en-US 4 en-USDont blame your computer, blame your Internet speeden-USMen-USany people are surprised (shocked en-US even) when they replace their en-US ancient computer with a brand en-US spanking new machine with 10 times the en-US horsepower than their old one but their en-US new computer still crawls at a snails pace en-US when connected to the internet. en-US I often get calls from frustrated people en-US who tell me stories like I just got a new en-US machine but my home page takes forever to en-US load or every time I try to watch a video en-US online, it freezes, goes for a bit then stops en-US again over and over! I cant stand it! The en-US frustration is usually mixed with confusion en-US because they figure that, since its a new en-US machine with gobs of ram and all sorts of en-US processor power, it should be much faster en-US than their old machine. en-US Now as a rule this is usually true their en-US new machine is actually much faster than en-US their old machine and if you set the two of en-US them up side by side youll see the new one en-US start up much faster, open programs much en-US faster and visibly outperform the old en-US machine with every test you throw at it. en-US That is until you start doing things that en-US depend upon a fast internet connection. en-US You know, things like watching a en-US YouTube video or waiting for a page like the en-US Yahoo portal to load. Then, if the internet en-US connection is not what it should be, things en-US grind to a halt and start working at the en-US same pace as the old machine.en-US When people start off by telling me that en-US watching videos over the internet is en-US frustrating because it pauses and skips, I en-US usually tell them about the old work around en-US of starting the video and then immediately en-US hitting the pause button for a while. (I still en-US use this technique just to make sure, en-US especially if its a long video Ill start the en-US video then pause it and go get a cup of en-US coffee or something. Then when I come en-US back Ill hit play and it usually plays without en-US a hitch). What were doing by starting it and en-US pausing for a while is giving the data stream en-US a good head start before releasing the play en-US head in the hopes that the point of the en-US video that we are watching doesnt catch up en-US with the data stream thats downloading. If en-US the internet connection is slow and we hit en-US play and dont hit the pause button, the en-US video will sometimes play faster than the en-US computer can download the data that en-US makes up the video and the whole thing en-US stops while it downloads a bit more. This en-US process is called buffering and has more en-US to do with the speed of the internet en-US connection than it does with the speed of en-US the computer. Pause the video and give the en-US data stream plenty of time to buffer and en-US when you hit the play button again the play en-US head wont have a chance of catching the en-US data stream and it should play smoothly. en-US With YouTube videos you can even see it en-US in action start a video and hit pause, then en-US watch and youll see a thin red line start to en-US grow from the left to the right even though en-US the video isnt playing. That line is an en-US indication of how much of the data stream en-US is downloaded and the trick is to make sure en-US its far enough ahead. Catch up to the line en-US and the video will pause and try to buffer en-US on its own but usually the automatic en-US buffering doesnt give the data stream en-US enough of a head start and the process en-US repeats itself over and over.en-US OK so we know that even a brand new en-US computer will come to a screeching halt if en-US its trying to do something over a slow en-US internet connection but how does one go en-US about testing that? One way to check is to en-US fire up your web browser and go to en-US www.en-US speedtest.neten-US and click the Go button. en-US (Caution the button you want to click is en-US labeled Go Ignore any ads that may load en-US first with misleading buttons!) en-US This will run a series of tests and give you en-US a good idea of just what your download and en-US upload speeds are measured in Mega Bits en-US Per Second (MBPS). One rule of thumb is en-US you want to see at least two MBPS to be able en-US to watch internet video streaming without it en-US constantly buffering and the en-US speedtest.neten-US en-US website will tell you just what kind of downen-US -en-US load speeds youre getting. Get anything en-US lower than two MBPS and its time to call en-US your internet provider and complain, after en-US all a brand new computer deserves a en-US lightning fast connection dont you