en-USOnline gaming, or esports, en-US is becoming increasingly popen-US -en-US ular, and it could become a en-US big draw for Daytona Beach.en-US We think Daytona Beach en-US has the potential to become en-US one of the worlds great en-US esports destinations, said en-US Heath Jones, CEO of 2050 en-US esports, a en-US local company en-US which is part of Koralis Enteren-US -en-US tainment, formed in 2013 to en-US develop entertainment conen-US-en-US tent including movies, comen-US-en-US ics, and other events.. We are en-US excited to continue developen-US -en-US ing our relationships, our en-US expertise, and our brand to en-US ensure we are central to en-US esports in the area.en-US The citys Ocean Center en-US already has hosted some big en-US esport events, most recently en-US the CEO Gamien-USng event from en-US June 28 through July 2, said en-US Don Poor, Ocean Center en-US director. The event, which en-US was the centers first CEO en-US Gaming event, was a big hit en-US and a great fit for the Ocean en-US Center and the city, he said.en-US There were 7,300 people en-US who attended the gaming en-US show. They were great to deal en-US with anden-US we enjoyed having en-US them and they enjoyed the en-US building; they gave us a lot of en-US compliments to our staff and en-US to the facility. So, we were en-US very pleased with them, Mr. en-US Poor said. That event fit this en-US building extremely well. The en-US promoter did a video for us en-US complimenting the city and en-US staff and Ocean Center. en-US Everything they did, they had en-US great cooperation, and everyen-US -en-US one really enjoyed themen-US-en-US selves.en-US In light of the recent and en-US tragic shooting during an en-US esports even-US ent in Jacksonville, en-US where three gamers lost their en-US lives and 11 others were en-US injured during a shooting, Mr. en-US Poor said security for esports en-US and other events is on everyen-US-en-US ones mind. Although the en-US Ocean Center does provide en-US some security measuers, such en-US as unarmed security for en-US events, heavier security is en-US done by event promoters, he en-US added.en-US The people who have to en-US work security is the gaming en-US show itself or whether it be en-US wrestling, rock concerts, en-US whatever. We are prohibited en-US from doing that on our own, en-US Mr. Poor said. We have reguen-US -en-US lar security, but when you go en-US into metal detectors and bag en-US searches and frisking and all en-US that, it has to be worked by en-US the promoters. Promotors en-US know more about it than we en-US do. en-US The tragic events in Jacken-US-en-US sonville have prompted Mr. en-US Jones, whose Daytona Beach-en-US based business is housed at en-US the Vousia County Business en-US Incubator powered by the en-US University of Centeral Florien-US-en-US da, to reach out to other en-US sources to review the way en-US security is handled.en-US We were sad to hear of the en-US events in Jacksonville and en-US many of the attendees are en-US gamers we know and value, en-US Mr. Jones said. We are curen-US -en-US rently working with Daytona en-US International Speedway to en-US review security. They are en-US experts and well work with en-US them to satisfy the needs of en-US the event.en-US Meanwhile, as the popularen-US -en-US ity of esports grows, Mr. Jones en-US said he hopes Volusia County en-USCounty Council approves en-US tourism authorities budgetsen-USVolusia County will see advertising dollars at en-US work next year, more than $14 million in advertising en-US dollars.en-US Volusia County Council members unanimously en-US approved budgets for the countys three advertising en-US authorities in three separate votes at the regular en-US meeting Aug. 21 in DeLand. en-US The West Volusia Advertising Authority, which en-US expects to get $910,334, plans to stick with what is en-US working as well as a few new additions, said Georgia en-US Turner, executive director of the WVAA. en-US Were going to have an increase in digital and en-US video (advertising) due to our past success, Ms. en-USTurner told council members. Were extremely en-US proud of our videos and were going to six moreen-US The plans for the coming year also include en-US increasing Google AdWords, a new podcast, en-US advertising throughout the state on National en-US Public Radio, new partnerships and new en-US events to help draw crowds and tourism dolen-US -en-US lars into the west side of the county.en-US Were going to work very closely with en-US Stetson (University), were actually going to en-US become their official travel partner, Ms. Turner en-US said. We will have expanded sporting event supen-US -en-US port, as well as different events, (such as) a 5K run en-US called the Santa Hustle through downtown DeLand, en-US the aviation showcase, national bowl weekend, half