Abstract: Dr. Barbara Purdy (archaeology professor), Dr. Tom Hallmark (soil scientist), and Dr. David Clark (materials science engineer) are involved in an experiment to test the corrosion of glass and ceramic samples after they have been buried in the ground. The glass is to be dug up in six-month intervals and the final removal will take place in five years. The glass is being studied as a possible way to contain nuclear waste.
