LUCIE COUNTY Almost any morning of the week, motorists driving west on Po rt S t. Lucie Boulevard near Morningside Dr ive glancing to the north might see an unusual sight: a woman painting on an easel in her driveway just steps from the busy street. One might wonder how she can concentrate with all the traffic going by, but Heather P ettersen says she finds the city tranquil compared to living in New Orleans where she used to paint and sell her works in Jackson Square. P ort St. Lucie is a great place to live, especially if youre tired of all the hustle and bustle of city life, Ms. Pettersen said. I sure dont feel the need to keep a can of mace in my pocket when I leave my house like I did in New Orleans. The road she traveled to get here, though, had its ups and downs and was not an easy one. Born in Mobile, Ala,. and adopted by S outhern Baptist missionaries when she was only 18 days old, Ms. Pettersen grew up on the mission field surrounded by culture. After living in India, Spain and South America, she returned to the United States at age 18 to study art with a scholarship at Mississippi College. Her parents fully supported her passion for painting since they were professional musicians themselves. Dont chase your tail when trying to fix your computerSometimes when computers malfunction, the timing can be coincidental causing you to chase your tail around trying to fix it. Most of the time when your computer starts acting squirrelly, its good practice to consider the last thing that happened right before the problem popped up and then try to undo whatever it is that was changed. B ut then again, sometimes undoing the last thing that happened can be a red herring, causing you to spin y our wheels for hours. T ake this email I received from George for instance: "Hi Sean. Read y our articles every week and look forward to them. It's the first article I look for in H ometown News. "Sean, I was having a problem with my M icrosoft mouse, so my son gave me an optical mouse to install. I just disconnected the old one and plugged in the optical mouse and turned the computer on. It began loading files for it and now, every time I turn on the computer, I have to hit F1 to continue loading windows. "Then I'm told that Windows has updated my computer clock and asks me to check it. It is always wrong and I have to correct the month, year and time. "Do you have any ideas what is causing this because it never has done this before? I'm sure it had to do with adding the new mouse (italics added by me). "I recall reading one of your articles where you said most computer problems were due to software added to the computer. Any corrections I can make? "Thank you in advance and please don't stop writing your articles because you certainly have made a big difference to so many of us." George from Po rt S t. Lucie On the surface, it would appear George is on the right track, because he knows that when he added the new hardware (the mouse) and often when new hardware is installed problems can occur. But after reading his email and considering what was going on, I realized that George was about to start "chasing rabbits." This is how I r eplied to George: "Hi. Thanks for r eading! What's happening on your system likely has nothing to do with the new mouse, just coincidence that it started happening at the same time you added a new piece of hardware. "Your machine is probably older than three years, yes? On y our motherboard is a small battery, such as that found in a watch. When that battery runs down, you will have to hit F1 every time you boot and reset the clock. With the battery dead it loses track of time when it powers down and all BIOS settings have to be reset on boot up. Un-plug the system, open the 'can' and look for a watch-like battery (probably about the size of a quarter) and r eplace it. That ought to correct the issue. Hope that helps and thanks again for reading." Sean The next day I opened my e-mail and found the following e-mail from George: "Hello Sean. Thank you so much for the info on the dead battery. I never thought of that and ye s, my machine is over seven years old and I have never opened the 'can,' but the way you explained it, I CO MPUTE THISSE AN MCCARTHY F riday, July 18, 20142Hometown News PORT ST. V isit www.earlstewarttoyota.com, call (561) 358-1474,fax (561) 658-0746 or email earl@estoyota.com.Below, you can read the Facebook exchange between me and a young widow from Arizona. She contacted me to help her buy a car. I chose to write this article about her request, because her fear of car buying is so typical, epidemic in the U.S.A. The annual Gallup poll on E thics and Honesty in Professions, always lists car dealers last or next to last. Many people would prefer to experience a root canal at their dentist than buy a car from their dealer. Those victimized the most are the very young, elderly, less educated, ov erly trusting, and the English language impaired. I chose to make this young womans fear of car buying and my proposed solution the subject of this blog because it is so typical of so many, but who are afraid to speak out and ask for help. With her permission, I will follow up later with what actually happened when she followed my advice to use www.TrueCar.com to buy her car. This is my Facebook dialog with the y oung widow from Arizona: M elinda Nina Wood Nelson: C an I hire y ou to help me to lease a car :) I am a widow. My husband died Sept. 