en-US marathons and some other events.en-US Trails and weddings are becoming big draws to en-US the west side. en-US Trails are still important part of our promotion, en-US and weddings are very popular, she said. The Cenen-US -en-US ter en-US at Deltona is en-US doing well, everything from the Stetson en-US Mansion to DeBary Hall are popular wedding venen-US -en-US ues. en-US For Southeast Volusia, videos and blogs are the en-US ticket to showcasing the growing arts center of Canal en-US Street, the historic downtown and Flagler Avenue as en-US well as Third Street, nicknamed Eat Street by visien-US en-USWhile celebrating her 90en-US then-US en-US birthday, Ernie Dyer also was en-US honored for 63 years of supen-US-en-US porting and volunteering at en-US Daytona Playhouse.en-US In 1955 a young lady from en-US Massachusetts named Ernesen-US-en-US tine Carlson walked into en-US Daytona Playhouse to volunen-US -en-US teer and she has never left, en-US said Kathy Thompson, presien-US-en-US dent of the playhouse board.en-US Ernestine Ernie (now) en-US Dyer was born in Ashland, en-US Mass., but has resided in en-US Daytona Beach since 1953. en-US The Daytona Playhouse had en-US a grand opening in 1955, en-US which she attended. She en-US auditioned for the next play en-US at the new venue, and the rest en-US is history.en-US At 90, Ms. Dyer is not only en-US working as a writer for Noroen-US -en-US ton Publishing in Darien, en-US Conn., she volunteers at the en-US Museum of Arts and Science en-US and continues volunteering en-US in numerous capacities at the en-US Playhouse. She has written en-US reviews for many local plays.en-US Ernie has done it all, Ms. en-US Thompson said. She has en-US been a superb actress in too en-US many productions to menen-US -en-US tion other than one of her en-US favorites, the Dowager en-US Empress, as Anastasia in en-US 1979. On stage, back stage, en-US front of the house or on the en-US board, Ernie has been at the en-US heart of the organization.en-US She has worked on or peren-US -en-US formed in more than 200 en-US plays to date.en-US There isnt an inch of that en-US theater I didnt know, Ms. en-US Dyer said. They built the en-US theater, they opened the en-US doors and there I was. en-US She met her husband en-US Joseph Edwin Jed Dyer at en-USFirst Lady en-US at Playhouse en-US celebrates 90th en-USVideo gaming en-US competitionen-US Volusia style en-USReel funen-USRandy Barber/staff photographeren-USBrian Rademacher of Ormond Beach keeps an eye on his little fisherman, en-US Vincent, 4, during the Reel in the Fun childrens fishing tournament at Baien-US -en-US ley Riverbridge Gardens in Ormond Beach on Saturday, Sept. 8. This 80-acre spate en-US of land was formed when en-US heavy dredging occurred to en-US clear the inlet and boat en-US channel in 1918. As it turned en-US out, the deposit of spoils en-US created a first-class tourist en-US stop and, for some, an actual en-US cottage industry. en-US This year, just before Labor en-US Day, I took off on the four-en-US hour drive south to Peanut en-US Island with my wife, Lana. en-US Over the years she has always en-US been a gamer, ready to try any en-US hair-brained outdoors scheme en-US I can come up with. en-US When we turned east off en-US I-95 onto Blue Heron Drive, en-US the island was only a mile or en-US so away. At 13th Street, we en-US made our way to the Island en-US Shuttle Boat. Originally I had en-US intended to take my kayak, en-US The Green Peanut, if for no en-US other reason than a photo of en-US The Peanut at The Peanut en-US would be a natural. en-US The boat ride to the eastern en-US side of the island costs $12 en-US each and took only 15 en-US minutes. The crew was en-US friendly and knowledgeable. en-US They told us about the en-US presidential bunker on the en-US island that was built to protect en-US JFK during the Cuban missile en-US crisis in the 1960s. (The en-US Kennedy Palm Beach comen-US -en-US pound was only minutes en-US away.) en-US Fine, but we were here to en-US snorkel. When we walked up en-US the 200-foot gangplank to the en-US island, we were immediately en-US excited. In the clear water en-US below, hundreden-US s of fish were en-US feeding and schools of needle en-US fish were leaping about. The en-US shuttle crew had told us we en-US had timed our visit just about en-US perfect since we were arriving en-US a couple hours before high en-US tide. The water coming in en-US from the Atlantic Ocean is en-US clear, but, on the outgoing en-US tide, water from the river en-US makes it more difficult to see.en-US Taking a look around, Lana en-US and I both agreed that if we en-US did not know better, we could en-US be in The Virgin Islands or en-US perhaps Aruba. Just beautiful! en-US The bottom was pure white en-USsand and the water crystal en-US clear. en-US Folks, Lana