POLICE WOMAN.

Applications are invited for the post
of Policewoman in the St. Vincent
Police Force.
The appointment would be on a tem-
porary basis in the first instance with
the possibility of permanency later.
Candidates, who should not be less
than 21 years of age and not less than 5' 7"


in height and be i), licailly fit, mustsub-
mit Applicationi Forms (obtainable at
Police Headquarters) to the Superinten-
(lent of Police before 10th April, 1953.
Nursing experience, a knowledge of
frst-aid, teaching, accounts or shorthand-
typing, will be considered as extra
qualifications.
The person appointed will be vested
with all the powers and authority of a
police constable and will be liable to
perform all the duties of a constable
and be subject to the same discipline.
The total emoluments of the tempor-
ary post will be at th" rate of $540 per
annum with free uniform.

CENTRAL WATER DISTRIBUTION
AUTHORITY.


RATES AND CHARGE.



The attention of persons indebted to
;he Central Water Distribution Authority
s drawn to Sections 33 to 35 of Ordinance
No. 12/50 which are quoted hereunder:

"33. (1) It shall be lawful for the Cen-
tral Authority to accept part payments
made by any person on account of the
total amount due by such persons in re-
spect of rates, charges, or sums due under
or by virtue of this ordinance or any reg-
ulations thereunder: Provided that no
sum of less than two dollars shall be ac-
cepted in part payment unless it be in
final settlement of the total amount due.

Any part payment may be appropri-
ated by the Central Authority to any of
the debts due to the Central Authority
by the person making the part payment.

(2) Nothing in this section shall pre-
judice any of the provisions of sections
34 and 35 of this Ordinance.

34. Any rate, charge or sum due and
payable under or by virtue of this Ordin-
ance or any regulations thereunder, if
unpaid at the expiration of three months
after the same shall have become due
and payable shall be increased at the
rate of six per centum: Provided that
it shall be lawful for the Central Author-
ity in any case in which it shall appear
to the Central Authority that there is
just cause for doing so, to rm=i such per-
centage increase in whole or in part.

35. (1) Any rate, charge, or sum due
and payable under or by virtue of this Or-
dinance or any regulations thereunder,
shall after the expiration of three months
from the time the same became due and
payable and until paid be a charge on the
premises upon and in respect whereof
such rate, charge, or sum is due and pay-
able; and, without prejudice to such
charge, and to the power of sale con-
ferred by the Land and House Tax Ordin-
ance, the amount of such rate, charge, or
sum of money together with the statu-
tory increase (if any), may be recovered
by the Central Authority as a civil debt
from the owner for the time being of
such premises by action in the Magis.

or amount, or by distress on any goods cI

(2) If any rate, charge, or sum due and
payable in respect of any premises by vir-
tue of this Ordinance or any regulations
thereunder remain unpaid after the ex-
piration of three months from the time
the same became due and payable, the
Central Authority may, without prejudice
to any other remedy available to the Cen-
tral Authority, cut off or disconnect the
service to such premises and keep it cut
off or disconnected so long as payment of
the amount due and of the cost of re-es-
tablishing the supply has not been
made."

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Sedition and Undesirable
Publications Order, 1953.

2. Importation of certain Publications Prohibited. From and
after the coming into force of this Order the importation of the publications
hereinafter enumerated and any past or future issues thereof is hereby prohibited:
"Caribbean News ";
All Dublications of the World Federation of Trade Unions;
"Soviet Weekly ";
"For a Lasting F'ace for a People's Democracy ";
"Thunder ";
"Torch ".


Made by the Governor in Council under Section 7 of the Sedition and