2001. I bought a brand new Ford Expedition off the show floor and paid over $40,000. I got taken because I had never bought a new car before. In the first week an elderly 82 yr. old man took out the passenger side in a Walmart parking lot. He had no insurance. The third year, a woman ran a red light and completely totaled the truck leaving the Vets office after doing an animal rescue and nearly killed me. Again, she was from Mexico and had no insurance. Doing my homework and r esearch I fought with the insurance company and got a decent value to buy another vehicle but still lost tons of money on the lot value at purchase and w ent without a car for nearly 4 months (had to rent). In 2008 I bought a used 2003 N avigator from a dealership in Scottsdale. It was mechanically totaled in the second y ear, after $4,000 in repairs I traded it in to the same dealership for $11,000 in 2010 for a 2010 slightly used Chrysler 300 for $17,000. The total price I ended up paying for the 300 after my trade deduction was... $29,000 including interest at 14 percent. I still have this car and I am still paying it off at $360 a month and still owe almost $11,000. I needed a big SUV because I do animal rescue and have to have large kennels for transport so I bought a 2005 navigator less than a year ago in cash and paid over $250 to have it professionally inspected by a licensed mechanic and test driven. I was given the go ahead to buy the vehicle as 98 out of 100 perecnt mechanically sound. In less than a year I am now looking at a $4,300 repair bill to keep it running and with a/c with a very near future repair coming possible transmission. The Fletcher's mechanic r ecommended I Trade it in while it is still r unning and filled a/c fluid for cold air. My fear is getting taken at a dealership, yet again. I am all most out of money and sick of dealing with car issues and slimy criminal mechanics who charge too much and do not even do anything but make things worse. I have to date lost nearly $60,000 in car loss. I am a good, honest person who saves animals through my rescue. I need a lil karma from my Karma savings account :) Will y ou please help? I can pay you $100 an hour for up to 3 hours by phone (if a dealer can even finish a deal in that time...doubtful). What do you say...wanna be my gun for hire. To get a feel for who I am please go to my Facebook pages at, S tarbarks Pet Rescue or my personal page, M elinda Nina Wood Nelson. Thank you for taking the time to read my very long message Sir. Have a great day. Earl Stewart: M elinda, I won't accept payment but I would be happy to help y ou lease the car of your choice at a fair price. I suggest you go to www.TrueCar.com. Kids 6 and under FREE P AL Center 903 South 21stStr eet Fort Pierce Golf club offers beautiful greens, challenging coursePORT ST. LUCIE For the past 26 y ears, Savanna Golf Club in Port St. L ucie has offered locals a perfect place to walk the greens. M anaged by Wayne Huffins, this picturesque executive golf course offers challenges, gorgeous scenery and of course, a chance to enjoy the natural beauty of south Florida. The popular course, designed by Charles Ankrom, plays to a par of 61 and measures just over 3,800-yards from the longest of three sets of tees. The course opened in 1988 as the focal point of the retirement community in which is sits. The course is small, making walking is very easy. R ecently, Hometown News golf columnist James Stammer wrote a r eview of the course: The greens at Savanna Club are w ell guarded and framed with mounding, bunkers, trees or water. While the holes may not be long, the par-4s feature fairways that have some rolling undulations to them in addition to well-placed fairway bunkers, Mr. Stammer said in his column. He continued: There are a dozen par-3s, the shortest of which is just 113 yards long, and the longest comes in at a stout 197 yards. Best of all, they are not all nearly the same length. Looking back on my round, I r ealized that I hit eight different clubs from the tees on those 12 par3s. Y ou will find five par-4s and a single par-5 at Savanna Club. At just 460-yards from the tips, playing the par-5 13th could make you feel like a touring professional with a chance to make eagle after a well-placed drive and a daring second. While there is water around, it doesnt really come into play except on a few holes. There are also few forced carries over water or wetlands here. My favorite hole, the 348-yard, par-4, sixth has two forced carries, one off the tee and another to the green. The best angle to attack the green is from the right side of the fairway. This however, brings the most water into play on your second shot. Its an Ankrom design trademark. A ccuracy is well rewarded at Sav anna Club. There is no need to pull the driver out of the bag. You can use fairway woods or hybrids to set up easier approaches into the par-4s. The greens complexes will eat you up if you dont hit the putting surface. Miss the green and you will find yourself with some tricky chips and bunker shots. Add in the gently r olling greens and your putter may get a good workout trying to make pars, he concluded. Sav anna Club is open to the public and the summer rates are very competitive. Yo u re very welcome and dont feel bad about admitting your difficulty buying a car. Most people have the same difficulty, and its not your or their fault; its the anachronistic, unethical and often illegal way most car dealers sell cars today. I would like to ask a favor of you. I write a w eekly blog, advising car buyers just as I am advising you now. May I use our F acebook dialog in my blog, www.EarlSte wartOnCars.com this week? If you prefer, I could redact your name. Please let me know this morning, if possible. B ecause your situation is so typical, I believe your real life story would greatly benefit many others. If you agree, we can follow up next week with how you fared followed my advice. Thanks very much. :) M elinda Nina Wood Nelson: Yes, you may use my name and my message. I appreciate all you do for folks like me. Thank you :) When I hear back from Melinda as to how her TrueCar purchase experience w ent, I will relate it to you in an upcoming column.StewartF rom page 3