and I have been en-US snorkeling for decades and en-US these days the most difficult en-US part of it is clien-US mbing in and en-US out of the boat. At Peanut en-US Island, you can sit on the en-US beach to put your dive gear on en-US and just wade out. Within 30 en-US feet of the beach, we began to en-US see schools of spots, snapper, en-US angel fish and spade fish. en-US Great numbers of colorful en-US parrot fish were swimming all en-US around us and I even found a en-US school of rare rainbow parrots. en-US Those beauties have green, en-US gold, red, yellow, pink and en-US blue hues to admire. Quite a en-US sight! en-US On the eastern edge of the en-US island are several rock piles to en-US hold the fish and a tidal canal en-US leads to an inland lagoon en-US where you might swim with en-US the manatees. We had a great en-US time and would advise all to en-US give it a try. Snorkeling en-US equipment can be rented at en-US the shuttle boat landing, but en-US even if that is not your thing, en-US you are guaranteed to have a en-US good time in this little bit of en-US tropical heaven. en-US The island has picnic tables, en-US bathrooms and pavilions, but en-US there is nothing for sale there. en-US You must brinen-US g along the food en-US and drinks you need to be en-US comfortable. The customen-US -en-US er phone representative said the drivers are not required to know en-US that information, they just have to know the route. Nice sunny en-US day, though.en-USTraffic consideration en-USThe traffic on State Road 44 is always congested, but mainly at en-US the traffic light at the intersection of Mission and Wallace roads, en-US especially on a holiday. en-US This traffic light is the bottleneck that causes 99 percent of the en-US back-up on S.R. 44. en-US Labor Day is the last holiday of the year for many families who en-US come to New Smyrna Beach to enjoy their last beach activity of en-US the season before school starts. Can you please tell me why the en-US New Smyrna Beach Fire Department conducts their annual boot en-US collection for Muscular Dystrophy at this busy traffic light? Give en-US the residents and tourists a break, please. Ask for the boot donaen-US -en-US tions somewhere else that will not cause so many to be stuck siten-US -en-US ting in traffic. en-US People get angry when they find out what has been causing en-US the congestioen-US n. I have seen numeroen-US us vehicles turn into Walen-US-en-US greens, McDonalds, Taco Bell and Dennys to avoid this. For the en-US most part, people dont have a problem making donations to this en-US worthy cause, but really, why cause en-US tempers to flare? Since most en-US of the money in New Smyrna Beach is on beachside, set up the en-US boot donations en-US somewhere in that area of town.en-USPrefer live clerksen-USI just came from a big box store out by Interstate 95. en-US It is Saturdayen-US It was busy, but to try and get the customers to en-US use the scan and go system, they only had two checkouts with en-US live clerks. I was in the service, deployed en-US to Iraq twice. I have never been in a place where it is so common en-US for people to throw out garbage on the side of road. I do a lot of en-US garbage pick up and I am sure other neighbors do too, but what I en-US dont understand is people tell me, excuse them they dont know en-US any better. They are just ignorant folk. en-US I dont think these people would do that in their own yard, so en-US why would they throw garbage in other peoples yards? I think en-US they do know better and they should be fined. It is not nice. It is en-US a criminal act. en-USDont park them on meen-USI dont want food trucks to park in random neighborhoods in en-US Ormond Beach. en-US If I wanted noise I would move to Daytona Beach. We complain, but no one does anything. They are ripping en-US off the residents of Florida. en-USNeed more ticketingen-USWow, I dont know who did this survey and I am not sure en-US where they were when they made their findings, but if Edgewaen-US -en-US ter is the safest city for driving, God help all of us.en-US In the morning, driving from State Road 442 to Old Mission en-US Road, I almost got hit by someone turning left onto S.R. 442. en-US Then I passed someone doing 25 on S.R. 442 who was weaving en-US all over the road while they were texting. Then I get close to Old en-US Mission and almost got rear-ended by someone not paying en-US attention. That was in less than 15 minutes. en-US If Edgewater made this survey, then we have a problem. The en-US problem it appears is people are not getting ticketed enough to en-US show the true facts. So my question is this, not to fault any police en-US officers, but maybe Edgewater needs a larger police force? Peoen-US -en-US ple have almost hit me on S.R. 442 near the Winn-Dixie because en-US turning left off S.R. 442 