think?en-US Sean McCarthy fixes computers. It would seem appropriate en-US to wait as long as possible in the year en-US before taking the distribution. This en-US would maximize the tax deferred build en-US up. Of course, that assumes positive en-US growth of the account.en-US The RMD calculation is based on the IRA or IRAs valuation on Dec. 31 of en-USthe previous year. So, unfortunately, en-US one may have to take a distribution en-US during a down time in the market, but en-US the RMD amount is based on the Dec. 31 valuation. This definitely is a en-USnegative consequence for waiting until en-US later in the year with a down trending en-US market.en-US If we consider the event of our death en-US before taking our RMD for the year, we en-US need to consider how that might affect en-US the IRA beneficiaries. If the RMD has en-US not been taken before death, then the en-US beneficiaries must take the RMD in en-US their names Not the Estate. The en-US later in the year death occurs, the more en-US problematic the situation. There may en-US be very little time for the beneficiaries en-US to get things organized.en-US If they miss the end of year mandaen-US -en-US tory distribution, they will probably en-US have to deal with the 50 percent penalen-US -en-US ty. It is possible this can be rectified, en-US but not without some discomfort. en-US Taking the RMD early in the year en-US makes sense. It eliminates the proben-US -en-US lems for the beneficiaries. They can en-US now wait until the end of the following en-US year before taking an RMD from the en-US inherited IRA. By taking it early, the en-US December 31 value and the market en-US value at RMD should be very close. If en-US the market is up, then gains would be en-US utilized for the RMD requirement. If en-US the market is low, (the IRA valuation en-US would be low) requiring a smaller en-US RMD.en-US If the RMD funds are not needed for en-US income, they can be reinvested into the en-US market or other programsen-US for additional potential growth. en-US Just something to consider. Resolutions discourage single-use plastics en-USBREVARD COUNTY On June 20, en-US Satellite Beach became the second locality en-US in Brevard to adopt a resolution focused en-US on single-use plastic items.en-US The resolution is specifically aimed at en-US encouraging residents and businesses to en-US discontinue their use of plastic drinking en-US straws, plastic stirring sticks and similar en-US items.en-US On June 18, Indialantic adopted a simien-US -en-US lar resolution which was, in fact, used en-US as the basis for the resolution in Satellite en-US Beach.en-US Indialantics resolution encourages resien-US -en-US dents, businesses and visitors to reduce en-US their use of plastic straws, while also namen-US -en-US ing other items it hopes people will use en-US less often, including water and soda boten-US-en-US tles, plastic lids, plastic bags, plastic utenen-US -en-US sils and polystyrene containers.en-US Both resolutions suggest that businessen-US-en-US es provide metal, paper or other biodeen-US -en-US gradable straws and stirring sticks as a en-US substitute and only provide plastic ones en-US on request.en-US One of the main goals of each resoluen-US -en-US tion is to work toward cleaner waterways, en-US including the Indian River Lagoon.en-US An estimated 500 million straws are en-US used daily in the United States; and plastic en-US drinking straws deposited in the Indian en-US River, on the beach, or washed up onto en-US the beach pose a great threat to marine en-US and other wildlife, reads Indialantics resen-US -en-US olution.en-US The cost of trying to make our beachen-US -en-US es, the ocean, and the Indian River en-US Lagoon clean and safe increases due, in en-US part, to the need to remove plastic drinken-US-en-US ing straws, the resolution continues.en-US In addition to discussing the reduction en-US of plastic items, Indialantics resolution en-US includes language on reusing and recyen-US -en-US cling, as well as officially recognizing en-US businesses that support, initiate and en-US commit to a single-use plastics and EPS en-US [expanded polystyrene] reduction proen-US-en-US gram.en-US Neither resolution constitutes a ban. en-US Rather, they are meant to formalize each en-US localitys position on the use of disposable en-US plastic items.en-US The resolution is not an actionable, en-US enforceable item, said Karen Wade, a volen-US -en-US unteer with the Brevard chapter of en-US Rethink Energy Florida who collaborated en-US with both cities on their resolutions. It en-US doesnt say, hey were banning straws. The en-US cops are not going to come to your restauen-US -en-US rant.en-US Its more symbolic, Ms. Wade continen-US -en-US ued. We really want to move in this en-US direction and encourage people to move en-US in this direction. Its about sending a mesen-US-en-US sage.en-US It gives a good platform to stand on en-US that is supported by the Council, added en-US Nicholas Frank Sanzone, environmental en-US programs coordinator with the city of Saten-US-en-US ellite Beach and a member of the citys en-US Sustainability Board, which initially proen-US-en-US posed the resolution within the city.en-US Some restaurants in Satellite Beach en-US have already begun to reduce their use of en-US plastic straws and other disposable plasen-US-en-US tics, Mr. Sanzone noted. en-US But if the board approaches local busien-US -en-US nesses who have not yet moved toward en-US reducing their use of plastic, the resoluen-US -en-US tion can provide a talking point while en-US plastic reduction programs by area orgaen-US-en-US nizations can serve as a model.en-US The Sustainability Board began disen-US -en-US cussing a plastic reduction initiative en-US March, Mr. Sanzone said.en-US Each member was bringing up good en-US ideas and ultimately they had decided that en-US it would be better to support existing proen-US-en-US grams like KBB [Keep Brevard Beautiful], en-US MRC [the Marine Resources Council], en-US and Surfrider [the Sebastian Inlet chapter en-US of the Surfrider Foundation] instead of en-US recreating something that already exists, en-US Mr. Sanzone noted. en-US Then in May, Ms. Wade noted, she en-US approached the board to pursue a collaben-US -en-US oration. After she had worked with Indien-US -en-US alantics Town Council on its resolution, en-US she asked the town for permission to use en-US its document as a sample to bring to other en-US localities, including Satellite Beach.en-US Next, Mr. Sanzone said, he worked with en-US city staff and lawyers to modify the lanen-US-en-US guage for the citys purposes.en-US Ms. Wade said she plans to continue en-US working with other localities around the en-UScounty on resolutions and has already en-US made contact with Cocoa, Cocoa Beach en-US and Titusville.en-US She also said she is in the process of en-US starting a co-op program for restaurants en-US who want to purchase biodegradable en-US products but find the cost prohibitive.en-US For more information about the city of en-US Satellite Beach sustainability board, go to en-US By Jamie Desena-McFarlanden-USFor Hometown News en-GBGet it o your chest. Everyone reading this is en-US probably saying the same thing. Maybe I en-US should write a book, How to Stock a en-US Refrigerator for Dummies. People would en-US probably be too embarrassed to buy it. Of en-US course I could sell it online. That way no one en-US would see you carrying it home. I could en-US always publish it with a plain cover. Just a en-US picture of a refrigeration with one of those en-US warning symbols on it like a circle with a line en-US through it. en-US OK, OK, what am I complaining about this en-US time?en-US Have you looked at your fridge lately? I bet en-US nothing is in the right place. If its like my en-US home, you store food on any empty space you en-US find no matter what it is. I am constantly en-US opening the door and condiments come en-US flying off the door shelf or small bottles are en-US slipping between the holders in the door and en-US open spaces in the bottom rack and fall to the en-US floor and break. en-US And how about those plastic containers en-US that berries come in? They never close en-US properly, and when they fall on the floor en-US berries roll everywhere.en-US Get the picture? en-US Just for the record, there is a proper en-US procedure for storing food safely. Yes, safely en-US because someone could get sick from en-US cross-contamination. I bet I have your en-US attention now!en-US Unfortunately household refrigerators are en-US not designed like commercial units, which en-US have no door shelves or vegetable crisper or en-US egg storage compartment in the door. Instead, en-US commercial coolers have several open shelves, en-US which are adjustable. Food must be stored in en-US a certain pattern to keep it safe, which is en-US different than what we do at home. en-US On the top shelf, store ready-to-eat food, en-US produce, dairy, cheese and cooked leftovers. en-US The second shelf is for fresh seafood (if you en-US buy it fresh), if not, keep it frozen until time to en-US use. The third shelf is for raw ground meats en-US and the bottom shelf for raw poultry. Eggs en-US should stay in the cartons they came in to en-US ensure freshness and safety.en-US Storing in this manner may be difficult at en-US times. Always wrap food properly and store en-US in plastic bags or containers to avoid the