Extract.
The President was then Monsieur de Peynier.
The French hired three houses, in the Town of
Scarborough in which were housed a detachment of the
Guadeloupe Regiment, the Artillery and a Corps de
Garde.
The rest of the Troops were in garrison in the
forts on Scarborough Hill and Cotton Hill (now French
Fort).
