Many boaters and campers en-US thoroughly enjoyed these improvements. en-US Recently, the state tore down all of these en-US improvements. The people who made these en-US improvements were devastated as were the en-US rest of us! The mayor of Sebastian often en-US enjoyed this island. We were told that the en-US State said that the proper "paperwork and en-US permits" were not submitted. This is ridicuen-US -en-US lous! These people spent a lot of their own en-US money and time building these improveen-US -en-US ments. There was no warning about this en-US destruction and the people would have done en-US whatever the State authorities demanded. en-US What a shame!en-USWhy have automatic and en-US semi-automatic weapons?en-USI am from Canada and have lived in the en-US Unites States of America full time since en-US 2007. I have permanent resident status and I en-US write this message today with a heavy heart.en-US Another mass shooting against innocent en-US people, killing at least 11. Since Sandy Hook en-US there has been just under 2000 mass shooten-US -en-US ings with at least 2,100 killed and around en-US 8,000 wounded. How many of these people en-US would not have been killed/wounded if en-US automatic and semi-automatic weapons en-US were banned for ownership by the United en-US States government? Would there be this en-US many mass shootings (4 or more people is en-US the classification for a mass shooting) if the en-US shooters only had single-shot guns? Of en-US course not! I am not saying to ban guns but en-US why does any American private citizen need en-US an automatic weapon? There are 12 guns en-US per 100 Americans and the next highest is en-US Switzerland with just under 3.en-US The National Rifle Association is a large en-US organization with a very large lobby in en-US Washington. Why do they support Amerien-US -en-US cans having automatic weapons? Why do en-US congress people and senators allow the NRA en-US to have such a large persuasion?en-US I am told by many that changing the law en-US wont get rid of the automatic weapons, they en-US are already out there. I rebut by saying You en-US have to start somewhere." We wont get rid en-US of bad people, they will still be there but en-US Nikolas Cruz who was the shooter at en-US Stoneman Douglas High School only en-US bought the automatic gun a week or so en-US before his assault.en-US I have not seen one political ad speaking en-US against these weapons. They only speak en-US against each other. Before you vote, ask the en-US candidate what their position is.en-US We have to start somewhere!en-USFast train solutionen-USI was up all night thinking about the fast en-US train and what would work came up with en-US the following solution: the train should en-US avoid Sebastian, Vero Beach, Hobe Sound, en-US Jensen Beach and Stuart. Run only local en-US trains there. The train should go from Melen-US -en-US bourne beach airport next south to Fort en-US Pierce, then west of 195 to Port St. Lucie en-US where a bus can take passengers to Mets staen-US -en-US dium, next stop West Palm Beach keeping en-US the beach areas with local trains or bus seren-US -en-US vices. That would be a win win solution for en-US all in this area. As far as the freight it should en-US be routed west of all South Florida as it en-US includes hazardous flammable freight which en-US is never brought up in any conversations. en-US We could use a new party in the USA en-US called the conservative or conservationist en-US party in addition to Republican and Demoen-US -en-US cratic parties. It is about time for changes en-US which are long overdue. Look at the state of en-US Florida and our waterways and the train. en-US We could use a political backer and seek out en-US people that care about this precious planet. en-USGolf carts on the roaden-USThe recent article regarding the City of en-US Port St. Lucie considering an ordinance on en-US the use of golf carts on public roadways, has en-US me scratching my head! en-US In my opinion, allowing this to occur in en-US this is city is absurd, and quite dangerous.en-US With the current levels of traffic flow and en-US congestion, making it legal to do so will creen-US -en-US ate huge problems on many levels.en-US I urge the Port St. Lucie City Council to en-US reject any attempt to allow golf carts on puben-US-en-US lic roads!en-USRoaming catsen-USIt's shocking to think anyone complains en-US about cats not being seen outdoors when en-US responsible pet owners keep their cats en-US indoors.en-US Roaming cats are not only at risk of being en-US killed by coyotes, but they fall prey to foxes, en-US birds of prey, other cats, dogs, cars and, yes, en-US people. Also, roaming cats are a nuisance en-US due to their bathroom habits, midnight en-US fights, and their contribution to the feral cat en-US population if they are not