Ball game pricesS t. Lucie Mets game tickets were $8 each on July 4? The Mets offer very few discounts if any, and we always hear or r ead about promotions after the fact. When my kids were young the town we lived in had a farm team of the Toronto B lue Jays. Back then they had promotions and we would go to many games every season. You met interesting people and would see them at nearly every game. Monday night was always church bulletin night. A whole family was admitted free by bringing in their church bulletin. The stands were always full with families. I guess the money was made off the concessions as every family would be having hot dogs and cokes. Thus making memories for all involved at a price that a family could afford. I am just thinking that the Mets could maybe give back a little.About minimum wageOwning a service business required visiting accounts located in several counties. Over time, I became acquainted with families in the rural communities. Being a country boy and having grown up in the cotton fields, it was always tempting to lend a helping hand to my own kind. After watching a couple high-school boys progress through their senior year, I offered them jobs upon graduating. One of the young men was the local basketball star and the other was the son of a pastor. They were bright, clean cut and eager to gain employment. We we re all excited. Their starting pay was somewhere above the minimum wage. At the time, I thought how nice it would be if they learned the business and someday took it over. Having no one to leave the business to, why not? It was a fleeting thought. At 8 a.m. on his first day, the basketball player was asked to sweep the floor. The floor area was about thirty-five feet wide and the same in length. As soon as youre finished well do a few service calls, I said. When five oclock came, he was still sweeping. Around and around he swept, never quite getting the dirt corralled. The poor fellow was in over his head. He had never used a broom. The next day he w ent out with a service crew to pick up and deliver equipment. The pastors son worked diligently, learned fast, and had a knack for repairing electronics, which was very helpful. I was very encouraged. One out of two. F ifty percent isnt bad. A week passed and after consulting with my foreman it was decided that the basketball player was out of his league. It seemed there was not one job he was capable of doing, regardless of how simple. A high school graduate regrettably we had to let him go. The pastors son advanced to the point that he worked alone servicing the equipment. After a couple pay raises he bought a new Mustang Cobra and had everything going his way. It was encouragingbuthis appearance had started to spiral downward. He would come to work with long dirty matted hair, unshaven and clothes that looked as if he had slept in them. His body odor preceded him. He was the antithesis of a company service representative. I took him aside, one on one, talking to him about his appearance. Reasoning was not in the cards. Rolling his eyes back in his head he said, You mean you want me to look like you? I gave him leeway and tried to overlook his total absence of childhood rearing. The large truck we used to move equipment blew an engine. New engines we re expensive. Then the transmission w ent out. They too were expensive. It was later revealed that he liked to drag race with the big white truck. Se veral days later a phone call in the w ee hours of the morning woke me. It was the police. They had found the y oung man and one of his friends in our office building smoking pot. I immediately dressed and drove to the office. My first words were, youre fired, get off the premises. I then asked the police officer to remove them from the property. What does all this have to do with minimum wage? Just this! I dont mind teaching a person a trade with the expectation of the individual becoming a loyal employee. But Ill be darned if Im going to pay someone for the privilege of teaching them what their parents should have taught them while they were growing up. Y oung people today do not know how to work! Period. The minimum wage is not a wage that will provide a person with all of their wants or needs. Its for a time in which they learn to work. Then its up to them. If one cannot prove to their employer that they are worthy of a pay increasethen they dont deserve it. Of the two examples, the basketball player was the best employee. We never found anything that he could do, but all he cost were his wages. The pastors son cost the business wages, a new engine, transmission, tires and gave the company a bad