I am directed by the Commander in Chief to inform
you that he had not the smallest doudt but that Gover-
nor Ferguson was in town when the General Officers
were ordered to meet on Saturday last.
The General Officers after hearing Major Stanhope
state his situation, were unanimously of opinion that a
Court Martial should be held for the justification of
As soon as the Commander in Chief has taken His
Majesty's pleasure upon it, Governor Ferguson will
have timely notice of the Court Martial.