fixed.en-US Roaming cats prey on rabbits as well as en-US 3.7 billion birds each year in our country. If en-US anyone is concerned about coyotes or any en-US other wildlife that seems to be "intruding" en-USon our space (when it has been the other en-US way around), I would suggest that you deal en-US with local government, which is approving en-US the clear-cutting of the habitat of countless en-US wildlife species in this area, forcing animals en-US into our streets and yards.en-US Relocation of wildlife does not work. So, en-US if you're concerned about a coyote or any en-US other animal hurting or killing your cat, and en-US if you are concerned about rabbits and birds, en-US please keep your cats indoors. I believe this was rushed -I dont en-US believe we gave it enough time, and counting en-US the days that this was put out for an RFP en-US [request for proposal], it was 25 days. When en-US youre doing something this huge and it goes en-US out to over 12,000 and you get one response, en-US to me it sends a huge red flag.en-US Even though the dissenting Council memen-US-en-US ber said she had nothing against the Port St. en-US Lucie respondent, she did feel some of the en-US Councils previously discussed requirements en-US had not been met in the Somerset proposal.en-US Ive heard nothing but great things about en-US Somerset, but I just dont think its the right en-US fit at this point in time, she added. Its en-US phased in too slow, were looking at probably en-US 2025 before there will be any graduates from en-US the school. At the retreat [we requested] a en-US transportation plan, and I read it is expected en-US that parents will provide the students transen-US -en-US portation, I dont really see an enhanced en-US security plan that was asked for, and there are en-US no local residents on the board. We have one en-US chance -one -to get it right, and I think en-US that were rushing this way too fast. en-US Vice-Mayor Shannon Martin disputed her en-US fellow Councilwomans concerns and en-US reminded her that the Council voted unanien-US -en-US mously Aug. 27 to accept the RFQ timeline.en-US Im a little perplexed and dont underen-US -en-US stand those comments since staff put forth a en-US timeline to us and we had a public discussion en-US about it and we agreed to that timeline, she en-US said. If we dont take the bull by the horns en-US and get things going and get things done, this en-US is never going to happen. We cant control en-US who responds -we have a respondent, Somen-US-en-US erset, and its a proven entity. en-US During the course of the discussion, en-US Council members asked questions of both en-US Somerset Principal Erica Raines and one of en-US her representatives, Richard Moreno of the en-US Washington D.C.-based charter school advoen-US -en-US cacy organization known as Building Hope. en-US Councilman John Carvelli particularly wanten-US-en-US ed to know if the national Somerset Acadeen-US -en-US my organization had the buying power to en-US pull off the project.en-US I know theyve done different types of en-US buildings around the state. he said. Can you en-US tell us, do they have the financial means to en-US construct the building on time and on scheden-US -en-US ule? en-US Mr. Moreno emphasized that the local en-US academys parent organization currently runs en-US 67 schools in Nevada, Texas, Florida and en-US Washington D.C. with revenues north of en-US $250 million. en-US I was the financial advisor when Someren-US -en-US set purchased the K-5, which was the origien-US -en-US nal Imagine School, he said. The school en-US was able to finance that facility at a sub-4 en-US percent, which is a testament to the organizaen-US-en-US tion. With the financial strength of Somerset, en-US were able to do this through non-taxable en-US dollars.en-US Mr. Moreno said Somersets plans for a en-US gradual rollout of subsequent grade levels are en-US meant to ensure success.en-US One of the things that was contemplated en-US in this -which is very, very important for en-US the success of the Academy -is the slow en-US ramp-up, he added. Well be able to capitalen-US-en-US ize interest and build that over time to max en-US the enrollment growth. So when you look at en-US the budget, you see that the debt service en-US would have to grow over time, and that is en-US structured to be able to do that. So were able en-US to go to the capital markets with the strength en-US of Somerset and be able to get the low-cost en-US financing that will allow that kind of growth.en-US Council Carvelli, a former administrator en-US with St. Lucie Schools, also wanted to know if en-US Somerset would offer competitive teacher en-US and staff salaries. Ms. Raines said the organien-US -en-US zation actually topped the pay offered by the en-US District. en-US For content-area teachers salaries, we pay en-US