The Thomas Center is a beautifully
restored Mediterranean Revival-style Hotel
that is listed in the National Register of
Historic Places. It contains 1920's period
rooms, local history exhibits, banquet
rooms, performance space and meeting
rooms. The Thomas Center is surrounded
by the lovely Thomas Center Gardens.






THE SPANISH COURT
This central room rises two stories to a full
skylight. It is surrounded by a colonnade and
second story Mezzanine area. This room is
used for social events, meetings, luncheons
and as performance space.

MEETING ROOMS
The Thomas Center has three meeting rooms
available. Room 102, the Sam Gowan History
Room, off the northeast corner of the Spanish
Court, contains a conference table that seats
twelve people. Room 105, the Lucille Maloney
room, contains a conference table that seats
eighteen people. Gallery A is located in the
lower level and seats fifty people.

THE LONG GALLERY
Adjoining the Spanish Court with five sets of
double doors on the south wall, this long room is
fully paneled in walnut, has two fireplaces, and
carpeting. This room is used for social events,
luncheons and meetings.

Rates wvH

To reserve a date for an event, a $100 non-refundable deposit
is required. This deposit will be applied to the total charges
upon payment of fees. Deposit is non-transferable to other
City departments. All fees, including a $300 security deposit,
must be paid in full by the fifth day of the month prior to the
event. Rental and building attendant fees must include the
total duration of time for access required by caterer, agent or
user, as well as sufficient time for complete clean up of the
leased premises. One hour set up and one and a half hour for
clean up is required. Payment of cash or checks.

Rehearsals may be arranged for a fee of $16.00 per hour.

PIANOS
The grand piano in the Spanish Court may be rented for a fee of
$42.00. The upright piano is available at $21.00.

THOMAS CENTER GARDENS
The Thomas Center Gardens include all outdoor areas surrounding
the Thomas Center, the Grace and Sidney Knight Children's Theater,
Turtle Court, and the West Gardens.

State tax of 6% is charged on all fees. Non-profit organizations must present
proof of tax exempt status when rendering payment of fees.

Smoking is not allowed in any part of the Thomas Center. It is not
permissible to light candles, sparklers or do anything which causes a
high concentration of particulates e.g. (dust, vapor, smoke, snow,
glitter, etc.) to be in the air, as this may activate the halon fire
extinguishing system. If this regulation is disregarded and the fire
extinguisher system is discharged, the lessee is liable for the cost of
recharging the system.

Nothing is allowed to be thrown on the premises, including the
outdoor gardens; that is, no rice, birdseed, confetti, glitter, silly string,
bubbles or sparklers. If this regulation is disregarded, a fee of $50.00
will be assessed from the security deposit.

All decorations shall be put up without defacing the building, and
their installation shall be subject to prior approval.

No kegs allowed inside the facility; porches must be rented if kegs
are used.

It is the lessee's responsibility to move items for storage into the lower
level for later pickup. A storage charge of $50 will be assessed from the
security deposit.
