perience. if possible, with cotton in

POST OF ASSISTANT COLONIAL EN-
GINEER, PUBLIC WORKS DEPART-
MENT, ST. LUCIA.

Applications are invited for the post of
Assistant Colonial Engineer, Public
Works Department, St. Lucia.
2. The Assistant Colonial Engineer
will be required to assist the Colonial En-
gineer and help in design and construc-
tion and maintenance of Public Works.


3. He will be subject to Her Majesty's
Colonial Regulations and to the General
Orders of the Colony.
4. The post, which is pensionable, car-
ries a salary scale of $2,880 x $120-$3,840.
5. A transport allowance is payable in
accordance with local regulations at the
current rate of $300 per annum basic al-
lowance plus mileage allowance of 12 for
every mile travelled on duty, and the offi-
cer will be required to keep a car for the
performance of his duties.
6. Subsistence allowance will be paid
In accordance with local regulations at
approved rates when travelling in the
Colony outside his station.
7. Quarters are not provided.
8. Free passages to St. Lucia for the
successful candidate, his wife and a maxi-
mum of 3 children will be provided.
9. Applicants should state :-
(a) Age.
(b) Qualifications.
(c) Nature of present and past
employment.
(d) Details of experience.
10. Applications which should be ac-
companied by two recent testimonials
and a medical certificate of fitness should
be dressedd to the Establishment Offi-
cer, Government Office, St. Lucia, to
reach him not later than 20th December,
1953.

Sessions will be held in the undermentioned Parishes for the purpose of hear-

certificates in accordance with the Liquor Licence Ordinance, 1948, at the times

CONTROL NOTICE.

TENDER FOR FLOUR.

Commission Agents are requested to submit to the Controller of Supplies, St.
Vincent, B.W.I., not later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 15th December, 1953, quotations
c.i.f. St. Vincent, B.W.I., including Agents' Commission, for:
4,000 cotton bags of 100 lb. each "E" Grade Flour, and
800 cotton bags of 100 lb. each Enriched E Grade Flour.
The E Grade Flour must be milled solely from Canadian Hard Spring Wheat
not lower in grade than No. 3 Northern and must be of the following minimum
standard :
Maximum Moisture 14-00%
Maximum Ash -52%
Minimum Protein 12-00%
The Enriched E Grade Flour is to be enriched in accordance with the
following :
Minimum Maximum
Thiamine 2-0 2.5 Milligrams for ea. lb. Flour
Riboflavine 1.2 1-5 "
Niacine 16-0 20.0 "
Iron 13-0 16-5 "
With Calcium Carbonate 500 600 "
The name of the miller, analysis of the flour, the enrichment standard and
the brand name should be stated in the tender. Chemist's certificate showing
analysis of the flour, and enrichment standard, and duly notarised must
accompany documents. The Controller, however, exercises the right to arrange
for samples to be drawn and analysed on his behalf.
Shipping documents must include date of shipment of all flour and in the case
of the "Enriched" Flour must also indicate that it is enriched, and "Vitamin
Enriched Flour must be stencilled on each bag.
Shipment must be made during the second half of January, 1954
The Controller of Supplies does not bind himself to purchase flour at the
lowest or any offer.

Short title. Thi Notice may be cited as the Prices Control
(Amendment No. 10) Notice.
2. Amendment. The prices set out hereunder are the Maximum prices
for which the articles enumerated may be sold in the Colony and the First Schedule
Part B of the Prices Control Order 1947 (S.R. & O. No. 25) is hereby amended by
deleting all the words, figures and symbols occurring in the columns opposite the
articles : "Kerosene-In cases," and substituting therefore the following
FIRST SCHEDULE-PART B.

STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS.

1953, No. 51.

S JUVENILES (COURTS) ORDER.

(b fazetted 8th December, 1953).

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Juveniles (Courts) Order,
1953.

2. Interpretation. In this Order-
"the Ordinance means the Juveniles Ordinance, 1952, (No. 20 of 1952).

3. Place of Sitting of Juvenile Courts. (1) Each of the buildings
in the First and Second Magisterial Districts of the Colony at present set aside for
use as Magistrates' Courts may be used for the holding of Juvenile Courts:
Provided that a Juvenile Court may adjourn its sitting to any other place including
a building not used as a Magistrate's Court where the circumstances of the case
render it expedient so to do.
(2) The times of sittings of Juvenile Courts shall be such as are fixed by the
Magistrate.

4. Assessors. The persons nominated by the Governor as assessors shall
be the persons whose names are notified in the Gazette as so nominated for the
purposes of the Ordinance.

5. Constitution of Juvenile Courts. There shall be established a
Juvenile Court for each of the First and Second Magisterial Districts of the Colony
constituted of a Magistrate and, subject to the proviso to section 5 of the
Ordinance, any one or more of the assessors nominated for the purpose in
accordance with the preceding paragraph of this Order.

Made by the Governor in Council under section 5 of the Juveniles Ordinance,
1952, (No. 20 of 1952) this 8th day of December, 1953.