higher than the District, she insisted. Our en-US benefits package is better than the District, en-US and we do a 401k with a dollar-to-dollar en-US match up to 4 percent.en-US After the Council finished questioning the en-US Somerset representatives, Mayor Gregory en-US Oravec asked local plumbing contractor and en-US past vice-president of the Treasure Coast en-US Builders Association Bob Ludlum to address en-US the Council on the issue. Mr. Ludlum had en-US also served on the RFQ Committee and said en-US the Somerset proposal would not fully meet en-US the need of the area for qualified workers. en-US Wed like to thank you for initiating the en-US RFQ to help bring the much-needed technien-US-en-US cal training in the skilled trades to Port St. en-US Lucie, he said. Although we will still need a en-US more concentrated vocational training facilien-US-en-US ty in our region, were pleased that the proen-US-en-US posed Somerset Academy school plans to en-US include certifications in plumbing, HVAC en-US and electrical trades, which are not available en-US in our other local high schools and career en-US technical education programs.en-US Mr. Ludlum also echoed some of Councilen-US-en-US woman Morgans complaints about the RFQ/en-US RFP process. en-US The concern we have is that there has en-USbeen only one responder, he explained. Our en-US primary focus is making sure that we have en-US educators that can teach the skilled trades. en-US The training for these trades wont begin for en-US another five years in this whole process, so en-US we ask the Council to consider stipulating en-US the proposed lease agreement negotiation to en-US include very clear expectations of Somerset en-US Academy to make every effort to provide the en-US skilled training that is so badly needed.en-US For his part, Councilman Carvelli attempten-US -en-US ed to encourage both Councilwoman Moren-US -en-US gan and Mr. Ludlum by explaining the need en-US for Somersets slow ramp-up on the vo-tech en-US educational process in order to meet strict en-US industry certification requirements.en-US I know your outcome was on five years en-US with students graduating, but some of the en-US classes have seven credits -electrical has en-US eight -so you have to sequence those, he en-US said.en-US You couldnt bring 10th and 11th graders en-US in and expect them to complete the program, en-US and if they did do that, it would count against en-US their graduation requirement completion en-US rate and certification rate, and it would actuen-US -en-US ally shut them down within two or three en-US years. That would be a major concern for me en-US until I saw the phasing plan. Every school en-US that Ive seen this done in started with K-3 en-US and kept adding grade levels.en-US Vice-Mayor Shannon Martin also en-US addressed Mr. Ludlums concerns directly.en-US I just wanted to make sure we do enough en-US with the school no matter who operates it, en-US that we make sure were meeting the skills en-US gap study and the needs here in our commuen-US -en-US nity, she said. In every decision that I make en-US going forward, Ill always keep that at the en-US forefront, that were making sure we meet the en-US needs of our community for our skilled en-US trades.en-US Right before making the motion to authoen-US-en-US rize the negotiation process, Councilman en-US Carvelli emphasized a proposed career acaden-US -en-US emy in Port St. Lucie has been on the drawen-US -en-US ing board for decades.en-US Ive been here 45 years in the city, and Ive en-US been hearing about a vo-tech center since I en-US moved here in , he said. The dealership is located at en-US 1215 N. Federal Highway in Lake Park. en-US Contact him at en-USwww.earlstewarttoyota.com, en-US call 561-358-1474, fax 561-658-0746 or en-US email earl@estoyota.com.en-USYen-USou owe the bank or leasing company en-US for damage beyond normal wear en-US and tear and excess mileage. The en-US danger here is because many people return en-US their car to the dealership after the lease en-US expires without getting signed, written en-US verification of what damage exists on the en-US car and what mileage is on the odometer. en-US Return lease cars commonly sit on the car en-US dealers lot for weeks or even months before en-US the bank or leasing company gets around to en-US picking the car up to send it through the en-US auction. Anybody might be driving that en-US lease car in the interim. It could be an en-US employee of the dealership. A returned en-US lease car with a full tank of gas can be a big en-US temptation. In many dealerships the en-US accounting for returned lease cars is very en-US sloppy. Remember, the car does not below en-US to the dealership, but to the bank or leasing en-US company. The dealer doesnt even have en-US insurance on this car. The insurance may en-US even still be in your