Santa Barbara Chapel
In the 19th century, Spanish soldiers put their fate in the hands of Santa Barbara, Patron Saint of Artillerists.
During the United States bombardment of 1898, naval ships fired upon Fort San Cristobal and a projectile penetrated the wall above the statue but the shell failed to explode.
