of State for the Colonies has notified that
Her Majesty the QUEEN will not be
advised to exercise her power of dis-
allowance in respect of the following
Ordinance of this Government:-


- A white flag with a black
centre will be flown from
all Police Stations.
Loudspeaker and radio an-
nouncements will be made.

- Church bells will ring for a
period of five minutes.
- A vhite flag with a black
centre will be flown from
the Police Barracks.
Loudspeaker and radio an-
nouncements will be made.
Three saluting guns will be
fired from the Police Bar-
racks.

- The Government Cotton Gin-
nery whistle and a siren
from the Police Barracks
will be blown for a period
of five minutes.

Notice is hereby given that in accord-
ance with No. 20 of 1949 of the Port
Elizabeth Town Board (Election of
Members) By-Laws the Warden will be
attending at the Warden's Office, Bequia,
on Thursday 24th September, 1953, be-
tween the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 noon
for the purpose of receiving nominations
for one candidate to fill the seat of Mr.
George W. Bennett, who has resigned.
Should a poll be required it will be
taken at the Warden's Office on Thurs-
day, 1st October, 1953, between the

CENTRAL WATER DISTRIBUTION
AUTHORITY.

NOTICE.

Attention is drawn to Sections 41 and
4(; (a) of the Central Water Distribution
Authority Ordinance, No. 12 of 1950,
which read as follows :-
"41. In the absence of any agree-
ment to the contrary, all water
supplied by the Central Authority
shall be deemed to have been
supplied for domestic use only,
and all water supplied to premises
by means of a service shall be
deemed to be supplied only for nor-
mal use in the premises in ques-
tion.
46. If any person-
(a) uses any water supplied to
any premises for any purpose or in
any manner not authorised by or
under this Ordinance or the re-
gulations thereunder, .

he and the occupier of the premises
(if he and the occupier are not the
same person) shall be guilty of a
continuing offence in respect of
each day or part of a day during
which the contravention continues
and shall be liable on summary
conviction to a fine of fifty dollars
in respect of the first day or part of
a day and to a fine of one dollar in
respect of each succeeding day or
partof aday ; and the contravention
on any number of consecutive days
or parts of days not exceeding one
hundred and fifty may be made the
subject of a single coniplaint and
prosecution. On the conviction of
any person for a contravention of
this section, the Court may direct
the forfeiture to the Crown of any
tap, pipe, fitting or other device
used in the contravention."
2. The Authority regards as illegal
the use of water for the cultivation of
vegetables or other produce for sale.
3. Consumers of water who are
serviced with a supply from the Central
Water Distribution Authority Main and
who use water in the manner described
in paragraph 2 above are asked to com-
municate this fact to the undersigned
immediately.

Park Experiment Station the following:

grapefruit plants at a price of 60 cents

1 barrow pig at $10.
The above animals are not yet three
months old. The price of these animals
increases to $15 at the age of 3 months.
6 Sheep, progeny of the Wiltshire