name. A return lease en-US car can easily be stolen and no one would en-US even notice. I have heard many horror en-US stories of customers who received bills from en-US their leasing company weeks after returning en-US their lease car for thousands of dollars in en-US damage and excess mileage that they say en-US they were not responsible for. Your only en-US protection is to be sure that a representative en-US of the dealership fills out, with you, a en-US complete return lease inspection form en-US which notes all damage, the estimated cost en-US of repair and the mileage. As an extra en-US precaution, I recommend taking pictures of en-US your lease return car to have on hand in en-US case youre blamed for damage that occurs en-US after you turn it in.en-US (2) A lease ad with a large down payment en-US and short term. Most lease ads you see on en-US TV or read in the newspaper have a large en-US down payment hidden in the fine print. A en-US down payment of $4,000 is typical. Ironicalen-US -en-US ly one of the biggest reasons people lease en-US cars is to avoid laying out more cash. en-US Dealers do this because a cash down en-US payment on a lease is leveraged compared en-US to a down payment on a purchase. A $4,000 en-US down payment on a lease will reduce the en-US monthly payment much more than on a en-US purchase. Also, watch out for shorter lease en-US terms such as 24 months compared to 36 or en-US 48 which are normal. Remember, when en-US buying a car, your monthly payments are en-US paying for the whole car. When leasing, en-US you are only paying for a small part of the en-US carthe time you use it. A 24 month lease en-US requires less of a down payment to lower en-US the monthly payment than a 36 month lease en-US or 48 month lease. You can actually lease a en-US car for zero dollars per month if you put en-US up a large enough down payment. The en-US banks call this a one-pay lease. All you are en-US doing is making all of your lease payment en-US up front and, to a lesser extent; this is what en-US youre doing when a dealer sneaks in a large en-US lease down payment in the fine print.en-US (3) Low mileage allowance. Be sure you en-US know exactly how many miles are allowed en-US in your lease contract. By restricting the en-US number of miles you are allowed, the dealer en-US can quote a lower monthly payment. Ive en-US seen lease ads with as low as a 7,500 annual en-US mileage allowance and a 25 cent per mile en-US penalty. Most people drive a lot more miles en-US than this. If you missed this in the fine print en-US and are a fairly typical driver who puts en-US 15,000 miles a year on your car, you would en-US get a surprise bill from the leasing company en-US of $5,625 at the end of a 36 month lease!en-US (4) The Lease Disposal Fee. It would en-US almost be funny if it werent so deceptive. en-US The bank is charging you an extra fee for en-US leasing you the car and then hitting you en-US again for taking the car back. They certainly en-US incur a cost for doing the lease and for en-US taking the lease back, but his is called en-US business overhead expense and should be en-US included in their price which is your lease en-US payment. The motive behind all of this, of en-US course, is the same motive behind the en-US dealer feeit allows the illusion of a en-US lower price than you are actually paying.en-US (5) Higher Insurance Costs. Typically en-US you are required by the bank or leasing en-US company to carry more insurance on their en-US lease car than you might normally buy if en-US you purchased your car. Furthermore, the en-US cost of the insurance is simply higher on en-US lease cars. That may be because insurance en-US companies know that people are not as en-US careful driving a lease car [belonging to the en-US bank] than they are their own car.en-US (6) Higher Credit Requirements. en-US Another reason dealers advertise lease en-US payments is that most of those who respond en-US to the ad cannot qualify to lease a car and en-US the dealer then tries to sell them the same en-US car. Of course the payments are much en-US higher, but the dealer accomplished his en-US purposehe got you in the door. If you en-US have a Beacon score below 720, which most en-US people do, you can forget about leasing that en-US car for advertised payment. You may be en-US able to lease it at a higher payment if you en-US have a 680+ Beacon, but many people dont en-US and cannot lease a car at all.en-US (7) You mighty not get the Electric en-US Vehicle Tax Credit. The IRS offers a tax en-US incentive to buy an electric or hybrid car en-US (this limited to a certain number of en-US vehicles, so please check ahead to see if the en-US electric or hybrid vehicle qualifies). If you en-USlease a hybrid instead of buying, the tax en-US incentive does not go to you; it goes to the en-US leasing company