en-US transfer of juices from one food to another. en-US That is the key. en-US Buy a good refrigerator thermometer to en-US check temperatures so food is in the safe zone en-US of 41 degrees or lower. Oh, and for those door en-US shelves, buy some plastic containers at the en-US dollar stores that fit in the shelf, that way en-US nothing will fall through the bottom. en-US Hope this all helps. It starts with en-US maximum forgiveness created by an en-US advanced multi-material construction. The en-US precision milled wire frame is incorporated en-US into each model that allows the weight to en-US shift to areas of the putter to improve en-US stability on off-center shots.Odyssey has en-US significantly increased the MOI for more en-US consistent ball speeds and accuracy.en-US With the lightweight 6061 milled en-US aluminum in the center, Odyssey took the en-US weight away from the center of the head and en-US redistributed it into the perimeter of the en-US head, which is made of 17-4 stainless steel.en-US The EXO putters merge with the en-US legendary White Hot (polymer face insert) en-US feel and the Microhinge insert. The latter en-US insert providing an immediate roll of the en-US ball. TheWhite Hot is one of the most en-US successful inserts of all time with its en-US revolutionary feel, incredible sound, and en-US iconic performance. The vented channel en-US grooves on the sole and flange, further en-US improve aim characteristics. en-US Models are available with the Stealth en-US Black Matte finish and feature an aggressive en-US Bettinardi face milling technology named en-US the Super-Flymill, which creates both the en-US consistent speed and feel expected and en-US demanded by the worlds best players, as en-US well improved feedback for a softer and en-US crisper feel at impact.en-US Previous models used the Micro en-US Honeycomb milling methodology, which en-US according to Bobby, did not deliver as soft en-US of a feel as the Super-Flymill tends to en-US deliver. en-US Ping Sigma G Tyne H Black Nickel (en-US www.en-US ping.comen-US ). This softer feel and consistent en-US ball speeds will help you sink more putts en-US than ever. en-US The prongs show the heads path away en-US from the ball, and the single sightline really en-US focuses attention on your intended impact en-US location. en-US The high-energy Pebax elastomer insert en-US behind the 370 gram anodized 6061 en-US aluminum face provides a soft feel without en-US slowing ball speed and ensures full-face en-US forgiveness and consistent distance control. en-US Combined with PINGs True Roll Face en-US Technology, expect improved consistency en-US and fewer three-putts. en-US SeeMore Private Reserve Platinum M7x en-US (en-US seemore.comen-US). Players who putt en-US well do two things consistently on the en-US greens; they line up accurately and they conen-US -en-US trol their distance well. en-US TheHappy Putter Eye Align Series en-US Puttersare designed with value and superior en-US alignment in mind. These putters feature en-US three different alignment guides and four en-US different sole weights (two heavy, two light) en-US to customize the feel and aesthetics of the en-US putter. The anti-skid face technology en-US ensures a true roll and reactive response, en-US putt after putt. The blade putter includes en-US adjustable weights to personalize your en-US stroke and control your distance. The three en-US interchangeable alignment guides are en-US designed to appeal to various preferences, en-US resulting in a truly personalized putter. en-US His newest iteration is the Happy Putter en-US which, according to Vikram, the Happy en-US Putter is the only putter on the market that en-US addresses Lazy Eye Syndrome." The more en-US familiar golfers become with a putter, the en-US less their eyes focus. The Happy Putter en-US allows golfers to refresh their eyes and en-US switch their alignment guides without en-US having to buy a new putter. en-US James Stammer has been an avid golfer en-US and golf enthusiast for nearly 40 years. Secured by the en-US Friends of the Childrens Advocacy Cenen-US-en-US ter of Brevard, the state funding went en-US toward a suite for the advocacy center so en-US that program could have a permanent en-US location.en-US The fact sheet also points out that the en-US city of Rockledge granted the project en-US $10,000 to support the revitalization of en-US Rockledge along the U.S. 1 corridor.en-US The remaining funds were provided by en-US the foundation, which held grand openen-US-en-US ing events at the center July 11 and 12.en-US For more information about the Space en-US Coast Health Foundation, visit en-US schfbreen-US -en-US By Jamie Desena-McFarlanden-USFor Hometown News