reputation. If you think youre worth more than the minimum wage, prove it. Every employer out there is looking for people who are worth more than the minimum and will gladly pay to get them. To paraphrase Henry Ford: If people will stop searching for a job and start looking for work there will be full employment. What a concept. ed plenty of art supplies for me to explore and develop my abilities, she said. Q uickly disillusioned with the structure of art school and feeling her creativity stifled, Ms. Pettersen decided to strike out on her own and support herself doing odd jobs in order to paint. She ultimately ended up in the corporate world and got married, but soon found herself in an abusive relationship that lasted seven years. It had taken a toll on her by the time she got out of it, and she ended up strung out on drugs on the streets of Dallas. She credits God with giving her the grace to look up at that point in her life and quit drugs completely. This was not the life I wanted to live for it was nothing but misery, Ms. Pettersen said. S he subsequently got employment painting back drops for photographers and before long began to exhibit her own work in galleries shows across the country. She felt so blessed that she decided to return to her native state of Alabama in 2006 and open up a nonprofit art center for abused women and children called Alabama Art with Heart. She and another artist worked handin-hand helping raise funds for the local childrens hospital, hospice and other organizations until Ms. P ettersen decided to resign and move to New Orleans in 2009. S he found so much success selling her artworks in N ew Orleans that she had to work seven days a week to keep up with demand. She discovered Tai Chi at this time and began practicing it for to help ease the stress of her success. Ev erything seemed to be falling into place for her when, out of the blue, detectives found her in Louisiana and arrested her for a drug purchase she had made six y ears before while in Dallas. I nstead of trying to fight the charges, Ms. Pettersen pled guilty and served nine months in a federal prison in north Florida. Life isnt always fair, the artist said. No one seemed to care that I had been drugfree for over five years and had started a nonprofit organization to benefit my hometown community. Ms. Pettersen says she saw the hand of God in the experience, and the time flew by as she taught her fellow inmates art and continued practicing the little Tai Chi she knew. By the time she was released, she had determined to learn Tai Chi from a master rather than just dabble in it. That search led her first to the Treasure C oast in 2012, then to Fort Lauderdale, without finding the instructor she was looking for. She had almost decided to return to New Orleans when someone told her about Master Chens Wellness Center in Stuart. S he subsequently returned to Port St. Lucie in January 2014 and has been steadily painting in her garage studio and studying with Master Chen ever since. Now 42, she says the long road it took her to end up in Port St. L ucie has made her who she is today. They say it is not about reaching the finish line, but r ather its about the journey, Ms. Pettersen said. This one has been an adventure to say the least. think I can do that. I will let you know how I make out. Again thank y ou so much for your help." And the day after that: "Hello S ean. Just a follow up on your advice r egarding replacing the computer's battery. It worked like a charm. I looked in the computer manual to find the info on the battery (CR2032), purchased a replacement from Radio Shack, opened the 'can' and even I accomplished this task. W ill wonders never end? Again, thank you so much for your help and keep writing those interesting and informative columns in Hometown News." J ust as I suspected! Consider just how much time could have been wasted had we not thought about what was going on and instead just assumed that the change of hardware was the culprit. I can't help but think just how many older systems are still in service out there and how many people are having to hit the F1 button every time they have to boot. If this sounds like you, try replacing the battery; you may have the same success as George. We also have a Victims Assistance Program which offers much needed support to a victim or friend or family member of a victim of any type of violent crime. The Sexual Assault Victims Program provides support to the victim as soon as the crime is reported. There is a rape crisis hotline that either a victim, friend of the victim, law enforcement agent or a doctor or nurse can call to begin the process. Once the call has been made, an advocate will meet with the victim, sometimes in the hospital, and help them through the process of r eporting the crime, preparing for any physical exams and follow through with them until they have faced their perpetrator in court. This is a terrifying experience and its vital that the victim know there are people who understand and can help them, Ms. Amandro said. We can offer things such as changing the locks on their doors at home to make them feel safer, to even assisting with relocation. The victims have to know that there is a way to feel a level of safety and that they can depend on someone. It s such a very important part of the healing process. The Victims Services program can assist in finding counseling for victims and support groups which