because they are the legal en-US owner of the car. The leasing company may en-US pass this along to you in the form of a lower en-US leaser payment, but maybe not. However, several chickens have en-US recently tested positive for antibodies for West en-US Nile virus in rural areas of St. Lucie County. In en-US response, Mosquito Control has increased fog en-US truck missions and surveillance as part of en-US ongoing efforts to reduce mosquito activity.en-US Because of our climate on the Treasure en-US Coast, there is at least some risk of exposure to en-US mosquito-borne diseases throughout the year.en-US St. Lucie County reminds residents to do en-US their part in reducing breeding areas, including en-US practicing the tip and toss method of emptying en-US containers that collect standing water around en-US their homes and yards. 13 en-USover the last 10 years. The menus are chock-en-US block full of absolutely mouth-watering en-US items that sound as delicious as they taste. en-US Whether youre in the mood for pancakes, en-US French toast, a burger, soup or a smoothie, en-US this is the spot to visit. Its almost a guaranen-US -en-US tee that you will be in sensory overload. Not en-US only does the food sound amazing when en-US you read the menu, the smell, taste and sight en-US of each dish is out of this world and after en-US my meal, I felt great, too so I think each en-US sense was happy!en-US My guest and I spent quite a while going en-US over the extensive menu. Breakfast is served en-US from open to close, which is 3 p.m., so no en-US matter if youre starting your day off late, or en-US just in the mood for breakfast, you can get en-US your fix at the cafe. Our incredible and en-US informative waitress, Autumn Hegna, (who en-US brought her amazing smile and skills to St. en-US Lucie West from a small town in Wisconen-US -en-US sin), suggested we start out with a couple of en-US musts. The blueberry fritters are one of the en-US most popular items at all three of the cafes. en-US Balls of blueberry muffin-esque dough are en-US deep fried and coated in cinnamon sugar. en-US They are served with a strawberry yogurt en-US dipping sauce that is the perfect yin to this en-US yang. en-US Ms. Hegna also suggested we try the loaden-US -en-US ed potato pancake bites as another appetizen-US-en-US er. I was a little skeptical because the idea of en-US a pancake topped with cheese and spring en-US onions seemed more mismatch than mouthen-US -en-US watering. However, when these delectable en-US palm-sized pancakes, full of shredded potaen-US-en-US toes and a perfect blend of spices, and en-US topped with melted cheddar cheese, bacon en-US crumbles, spring onions and served with a en-US side of sour cream, was set in front of me, it en-US was apparent that I was wrong. This, by far, en-US is my most favorite discovery of the year. en-US The pancakes were served hot off the griden-US -en-US dle and were simply amazing. The sour en-US cream was the perfect accompaniment. It en-US bounced off the savory flavors of the cheese en-US and potato and blended well with the bacon en-US and spring onions. Please, when you make en-US your trek to Berry Fresh, remember to order en-US the loaded potato pancakes. You will not be en-US disappointed.en-US Theres something really satisfying about en-US turning fresh ingredients into a meal that en-US makes my customers happy, Mr. T, which en-US he is affectionately called by his staff, said. en-US There are so many restaurants that folks en-US can choose from. They can go anywhere to en-US spend their money, so if they decide to come en-US here. I want them to feel happy about that en-US choice. I want to them to feel like family en-US when they walk in the door. This is an expeen-US -en-US rience that should be pleasant from the en-US moment they sit down to the moment they en-US go home.en-US From the smiles on the faces of those in en-US the restaurant, Id say Mr. T is making lots of en-US people happy.en-US Mr. T suggested my guest and I try a couen-US -en-US ple items from the menu, and after the en-US incredible potato pancakes, I was excited to en-US try something else. My guest was in the en-US mood for breakfast and chose scrambled en-US eggs, French toast, bacon and grits. The en-US French toast was crispy on the outside and en-US gave way to a soft, warm center. The French en-US toast can be topped or stuffed with so many en-US different items that theres no way to even en-US scratch the surface here. However, the salted en-US caramel stuffed French toast will be a must en-US on my next visit.en-US Its easy to cut corners when youre in the en-US kitchen, Mr. T explained. But, I think a en-US consumer will be able to tell as soon as they en-US take the first bite of the food. We make our en-US grits with heavy whipping cream. Most peoen-US -en-US ple make it