to get into the Winn-Dixie is far more en-US important than waiting until it is clear. Each of the transactions en-US is in varying stages of due en-US diligence . .en-US I wont bore you with the en-US rest, but if you need a sleep en-US aid, you can go to the compaen-US -en-US nys website at ctlc.com and en-US click on investor relations. Of en-US course, that explains why the en-US companys news releases dont en-US tell you much about what will en-US impact the Daytona Beach en-US area. Theyre written for stock en-US analysts and investors, who en-US are more interested in how its en-US actions affect the companys en-US stock price.en-US What we do know is en-US Unicorp National Developen-US -en-US ment of Orlando bought about en-US 21 acres of land planned as en-US Williamson Crossing for $6.7 en-US million. It included about two en-US acres Consolidated-Tomoka en-US had under contract with en-US another land owner. Williamen-US -en-US son Crossing, which wraps en-US around the big new RaceTrac en-US store at LPGA and Williamen-US -en-US son, is a mixed-use project en-US with retail and offices, but en-US Unicorp didnt respond to a en-US request for information, so we en-US can only guess that it plans to en-US follow the existing plan.en-US The company expects to use en-US the proceeds to buy a sinen-US -en-US gle-tenant income property, so en-US it wont have to pay taxes on en-US the gain. It has done that a lot en-US and amassed quite an impresen-US -en-US sive list of properties across en-US the nation. You can check that en-US out on the website, too.en-US But it also has been buying en-US up property in downtown en-US Daytona Beach, including the en-US First Baptist Church builden-US -en-US ings, and who knows what en-US could wind up going there. en-US The company does some en-US first-rate development of its en-US own, including the Land en-US Shark Caf and Cocina 214 en-US restaurant project.en-US We know whats happening en-US with a lot of the companys en-US land sales, including Latitude en-US Margaritaville, ICI Homes en-US Mosaic subdivision and en-US another one it has planned on en-US State Road 40. North Amerien-US -en-US can Development Group is en-US continuing construction on its en-US huge shopping center and en-US apartments, both to the east of en-US Tanger Factory Outlet Center. en-US Buc-ees is supposed to start en-US building its huge store soon en-US and two other big apartment en-US projects are planned.en-US But there also are plans for en-US other developments, including en-US a 1 million-square-foot en-US distribution center, a new en-US headquarters building for en-US Costa del Mar, one of those en-US office-condo type buildings en-US and another big office-retail en-US center to the north of LPGA en-US Boulevard and west of en-US Williamson. en-US Getting more information en-US about what is going on in that en-US area isnt easy as developers en-US always play things close to the en-US vest and, as I mentioned, en-US Consolidated-Tomokas news en-US releases dont give a lot of en-US detail about will happen. But if en-US even half of those 19 sales en-US agreements go through and en-US the developers are successful en-US with their plans, it will have a en-US huge impact on our area with en-US jobs and other opportunities en-US as well as increased traffic and en-US environmental impact.en-US ***en-US As I took a week off, the big en-UScommercial real estate deals en-US piled up a little bit, but here en-US they are. en-USA-8 Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach/Holly Hill en-USTen-USoday, Ill be discussing a en-US financial scam that can en-US be perpetrated by either a en-US man or woman. en-USIn my opinion, people who en-US commit this crime (and it is a en-US crime) are some of the lowest en-US of the low. Con artists troll en-US dating websites, bars and en-US countless other places (even en-US grief counseling groups!) in en-US search of the lonely and en-US emotionally vulnerable. en-US Maybe youve seen it happen, en-US or felt helpless as a relative, or en-US good friend, has had his/her en-US money stolen. en-US Maxie, a widow, signed up en-US for an online dating service to en-US find a companion. There, she en-US met Franklin, a seemingly en-US well-to-do retiree, who was in en-US the midst of a messy divorce. en-US When his divorce was final, en-US Franklin told Maxie he wanted en-US to travel the U.S. with her in en-US retirement. A dream come en-US true, right? en-US He convinced Maxie to use en-US her savings to buy a new, and en-US very expensive, recreational en-US vehicle. The home on wheels en-US was huge, comfortable and en-US had all the latest features and en-US conveniences. Everything was en-US fine for the first few weeks en-US after the purchen-US ase, but, soon, en-US Franklins affection for Maxie en-US