It's called a privacy en-US fence for a reason!en-US I demand my privacy and will legally en-US retain it at any cost!en-USNatural rolling papers break down en-US faster than cigarette filtersen-USIn response to your question about Why en-US Smoking in Public is Still Legal . Ask your en-US higher self these questions and quietly listen en-US for the answers. en-US It doesn't have to be seen in a negative en-US light. I agree, the filters from cigarettes are a en-US worldwide issue.en-US I pick them up if possible. en-US I've also heard of people using them as en-US fiber for arts and crafts. As far as the act of en-US smoking, whether it be tobacco, mullein, en-US lavender, marijuana, or whatever plant one en-US chooses to smoke, I can only offer a suggesen-US-en-US tion natural rolling papers that will break en-US down faster than filters. en-US Why do people smoke? Why do people en-US eat chocolate? Tomatoes, tomatos? en-USWe cant continue to pile up en-US problems for future generationsen-USI read an article this morning Why the en-US Middle Class Cant Afford Life in America en-US Anymore (en-US NY Posten-US) and it got me thinking . en-US its really true!en-US My children will never have the same level en-US of comfort that my husband and I have had. en-US I cant even imagine what the future holds en-US for my grandchildren. en-US Climate change may very well change life en-US on earth. Add to that the fact that our retireen-US-en-US ment years are more uncertain today than en-US ever before. en-US Not only have we allowed the economy to en-US implode, weve made sure that the next genen-US -en-US erations life expectancy is years less than en-US ours. en-US How did we let this happen? en-US I think its apathy. We saw things that were en-US happening but thought that someone else en-US would do something about it. I remember en-US the saying We are the ones weve been waiten-US-en-US ing for and we didnt even realize it.en-US We cant continue to pile up all these proben-US -en-US lems for future generations to solve. Do en-US something do anything but get up and en-US make a difference in your community. en-US Just as ripples spread out when a single en-US pebble is dropped into water, the actions of en-US individuals can have far-reaching effects. en-US (Dalai Lama)en-USReader apologizes for disable en-USFlorida's flags a'flying en-USAlex Schierholtz/Staff photographeren-USPeople carry various flags during the parade of state flags, which en-US was part of the Lifting Up God & Country on Wednesday July 4 at en-US Wickham Park in Melbourne. en-USveteran plate misstatementen-US My article stated a car plate with only en-US three letters (DVM), using a handicap space, en-US didn't stand for Disabled Veteran. en-US That was confirmed when I called the en-US DMV. en-US I may have been given wrong information en-US by the DMV.en-US I should have looked at the bottom of the en-US plate.en-US If valid it would state Disable Veteran on en-US the bottom of the plate. en-US I didn't look there and this was a mistake en-US on my part. Many of you know I have en-US fought several life threatening medical en-US conditions, such as an ascending and en-US descending aortic dissection, stroke, and en-US multiple operations. These, however, have en-US not affected my life so much as my eight-en-US year struggle with fibromyalgia.en-USFor many years I have been plagued by en-US lower back and sciatica pain. My primary en-US care doctor has observed me for 30 years, en-US knows my conditions, and has carefully en-US prescribed medications for me. During en-US this time I have seen chiropractors and en-US pain management doctors, researched en-US current treatments, and tried to uncover en-US the cause of the severe pain I have sufen-US -en-US fered nearly 24 hours a day, seven days a en-US week. If you have not had such an experien-US -en-US ence you are most fortunate, because it is en-US not something with which you want to en-US live, though many do. en-US I have experienced firsthand the effects en-US of going off various types of prescription en-US medications. One I used was Lyrica, and en-US after a period of time my doctor and I en-US decided I did not need the drug. I folen-US -en-US lowed the doctors directions to the letter, en-US but still experienced about six weeks of en-US pure H**l. At times I was not certain if I en-US would live or die. I got through it and en-US resolved that any further attempts to en-US come off a medication would be after en-US much research and discussion with my en-US doctor. After going through what I did, I en-US learned that thousands of others had a en-US similar experience, most often caused by en-US coming off the medication too quickly.en-US My concern now is Florida law HB 21 en-US on controlled substance prescribing that en-US went into effect July 1, 2018. Since I have en-US chronic nonmalignant pain, I will not be en-US affected by the new limits on prescribing en-US opioids. I can tell you that if I had to en-US obtain a prescription for my medications en-US on a 3or 7-day basis, I would spend most en-US of my time driving to my doctors office en-US and the pharmacy. The new legislation en-US will affect those suffering from acute pain, en-US though there are exemptions for cancer, en-US terminal