with water and you can really en-US tell the difference. Ours is creamy and most en-US people tell us that its some of the best en-US theyve tried.en-US Hes not exaggerating. The grits my guest en-US was served were top-notch. She added en-US cheese and a little salt and pepper to cusen-US -en-US tomize to her liking, but even straight from en-US the kitchen, they were perfectly cooked.en-US I tend to judge most restaurants by their en-US soups. I like a hearty homemade soup, made en-US with fresh ingredients and served steaming en-US hot. All of those boxes must be checked in en-US order for me to deem a restaurants soup en-US worth having. One of the trickiest soups to en-US make impressive, believe it or not, is good en-US old-fashioned chicken noodle soup. Many en-US restaurants skimp on the chicken, use en-US canned carrots, or even just serve canned en-US soup. But not Berry Fresh Cafe. The chunks en-US of chicken, freshly cut carrots and onions, en-US perfectly cooked ribbon pasta and exquien-US -en-US sitely seasoned broth made this steaming en-US soup one of my favorites. Each day theres a en-US different featured soup. If theres any advice en-US youll follow, itd be to go there on a day that en-US theres plenty of chicken noodle soup. If en-US youre like me and love a good soup, you will en-US be happy you did.en-US I decided I wanted to try a sandwich and en-US made the hard choice of picking a burger en-US over a Reuben or a Cuban. The gorgonzola en-US and bacon burger was prepared delightfully, en-US and the contrast of the cheese and sauted en-US onions, mixed with the saltiness of the en-US bacon, created an exquisite burger worth en-US having again. The French fries that were en-USserved with the burger were hot and crisp en-US and the hint of seasoning on them was peren-US -en-US fect. The burger is served with lettuce, en-US tomato, onion and mayonnaise. These topen-US -en-US pings were fresh and added great texture to en-US the burger, however with the plethora of flaen-US -en-US vors already existing in the burger, they en-US werent necessary.en-US I could go on and on about how incredien-US -en-US ble the meal at Berry Fresh Cafe was. Howen-US -en-US ever, I think you should visit and find out en-US for yourself. Let me know how much you en-US enjoyed it and if you tried any of the exciting en-US items that I havent mentioned. en-US You can reach me at amenhenott@homeen-US -en-US townnewsol.com. This is en-US not really a booby trap but a lot of people en-US lease cars thinking they can write of the en-US lease payment faster than they can deprecien-US -en-US ate a car if they buy it. This is not so. Check en-US with your accountant.en-US The only real advantage I see to leasing en-US over buying is protecting yourself against, en-US or even taking advantage of, unexpected en-US depreciation of the vehicle. When a bank or en-US leasing company establishes a lease en-US payment for a particular model car, the en-US single biggest variable is what that car is en-US going to be worth at the end of the lease. en-US They cant know and they have to guess. If en-US they guess high and the car is worth a lot en-US less at the end of the lease, you have no en-US obligation and the bank suffers a big loss en-US when they sell it at the auction. This en-US happens more often than you might think. en-US If you had bought the car, you would be the en-US one to worry about the expectedly low en-US trade-in value when you bought your next en-US car. On the other hand if the bank guesses en-US that the value of your lease car is lower than en-US what the market value really is, you have an en-US option to purchase that car at this low price. en-US Even if you dont want to keep the car, you en-US can buy the car at this below market option en-US price, sell it to the dealer for the true higher en-US value, and pocket the difference.en-USEarlen-USFrom page 10 en-USHelp us celebrate one of the Treasure Coasts most popular pastimes by submitting en-US a photo of your most recent catch straight from local waters.en-US Email a photo of you with your fish that is at least 1 MB or 300 dpi in size en-US to news@hometownnewsol.com. Being less than a en-US two-hours drive away helps as well.en-US On the east side of town, between U.S. en-US Highway 192 and State Road 528, on en-US Highway 15, lies Eagle Creek Golf Club. If en-US you happen to be headed to the Orlando en-US airport or Orlando itself, there is a good en-US chance this course falls right along your en-US route. If not, its certainly worth the detour.en-US International golf course architect Ron en-US Garl is a friend of mine and he is rightfully en-US proud of his design work on this course. It en-US is also one of my favorites. Also intriguing en-US is that it plays to a par of 73, a slight en-US departure from the norm. You just need to