Fray Francisco de Malaga, Procurator-General of the
Missions of the Capuchins in the Indies, reported that six
missionaries were sent out to Trinidad and Guayana in the
year 1722 in order to reestablish the missions in these
countries. Since that date two of the missionaries have died
and no more have been sent out.
On the 28th August, 1728, the Governor of Trinidad
reported that there were only four missionaries to attend to
all the missions and he asked for six more missionaries.
This request was approved by the Council and by the King.