can help them begin to heal. The Victims Services Program depends on volunteers to assist the many cases it sees. Right now we only have five volunteers for the entire four county area, Ms. Amandro said. When people are here from up north, we tend to have more volunteers, but now they have gone home for the summer and we are really in desperate need for help. V olunteers must pass a background check and participate in training hours and on-the-job training. O ur volunteers meet with victims at the hospital and follow through with them through court proceedings, depositions, giving them a shoulder to lean on and just being there in every sense for the victim, Ms. Amandro said. Our volunteers make so much difference in the lives of each victim. They are their voice when it seems they have none. The Victims Services 24-hour hotline is (800) 569-7273.The 24-hour rape crisis hot line is 1-866-828-7273. When Mr. Tillman talks barbeque, his face lights up and its easy to see, and taste, that his pride is heavily infused in his art: cooking. On a recent trip to Tillmans Famous Barbecue, I was delighted to try some good, old-fashioned, smoked meat with home cooked sides like macaroni and cheese, baked beans and collard greens. P eople eat with eyes first, said Mr. Tillman as we waited for our lunch to arrive. Its about presentation, the smell, and people love good barbecue. Mr. Tillman bought his first food truck with the help of his grandparents when he was 17. He soon talked a stranger into letting him have an old barbeque grill that was rusting away in her back yard. After months of persuasion, she relented and gave him her recently deceased husbands pride and joy. I told her that I would continue the legacy and make her proud, Mr. Tillman said with a twinkle in his eye. I nursed the grill back to health. I polished it, fixed it, cleaned it and made sure it was ready. Soon, a guy I knew asked if I was just going to look at it or actually cook on it. And that was it. Fr om then on, I dabbled with sauces, meats and the r est, you could say, is barbecue history. Mr. Tillman has perfected his craft, making some of the most mouth-watering sauces, including a new creation out of his kitchen, the lip-smacking barbecue sauce. S ome of my employees we re in the back experimenting with the sauces and they brought this one to me, he said while we enjoyed perfectly smoked ribs covered in the new sauce. As I was eating it, I thought, I have to come up with a name for this and I was smacking my lips because it was so good, and then I knew that was the name the lip-smacking barbecue sauce. Mr. Tillman insisted that my guest and I try the barbeque ribs, chicken, rib tips, and sample some of the side dishes available. The ribs were incredibly tender with the perfect mix of spices. Since I base a lot of my topics on emails I receive, one topic that has been very active is crabgrass. Cr abgrass is a very common problem in many of our lawns. Crabgrass is actually a summer annual that germinates each y ear, mainly in the summer although in our area of Florida, crabgrass can be a nuisance almost all season. Since crabgrass tends to grow in large bunches, it can rapidly take over a lawn especially if it is not in the best of health. A single crabgrass plant can produce as many as 150,000 seeds! That is why the problem may seem to multiply season after season. Crabgrass is not only a problem in Florida but is a problem throughout the U.S. Cr abgrass is not only a nuisance, but it can be often difficult to control. Many of the herbicides that you can get over the counter are only effective if you have a lawn other than St. Augustine. M ost crabgrass killers are actually herbicides for killing broadleaf weeds and this type of herbicide can cause browning of your lawn if it is St. Augustine or Floratam. For tunately, most crabgrass infestations are in other types of lawns such as B ahia and Bermuda grasses. If you have these lawn types you can use a crabgrass killer with good results I emphasize that this type of treatment will only prevent the crabgrass that has not yet germinated. You can find these products at many local garden and hardware stores. Although y ou should follow label directions carefully, there are some general guidelines you should consider. Always apply the herbicide uniformly across y our lawn as if you miss any areas, the seedlings will have an opportunity to germinate and do their thing. In addition, do not de-thatch your lawn immediately after applying the herbicide as the chemical barrier will be broken. Do not use a pre-emergent herbicide if you already have an infestation. In this case you should use a post-emergent herbicide to kill the existing crabgrass. If over the counter measures do not do the trick, then the use of a professional lawn service would be advisable. I want to again stress that you read the directions carefully and follow them precisely to avoid damaging your lawn or the environment. If you have the St. Augustine variety, y ou should only use Atrazine for your w eed control needs. Although it will not be as effective as the other herbicides, it will provide a safe treatment that will not brown out your Floratam lawn. Atr azine is the active ingredient in such products as Scotts Bonus-S along with other brands of Floratam weed control products. B efore using any insecticide or herbicide, follow safe practices and use r ubber gloves, safety glasses and