FOREWORD

The Directory of Post-Secondary and Adult Occupation Curriculums for
Florida has been prepared by the Pupil Personnel Services Section in
cooperation with the Division of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education.
The directory represents a comprehensive listing of the occupational
curriculums offered in the post-secondary programs by public' supported
institutions of Florida.

The updating of the directory is in response to the need for a single volume
publication which identifies occupation-centered curriculums of the technical
schools, community colleges, area vocational-technical centers, and the adult
education centers found in Florida.

The directory is being distributed to district school officials, counselors in
elementary, junior high and secondary schools, area vocational-technical
centers, community colleges, and to counselor education institutions. Other
agencies which will be utilizing the directory include the Florida Employment
Service, Division of Commercial Development, the vocational rehabilitation
services, and veteran training programs.

Additional copies of the directory may be obtained on request to Program
Services, Division of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education, Florida
Department of Education, 271 Knott Building, Tallahassee, Florida 32304.

INSTRUCTIONS

For Using Directory

The directory represents an alphabetical compilation of all reported groups of
organized courses providing occupational training. The duration of the
training may vary from a few weeks to as much as three years. Occupation
centered curriculums are reported from 31 Florida area vocational-technical
centers, 27 community colleges, and the occupation centered curriculums of
9 schools for adults. The directory presents a total of 297 training offerings
preparing for beginning employment.

This directory is intended to supplement rather than replace other sources of
occupational and educational information. It has been designed for the
specific purpose of informing users where occupation training at the
post-secondary and adult levels is offered in Florida.

Courses change from time to time in their content, length, fees, and schedule.
If one is seriously considering a course, he is encouraged to contact in person,
by phone, or in writing, the school for further clarifying information.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Acknowledgement must be given to the designated liaison person in each of
the community colleges, area vocational-technical centers, adult and
vocational schools, and county staffs whose assistance and cooperation were
vital to the comprehensive reporting needed for the directory. This involved
accurate reporting of the programs available at the institution.
