 Notes
Abstract: Dr. Max Sheppard relates the need for real time data needed to investigate storms. Therefore, the volunteers in the Storm Crew program (a branch of Coastal Engineering) go out during an actual storm to set up data gathering instruments close to the route of the storm. A mathematical model will be constructed later from the gathered data, which will allow for a more accurate assessment of future storm surges.