en-US remember that when you add up your en-US strokes at the end of your round. en-US Another interesting trait of this wonderen-US -en-US ful track is its British seaside feel. Not only en-US because of the rolling terrain and the en-US seaside types of grasses found throughout, en-US but also because of the sod-walled bunkers. en-US Trust me, as beautiful and unique as they en-US are, you will want to avoid them at all cost! en-US Not that its easy to avoid them, mind you. en-US The course sports over 90 bunkers in all, en-US with some waste areas taking up over a en-US half-acre. en-US Eagle Creek is one of my favorites, Garl en-US told me with a smile. It has a great variety en-US of holes. There is a touch of the British Isles, en-US a British and Scottish Links right in the en-US middle of Florida.en-US The course features five sets of tees, en-US playing as long as 7,217 yards, down to a en-US little as 5,324 yards. The variety of holes en-US includes a couple of short par-4s, a very en-US reachable par-5, as well as a monster of a en-US par-5. There are four par-3s, challenging en-US every club in your bag.en-US One of the things I like best is that the en-US design forces you to think before you step en-US onto the tee of each hole. There is a safe and en-US easy play available on each hole. However, en-US the safest shot from the tee may give you en-US the longest or most difficult approach to the en-US green. You have to pick your poison.en-US The par-5s all require you to pay en-US attention. Just because you are laying up, en-US dont think that youre being given an easy en-US shot. Pay attention to the pin position and en-US where you can give yourself the best angle en-US from which to attack it with a short iron. en-US Then, layup to that spot and give yourself a en-US shot at a birdie.en-US The seventh hole is a lot of fun. 18 en-USFORT PIERCE Anyone who has spent en-US any time in Fort Pierce has noticed the comen-US -en-US munity of peacocks that strut their stuff en-US around the streets around Orange Avenue en-US and Seventh Street. The glorious birds stroll en-US across the streets, hang out in the trees, and en-US show off their feathers for passersby. What en-US the peacocks dont know is that on Nov. 10, en-US the district that built itself around them will en-US be celebrating. en-US The inaugural Peacock Arts District en-US Music & Arts Street Festival will take place en-US along Seventh street, between Boston and en-US Orange avenues, and event organizers Angel en-US Webb and Smokey Gage, said this event is en-US going to really put the up and coming arts en-US district on the map.en-US This area is unique in that it folds art, en-US culture and businesses into one, said Ms. en-US Webb, owner of Sunrise City Spa and Yoga en-US Studio. I opened my business in the Arcade en-US Building a couple of years ago, and was en-US absolutely drawn to this neighborhood. en-US There are so many beautiful aspects to this en-US part of Fort Pierce and being able to celeen-US -en-US brate that is humbling.en-US The Peacock Arts District, which sprouten-US -en-US ed from a 2016 meeting between the city of en-US Fort Pierce, citizens and business owners in en-US the area, has an eclectic vibe full of color and en-US a unique flair. Ms. Webbs spa is one of the en-US original businesses of the PAD and shes en-US hoping the street festival will showcase what en-US the area has to offer.en-US Its important that people know whats en-US taking place in the PAD, she said while siten-US -en-US ting on the porch of her Seventh Street spa. en-US The gym (Anytime Fitness) recently en-US opened up on the corner and there are other en-US businesses that are slowly starting to pop up. en-US The hope is that we can encourage other en-US businesses and galleries to open up over en-US here. We are a great addition to Fort Pierce. en-US Not only is downtown thriving, but were en-US starting to feel the uptick over here. Its very en-US exciting. The street festival is the first of its en-US kind on this side of U.S. 1. Its huge for us en-US and for everyone in the area.en-US The festival, initiated by Ms. Webb, and en-US sponsored by the City of Fort Pierce will en-US benefit local veterans, feature live music, en-US vendors, yoga, and arts and crafts. It will en-US also offer those who may not be familiar en-US with the area a chance to interact with PAD en-US business owners, hang out with some peaen-US -en-US cocks, and listen to music by some of Fort en-US Pierces best-known bands.en-US Theres going to be a lot of great music en-US and lots of fun things to do all day, said Mr. en-US Gage. There will be a free commuen-US -en-US nity yoga session in the shaded grassy area en-US on the corner of Seventh and Boston, led by en-US the Traveling Yoginis, while the sounds of en-US Tom an Lisa Darcy fill the air.
