I. ITOPIC: Recuerdos de mis vacaciones mexicanas.
II. OBJECTIVES: Students will use imagery and the five senses to incorporate realia
into the writing process.

IV. TEACHING PROCEDURES
a. Introduction: You've just arrived home from your Mexican vacation. While
unpacking your suitcase, you pop in some of your new favorite music and
reminisce about your experience, souvenir by souvenir. Using your 5 senses,
describe the experiences of your travels.
b. Developmental Activities: Students will brainstorm around 5 items from the
suitcase. They will compose a journal entry for each item. Each student will
then choose one item to present extemporaneously in front of the class. These
presentations will be videotaped for review and self-critique.
c. Closure: To fully experience another culture, we reflect on all the ways we were
impacted. Our memories are strengthened by using all 5 senses. We commit
those memories to writing or video journals to prolong the enjoyment of those
V. LESSON EVALUATION: Students will compose 5 journal entries. Students will
create one video journal. Students will self-critique their videos.