waned. en-US They broke up, and not so en-US amicably. Maxie made several en-US attempts to get Franklin to pay en-US back the money she had en-US invested in the RV, but, as you en-US may have already guessed . en-US Franklin had the vehicle titled en-US only in his name.en-US Annie met Mel in a caf. en-US Annie fell hard for the en-US younger man, who said he was en-US an actor. Unfortuen-US nately Mel en-US had no money and couldnt en-US hold a job. So, Annie chose to en-US support him, financially. en-US Though Mel professed his en-US love to Annie, her elderly en-US father and grown daughter en-US expressed their displeasure en-US and concern over what en-US appeared to be a one-sided en-US affair. en-US The more they complained, en-US the more Annie pushed her en-US family away in lieu of her en-US relationship with Mel. The en-US charade went on for a couple en-US years before Mel finally moved en-US on. What did he leave behind? en-US Heartbreak and a large dent in en-US Annies retirement savings.en-US Stories like these are not en-US uncommon. Admittedly, its en-US hard to make the right en-US decision when you are en-US engulfed in a whirlwind of en-US emotion. Love can make a en-US person blind to even the most en-US obvious of deceptions. en-US Scammers, however, know en-US how to manipulate their en-US victims by fulfilling this very en-US basic human need. en-US I write this column as a en-US warning. Scammers often en-US target older individuals en-US because they know they hold en-US the most wealth. Approach en-US potential relationships with en-US great caution and keep your en-US wits about you. Dont rush en-US into anything, especially when en-US asked to lend financial en-US assistance. Listen to family en-US and friends, without being en-US defensive. Discuss any and all en-US major financial moves with en-US your adviser. Please! en-US If youre having second en-US thoughts about someones true en-US intentions, remove yourself en-US from the situation for a few en-US weeks to gain some perspecen-US -en-US tive. Con artists can, and do, en-US live in our local communities. en-US They will continue to lure the en-US lonely. Dont lose your money en-US to them. Dont become en-US another victim. en-US David D. Mullet cant really en-US run, or can they? en-US Each year when the ocean en-US temperatures begin to cool to en-US the north, hoards of mullet en-US head south to warmer climes. en-US As the big schools move right en-US along the coast, they attract en-US lots of hungry predators. In en-US Volusia County, we can expect en-US plenty of big red drum to be en-US trailing and, on occasion, even en-US fish we would normally catch en-US farther off shore. King en-US mackerel, cobia and tarpon en-US will be there to compete with en-US schools of marauding jacks to en-US get their fill. en-US When will this happen? en-US Unfortunately I cant tell you en-US exactly. The mullet run en-US because of some unknown en-US signal only they hear. en-US At this time of year, it is in en-US our best interest to be paying a en-US lot of attention to the surf. en-US When the mullet do begin to en-US pass by, they will be very en-US visible. On a calm day, look en-US for the slightest disturbance en-US on the surface. Some of us old en-US salts call it nervous water.en-US Most of the time, the big en-US predatory fish following the en-US mullet will give it away as they en-US splash and jump. At times it en-US can be quite a show. Add to en-US that the seabirds hovering en-US above and diving for the en-US scraps and it wont be difficult en-US to spot. en-US The best way to fish the en-US mullet run is to cast net a few en-US finger mullet from the surf en-US and toss that liven-US e bait out to en-US the edges of the passing en-US schools. The game fish will en-US stay just off the edges looking en-US for a mullet that is having en-US trouble keeping up. Like us, en-US they hope to get an easy meal.en-US Fishing your own bait off en-US the school will make it appear en-US to be easy pickings. Casting en-US into the center of the school en-US will make your bait more en-US difficult to see. en-US As for me, during the en-US mullet run, I usually leave my en-US rods and reels home to opt for en-US the cast net. I am happy just en-US to net some tasty mullet for en-US frying or smoking. When en-US times are good, three or four en-US casts with a small neten-US will fill a en-US medium-sized cooler. Ocean en-US mullet are cleaner than those en-US we catch inshore and thereen-US -en-US fore better tasting. en-US It has been said that the en-US lowly mullet is the most en-US consumed fish on the planet, en-US and I would have to agree. en-US They are found in fresh, salt en-US and brackish waters in en-US practically every country on en-US the planet. en-US Once the mullet make it en-US into the