conditions, palliative care, and en-US severe traumatic injuries.en-US We do have a problem with increased en-US use of opioids, but have we directed our en-US efforts to restrict their use in a well en-US thought out manner? Many seniors take en-US these drugs because, whether we like it or en-US not, some medical conditions dictate their en-US use for treatment. My concern when I en-US first started using opioids was whether I en-US would become addicted to them. Well, en-US throughout my eight years of coping with en-US fibromyalgia, I have used one medication en-US that helps somewhat but tried others that en-US did not.en-US We do not know what causes fibromyen-US -en-US algia and have not developed any specific en-US treatment for it. I can tell you that at times en-US my pain is difficult to handle, often reachen-US-en-US ing a level of 9/10. Does that mean I do en-US not try to exercise or try all the well-inen-US -en-US tended ideas? I do, but little seems to help. en-US Most important, like many others who en-US use the medical drugs prescribed by my en-US doctor, I have NEVER abused them.en-US There are many like me who believe en-US that what was a well-intended law may en-US actually harm those who have a medical en-US problem. Does a group of elected officials en-US have the requisite background to direct en-US the use of opioids? If you experience en-US problems obtaining medications under en-US the new law, we ask you to call 321-473-en-US 7770 so that we may document them.en-US en-US Joe Steckler is the President of Helping en-US Seniors of Brevard, a non profit organizaen-US-en-US tion designed to advocate, educate, and en-US fundraise on behalf of Brevards senior citien-US -en-US zens. Sea turtle migratory race kicks off July 28 en-USBREVARD COUNTY One of the en-US wonderful aspects about visiting a Breen-US-en-US vard beach is the opportunity to see a sea en-US turtle during its nesting season.en-US Organizers at Sea Turtle Conservancy en-US have been preparing for its 11th annual en-US Tour de Turtles, a sea turtle migratory en-US race, by gluing satellite transmitters to sea en-US turtle shells.en-US The kickoff party is scheduled to take en-US place from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 at en-US the Barrier Island Center, 8385 S. Hwy en-US A1A, Melbourne Beach.en-US Admission costs $30 per person and en-US includes hors doeuvres, drinks, a silent en-US auction and live music. Proceeds will go en-US toward supporting the cost of Tour de en-US Turtles and sea turtle education.en-US The following morning, the public is en-US invited to join in the fun of the first sea en-US turtle release of the migration event on en-US Sunday, July 29 at the Barrier Island Cenen-US -en-US ter. Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. and en-US the release is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.en-US These events kickoff a three-month en-US long migration marathon, and officials en-US this year will be tracking Leatherbacks, en-US Green turtles, Loggerheads and Hawksen-US-en-US bills. Two of the 17 sea turtles to be en-US released are rehabilitated adult turtles.en-US Depending on which species were en-US releasing, we found that they have several en-US different feeding areas, said Lexie Beach, en-US Communications Coordinator for Sea en-US Turtle Conservancy. The turtles we en-US release on the east coast, from Vero Beach en-US and Melbourne Beach, we usually see en-US them going to two different places.en-US Ms. Beach explained that Sea Turtle en-US Conservancy has tracked a group of sea en-US turtles that heads north of the U.S., such en-US as along the Carolinas, while a different en-US group of sea turtles have migrated south en-US past the Keys to the Bahamas to feed.en-US On the Gulf Coast of Florida, with the en-US turtles weve released from Anna Maria en-US Island, we have actually tracked them en-US traveling south and going to feed kind of en-US near Cuba, Ms. Beach said. So, were en-US interested to see if the turtle we just en-US released there is going to follow that same en-US path.en-US While the aim of the event is to track en-US sea turtles migration patterns, Sea Turtle en-US Conservancy uses this opportunity to en-US educate the public. Residents can track en-US their favorite turtle online and can learn en-US more about the different species involved en-US in the race.en-US Each sea turtle released swims to raise en-US awareness about a particular cause or en-US threat. For example, the sea turtle released en-US at Anna Maria Island is swimming for sea en-US turtle-friendly lighting, while other Florien-US-en-US da sea turtles are swimming for marine en-US debris or coastal development.en-US Each of the turtles are tied to a cause en-US that we hope people will learn more about en-US when theyre following them online, Ms. en-US Beach said.en-US Sea turtles nest every two-to-three en-US years, according to Ms. Beach, and Sea en-US Turtle Conservancy officials have seen en-US some of the tracked turtles return for en-US nesting around the same location as en-US before. Sea turtles can also nest multiple en-US times within the same season.en-US Last year at Anna Maria Island, Ms. en-US Beach said that a nesting turtle that had a en-US satellite transmitter on its shell came back en-US a second and third time within the same en-US nesting season.en-US In Vero Beach, some of the turtles we en-US released there come back two-to-three en-US years later and nest again on the beach, en-US Ms. Beach said. Some of them still have en-US their satellite transmitter on them, which en-US is great because that shows us that theyre en-US able to follow their normal migratory paten-US -en-US terns, theyre able to successfully mate en-US By Brittany Mulliganen-USbmulligan@hometownnewsol.com en-USPhoto courtesy of Celeste McWilliamsen-USSea Turtle Conservancy will host another year of the Tour de Turtles en-US race, in which 17 sea turtles of four different breeds will be particien-US -en-US pating.en-GBSeeen-GB en-GB TURTLEen-GB page 13