a chemical respirator (if you are going to be spraying the product). Always use the appropriate amounts as excess chemical can make its way to the groundwater and contaminate your w ell. If you get the chemical on your skin, flush immediately with fresh water. Remember that many chemicals are absorbed directly into your bloodstream and can cause long-term problems if enough is allowed to enter y our body. If you ever have any unusual symptoms after using a chemical lawn product, contact your doctor and take the bottle of the suspected poison with y ou. some of the sauces available, including the Tangy Mustard Barbeque Sauce. It was an incredible addition to an already perfect rib. The BBQ chicken was juicy and the meat nearly fell off the bone and almost melted when eaten. We tried the Tangy M ustard sauce on the chicken and it added just the right amount of tangy and just the right amount of sweet. D inners are served with a side dish and garlic bread. I dont know how anyone can choose between all of the amazing choices. We were fortunate enough to sample some of the sides, including homemade macaroni and cheese, brown sugar baked beans, collard greens, coleslaw and potato salad. All of the sides taste like homemade and are definitely tops on my list. I doubt there will be any room left after eating the delicious barbecue, but if so, there are incredible cakes available for dessert. Mr. Tillman gave me a piece of lemon cake to take home with me. The cake was incredible. My advice: even if youre too full for it at the restaur ant, take some home for later. You wont regret it. A quick trip south offers a great golfing experience One of the best things about living on Florida's east coast is all of the great golf courses available within a short drive of home. One of my favorite is the Greg Norman S ignature Golf Course at Jupiter C ountry Club. One of Norman's newest designs opened just five years ago and has filled its private membership at a r ecord pace. This past weekend I, along with a few colleagues, headed to J upiter to see for ourselves just what the attraction is. From the moment we entered the property through the T uscan-inspired entrance and its hints of the charming Italian village atmosphere beyond, we knew why. This Toll Brothers jewel, a 480-acre community, is situated conveniently just west of Florida's Turnpike on I ndiantown Road in Jupiter. The centerpiece of the community is its 18hole Greg Norman Signature Golf C ourse. The course features five sets of tees to properly challenge and entertain golfers of all abilities. From the tips the course plays to a very stout 7,228 yards. How ever, short knockers should fear not. The other tees can play as short as 5,289 yards. Some members have taken to using different combinations of tees during their round to get the r ight fit for their game or their mood. In some cases they do this to make the course play entirely different from day to day. Known for using the natural topogr aphy of the land he's given, Norman moved just the right amount of dirt around for his course here. Incorporating nature preserves and more than a dozen lakes into his design, the course was given an overall native character, with large wetland preserves in the center. It features generous fairways defined by large, sweeping bunkers. Orange coquina shell waste bunkers add definition and character to several holes. Landscaping draws from native plants including Pine Flatwoods, Oaks and Sabal Palms. "I think Greg Norman had some help from Lawrence of Arabia," quipped one member of our group. "I enjoyed a lot of time in the sand today." While the bunkers can snatch a wayward shot, they also help to frame each fairway and green. I did find it odd that Norman seemed to save the narrowest fairways for the par-5s. For the most part there is a lot of room off the tee. I was also pleased to find the fairways playing hard and fast. I have never enjoyed the kind of roll on drives that I did here. I likely hit some of my longest drives in years, as did everyone in our group. The greens are surprisingly excellent considering the odd winter weather that we experienced this year. Kudos to the maintenance staff as these are as good as any I've played in quite some time. They roll true and have just enough undulation in them to make every putt require your full attention. The course has a solid variety of holes, including a short par-4 to tempt y ou to roll up your sleeves and drive the green. There is one par-5 that only the longest hitters will reach in two, and another that most everyone has a chance of reaching in two. The 18-hole course, which is the centerpiece of this community, has exceeding members expectations. Toll Br others serves a sophisticated market that knows the difference between a great course and a mediocre one. O ur group also knows the difference and as we walked off the 18th green, the thumbs-up was unanimous. O ther amenities at Jupiter Country Club include a Grande Clubhouse with a main dining room, private dining area, mens and womens locker facilities with card rooms, and golf pro shop. In addition, a separate health and fitness center have a casual outdoor dining area to serve golf, tennis and pool patrons; family swimming pool and adult-only swimming pool; fitness area; separate aerobics room, and mens and womens locker facilities; sports shop with fitness and tennis merchandise; and six lighted clay tennis courts.