rivers, they can be en-US caught with hook and line en-US from docks and piers. Since en-US they are mostly herbivores, en-US you should chum them with en-US small pieces of light bread. en-US Once they begin feeding, en-US moisten bread and roll it into en-US balls to dry in the sun. That en-US will make the dough balls a en-US little tougher and better to en-US stay on a hook. For this type en-US of fishing a cane pole and no en-US weight is about perfect. If you en-US do it correctly, you can have a en-US lot of fun and some very good en-US eats. en-US Smoked mullet dip is one of en-US my favorite things and, en-US properly fried, mullet filets en-US can be delicious. (I like to use en-US a thousand island and horse en-US radish dip with mine.) So, for en-US the next few weeks, keep an en-US eye on the surf and try to be en-US there to see the mullet run.en-US Dan Smith has fished the en-US waters of Volusia County for en-US more than 40 years. The areas most trusted A/C & Heat company since 1928 Hugh, 31 years with company N en-USational Doughnut Week en-US is a great holiday en-US because everyone loves en-US doughnuts.en-USBut where did they come en-US from? Who invented them? en-US Who cares? Theyre here, lets en-US eat doughnuts every day! en-US OK, OK, enough celebraten-US -en-US ing. Its time to talk doughen-US -en-US nuts. They have been around en-US for hundreds of years. Every en-US culture has fried some kind of en-US dough throughout the en-US centuries, but no one knows en-US where they started. en-US What we do know is the en-US Dutch in the mid-19th en-US century were frying dough en-US balls in pork fat called en-US olykoeks, or oily cakes. The en-US center of the dough would not en-US cook all the way through, so en-US they started stuffing the cake en-US with fruits, nuts and other en-US fillings that did not require en-US cooking. The Dutch brought en-US the oily cake to North en-US America and many cultures en-US made their own variations.en-US In1847, a sea captain named en-US Gregory Hansen decided to en-US poke holes in the doughnut to en-US get rid of the uncooked center en-US by putting them in the spoke en-US of the ships steering wheel. He en-US would have a treat near him en-US during the long hours of en-US sailing. The story was puben-US -en-US lished in a Boston newspaper. en-US In the early 1900s, doughen-US -en-US nuts were time-consuming to en-US produce because each one was en-US made by hand. But that would en-US change in 1924 when a en-US Russian immigrant developed en-US a machine to make doughen-US -en-US nuts. The machine was en-US featured at the 1934 Chicago en-US Worlds Fair and doughnuts en-US became extremely popular. en-US The tasty treat even endured a en-US name change from doughnut en-US to donut. en-US In 1937, Vernon Rudolf en-US brought a yeast raised donut en-US recipe from a New Orleans en-US chef and Krispy Kreme was en-US born. The first store was built en-US in Winston-Salem, N.C. en-US Today they have grown to en-US more than 1,000 stores en-US worldwide. en-US The first Dunkin Donuts en-US opened in Quincey, Mass., in en-US 1950 and eventually surpassed en-US Krispy Kreme stores, opening en-US 10,585 worldwide. en-US Yes, we love our donuts and en-US fried dough. Just visit your en-US local fairs and see what en-US everyone is eating. Its not just en-US fried dough, but fried pickles, en-US cookies, candy bars, ice cream, en-US bananas and fruit. en-US If you want to make your en-US own donuts or fry something en-US special, it might be easier than en-US you think. If you have a small en-US fryer, that is great. If not, use a en-US heavy bottomed pot, 3-4 en-US quarts. Fill half way with en-US canola, soybean or peanut oil en-US whichever you like. Buy a en-US good quality pancake mix. Try en-US Sams commercial brand and en-US follow instructions for en-US pancakes. Just add a little less en-US water to make it thicker, not en-US too watery. en-US If you like fried frozen en-US bananas, peel the bananas, en-US freeze, then dip in pancake en-US batter and place in hot oil. en-US Temperature should be 350 en-US degrees; it will float, so use a en-US slotted spoon and keep en-US turning until golden brown en-US then remove. You can fry en-US pickles, candy bar, and en-US Twinkies; just dip and fry. en-US My wife came up with a en-US great idea; use a small wooden en-US skewer and place 3-4 strawen-US -en-US berries or blueberries on it, en-US dip and fry. You will be en-US surprised how good they taste. en-US You can make your own en-US funnel cake. Place batter in a en-US plastic squeeze bottle and en-US pour in circles in the fryer. en-US Frying is a little bit of work, en-US but worth the efforts. If youre en-US afraid of frying, just go out en-US and buy your favorite dessert. en-US At least now you know how its en-US done.
