	Abstract:	TLS "Marjorie K. Rawlings" to Ethel Fairmont Snyder Beebe "Los Hermanos"; Hawthorn, Florida; 28 July 1929. 3 sheets, 5 sides. 4 p. with envelope addressed to Mrs. Murray Beebe, Cheshire, CT., postmarked Hawthorn sic 29 July 1929. Says that as soon as they left Rochester, the Beebes appear to be moving there. Briefly describes Rochester life. The bulk of the letter is a description of the Rawlings's new life in Florida. Explains why they left Rochester. Describes aspects of their life as citrus growers, the hazard Mediterranean fruit fly, their pets, the character and speech of the Crackers and of the blacks. Refers to the biographical sketch "Blood of My Blood" that she submitted to the Atlantic. Mentions Alberta Boucher, apparently a mutual friend in Rochester? This is the earliest known Rawlings letter from Florida and perhaps her earliest account of Florida life. Donated by Nancy S. Weyant in honor of Ethel Fairmont Snyder Beebe, June 2000.
