DEATH OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN MARY.

The following reply from the Secretary of State for the Colonies
to the message transmitted by His Excellency, the Acting Governor, on
the death of Queen Mary is published for general information :-
I am commanded by the Queen to convey to you, the Governments
and people of the Windward Islands, Her Majesty's grateful thanks for
your kind message of sympathy on the death of Her Late Majesty
Queen Mary."

VISIT OF ACTING ADMINISTRATOR TO GRENADA.


His Honour CYPRIAN BERNARD GIBBS, Acting Administrator, St.,
Vincent, left the Colony by air for Grenada, on official business, at 9 a.m.
yesterday, 3rd April, 1953.

ACTING ADMINISTRATOR.

The Honourable KEITH HENNESSEY CONRAD ALLEYNE, Crown
Attorney, on the 3rd April, 1953, took the prescribed Oaths in accord-
ance with the provisions of Sub-section (2) of Article 7. of the Windward
Islands Letters Patent bearing date 27th August, 1951, and assumed the
Administration of the Government of St. Vincent consequent on the
departure on official business to Grenada of His Honour C. B. GIBBS,
Acting Administrator.
Mr. ALLEYNE will also perform the duties of his substantive post.
