Count Dillon arrived at Tobago on 5th October;
with him was the Ordonnateur, Monsieur Roume de St
Laurent. They both assumed duty on 6th October.
The People of Tobago represent the urgent nec-
essity of reducing the Civil List of Officers in the
Colony with a view to economy in the expenditure of
As such proposals are included in the Memoire of
Royal Instructions; they are considering what reduct-
ions can reasonably be made.
