the entire set. en-US Professional fitters use the latest technolen-US -en-US ogy to find the right combination of grip, en-US shaft, length, and clubhead to give you the en-US most benefit from your equipment. There en-US are over 35,000 combinations, so they are en-US very likely to have the one that works best en-US for you.en-US Club Champion even offers a trade-in en-US program to help you get into the best en-US equipment. Local locations are in Orlando en-US and Delray Beach.en-US en-US Putting can make or break a solid round. en-US The most overlooked part of a putter is the en-US shaft. Barney Adams, founder of Adams en-US Golf and Tight Lies, has founded a new en-US company, Breakthrough Golf Technology en-US (en-USwww.breakthroughgolftech.comen-US 888-211-en-US 6770).en-US For the past 50 years, the putter shaft has en-US remained virtually unchanged. Adams new en-US Stability Shaft is heavier and much stiffer en-US than your usual putter shaft. The result is a en-US shaft that delivers and keeps the head of the en-US putter square at impact, improving en-US accuracy and feel.en-US The shaft features an aluminum connecen-US -en-US tor allowing it to attach to any putter, en-US regardless of the bend profile. There are en-US eight layers of high modulus carbon fiber to en-US reduce torque, and a 22-gram insert that is en-US precisely located to reinforce flexural en-US rigidity. In testing torque was reduced by en-US almost 50%. Imagine making those putts en-US wound up just a tad outside the hole en-US because the putter head twisted open or en-US closed.en-US Best of all, you dont even have to leave en-US your home. Breakthrough Golf will send en-US you a box to ship your putter to them in. en-US Turn-around time is about a week.en-US Finally, golfers love unique things. One en-US gentleman that I follow on Instagram has an en-US amazing talent for making ball markers, en-US divot repair tools, and now, putters. Marc en-US Cordeira owns and operates Kraken Golf en-US (en-USwww.krakengolf.comen-US, 617-460-9023) from en-US his garage in Massachusetts. Actually, its his en-US wifes side of the garage as it was her car that en-US was relocated to make room.en-US Marc makes unique, small batch, en-US heirloom quality golf accessories. He uses en-US CNC milling machines and lasers to create en-US items that you will not find anywhere else. en-US His attention to detail and craftsmanship is en-US second only to his imagination. One of my en-US favorites is his Lego divot tool. He also en-US made a skeleton tool for Halloween. Some en-US of his ball markers include money bags, en-US basketballs, complete with texture, comic en-US bombs, and more.en-US Many of his latest works are one-off en-US custom pieces. A recent one included a en-US customers family crest. It is amazing. 14 en-USIen-USts getting to the time when many of us en-US will be decorating our trees for the en-US holidays. A great alternative to an en-US artificial tree and/or a live tree is a Norfolk en-US Island pine. They are available at most en-US retailers and come in several sizes. Some en-US even come already decorated and ready to en-US go. en-US The Norfolk Island pine does require a en-US well-lit area of your home if you are going en-US to keep it indoors for an extended period of en-US time. These trees have distinctly flat en-US branches and short soft needles. These trees en-US thrive in humid environments which makes en-US them right at home in Florida. The soil en-US conditions for this tree should be on the en-US moist side. A sure sign the tree is not en-US getting enough moisture is when you start en-US to see a lot of dead lower branches. The en-US Norfolk pine does not regenerate its lost en-US limbs or needles so it is important to stay en-US on a steady watering schedule. If the tree is en-US over watered, you will begin to see areas of en-US bright yellow needles that fall off easily. To en-US avoid this condition, be sure the plant is not en-US standing in water. If you purchase a tree en-US with foil wrap on it, be sure to slit the foil so en-US water can drain from the pot. It is not en-US recommended that the trees be pruned as en-US the plant can loose its symmetrical shape. en-US Most retailers will also include many other en-US varieties of plants that are decorated and en-US ready to enjoy.en-US If you are one of the many Americans en-US who are buying a live tree this year, here are en-US a few tips to help you with the process. en-US Since live trees in our area are trucked very en-US long distances to their destination, picking en-US out the freshest looking tree is extremely en-US important. Make sure your tree is green en-US with minimal brown branches. Check the en-US needles of the tree and be sure that they are en-US flexible and do not fall off when you brush en-US the branches. Another good check is to en-US bounce the tree lightly on the cut end to see en-US how aggressively the leaves fall off the en-US branches. Avoid trees that shed leaves en-US aggressively with this procedure. Another en-US point to consider is the location the tree will en-US be placed. Be sure to get accurate measureen-US -en-US ments of the area so you can get a tree that en-US is tailored to its location.en-US You have finally picked out your prize en-US tree so now whats next? The most importen-US -en-US ant task is to get your tree in its stand and en-US located where it will spend the remainder of en-US the season. If it has not been done at the en-US place of purchase, cut off about an inch en-US from the bottom the tree before mounting en-US in the stand. This will greatly aid the tree in en-US absorbing water. Once the tree is mounted, en-US be sure to add water immediately. The en-US sooner all this is done the better. en-US Now its time to decorate your new tree en-US with all the goodies you have been collecten-US -en-US ing the past couple of weeks. Use caution en-US when using lights especially if you use the en-US larger C-7 type lights. As long as the tree en-US remains moist and the needles pliable, the en-US tree will not be a huge fire hazard. As the en-US tree ages and you get near the end of the en-US season, more caution is advised since the en-US tree structure will become drier in nature. en-US Now that all the work is done, the time en-US has come to sit back with your favorite en-US beverage and enjoy your masterpiece!en-US Joe Zelenak has more than 30 years en-US experience in gardening and landscape.
