DAILY LESSON PLAN

Grade: 10-12

I. TOPIC: Como lo veo.

II. OBJECTIVES: Students will compose an eye-witness account after reading an
article from the newspaper.

III. MATERIALS
a. Traveling suitcase-newspapers

IV. TEACHING PROCEDURES
a. Introduction: Imagine being right there as the news is breaking. What did you
see, hear, smell, taste, and feel? Who? What? Where? Why? When? How?

b. Developmental Activities: Students will read an article and outline what they will
include in their eye-witness account.

c. Closure: A newspaper article reflects a limited point of view. When we ask
ourselves to imagine what it was like being there, we open our minds to the
possibility that some details were left out and some points of view were not
considered.
