ANNOUNCEMENT.
It is announced by the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Mr. OLIVER
LYTTELTON, that Her Majesty the Queen has been pleased to approve the ap-
p3iutment of Mr. EDWARD BETHAM BEETHAM, C.M.G., C.V.O., O.B.E.,
R sident Commissioner, Bechuanalibin Protectorate, as Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief of the Windward lIlands in succession to Sir IOBFi:'i'
ARUNDELL, K.C.M.G., O.B.E., hose appointment as Governor and Commanler-
in-Chief of Barbados was announced on 16th October, 1952.

VISIT OF ACTING GOVERNOR TO ST. LUCIA.
His Excellency WALTER FLEMING COUTTIS, M.B.E., Acting Governor
and Commander-in-Chief of the Windward Islands, paid an official visit to
St. Lucia on 21st January, 195i, and returned to St. Vincent on 23rd January,
1953, accompanied by his A.D.C.

DEPARTURE OF ACTING GOVERNOR FOR GRENADA.
His Excellency WALTER FLEMING COUTTS, M.B.E., Acting Governor
and Commander-in-Chief of the Windward Islands, left the Colony today for
Grenada by the C. N. S. Canadian Cruiser."
His lExoellency was accompanied by Mrs. COUTTS and children, and
his A.D.C.
