I have regular information every week of what is
going forward at Martinique, St Lucia and Tobago.
The Vicomte de Damas has visited the two latter
and left at each, one hundred men.
They are fortifying Gros Islet at St Lucia; all
the inhabitants and half the negroes, are obliged to
attend the work carrying on there.
Comte Dillon is also fortifying Tobago and is pec-
uliarly severe and oppressive to the English.