I en-US realize that many courses are an amenity en-US and designed to complement the developen-US -en-US ment, but I prefer trees and such over pools en-US and houses. en-US I was recently invited to play The Deltona en-US Club, a course that sits a short drive en-US northeast of Orlando and southwest of en-US Daytona, just a hop and a skip off Interstate en-US 4. The course is part of a development, but en-US you would never know it. The course sits en-US right in the middle, utilizing the rolling en-US hills and valleys to create a wonderful en-US experience.en-US The course, built in the 1960s, was en-US extensively renovated and updated earlier en-US this decade by award-winning architect en-US Bobby Weed, and was named 2013 No. 1 en-US Golf Course Renovation in Florida by Golf en-US Inc. Magazine. The Deltona Club features en-US five sets of tees, playing as short as 4,678en-US yards or as long as 6,988-yards.en-US Thanks to the terrain, there is a wonderen-US -en-US ful variety of holes. You will find yourself en-US playing uphill and downhill, along with an en-US occasional side-hill lie. Thanks to the en-US beautiful, mature oaks, pines and other en-US trees, each hole is well defined and framed.en-US I found the course to be well balanced, en-US with the most difficult holes split between en-US the two nines. With so many hills and en-US doglegs, the course requires you to think en-US your way around. The par-4 second hole en-US makes a 90 degree dogleg to the right from en-US the fairway. From the tee, you must hug the en-US right side and be careful not to drive en-US through the fairway to give yourself the en-US best approach shot to a green sitting atop a en-US hill. en-US The toughest hole on the course is the en-US long par-4 fourth. From the tee you face a en-US shot to a fairway that looks narrower than it en-US is. The fifth hole is a perfectly straight, en-US dowhill par-5 that plays shorter than its en-US posted yardage, because a solid drive will en-US roll forever.en-US One of the most uphill shots that I have en-US ever experienced came at the par-5 seventh. en-US The hole is quite short, playing under 500en-US yards from the tips, but the green is en-US difficult to hold and you cannot see the en-US putting surface from the fairway. I managed en-US to reach this baby in two, and walked off en-US with a nice birdie.en-US For some golfers, nothing is as exciting as en-US having a chance to drive the green on a en-US par-4. Deltona features two such holes, the en-US first of which is number eight. Playing en-US downhill and downwind, I hit my usual en-US drive and found en-US myself just off the left en-US side of the green.en-US At the turn I en-US enjoyed a cold en-US beverage, sandwich en-US and a tasty snack to en-US fuel me for the back en-US nine. en-US The back nine is as en-US delightful as the en-US front, with holes en-US weaving left and en-US right, and up and en-US down the rolling en-US hills. There are en-US several waste bunkers en-US on the course, and I en-US managed to find a en-US few on the second en-US nine.en-US My favorite hole at Deltona is the par-3 en-US 14th. This hole has an elevation change of en-US about 50feet or more, from the tee to the en-US green below. Your tee shot requires a hybrid en-US or long iron to reach the putting surface. en-US When selecting your club, you must also en-US figure in the wind and the elevations effect en-US on the distance. en-US The finishing holes are a lot of fun. The en-US par-5 16th is a tempting hole that allows en-US you to be as brave or careful as you need. en-US Seventeen is the longest par-4 on the en-US course, but plays downwind, leaving you a en-US shorter approach than you anticipate. en-US Eighteen is a great final hole. It is not en-US only the second drivable par-4, but the en-US shortest on the scorecard. Do not let these en-US facts fool you. The hole is fraught with en-US danger, even for those timid souls laying up en-US and playing safe. There are trees, waste en-US bunkers, and the deepest green-side bunker en-US I have ever had the misfortune of finding, en-US protecting it. en-US If you are looking for a great round, with en-US all the fun of rolling hills, waste bunkers, en-US and fairways that are not crowded by en-US homes, you must play The Deltona Club. en-US For tee times, rates and information, call en-US the club at (386) 789-4911 or visit www.en-US TheDeltonaClub.com.en-US James Stammer has been an avid golfer en-US and golf enthusiast for nearly 40 years.
