article from the newspaper.

a. Introduction: Imagine being right there as the news is breaking. What did you
see, hear, smell, taste, and feel? Who? What? Where? Why? When? How?
b. Developmental Activities: Students will read an article and outline what they will
include in their eye-witness account.
c. Closure: A newspaper article reflects a limited point of view. When we ask
ourselves to imagine what it was like being there, we open our minds to the
possibility that some details were left out and some points of view were not

Students will be evaluated based on their outline, rough draft, final draft and how well
their account is supported by details from the article.
