Abstract: Jerry L. Weinberg, research scientist, is heading a team at the Space Astronomy Lab at the University of Florida to study the pollutants, which were discovered after the lift off of the space shuttle Columbia. Besides the pollutants of dust, gas, paint, and assorted earth particles they also discovered light pollution (resulting from the thrusters going off) which could effect observations of space and the earth.
