WELFARE OF COLONIAL STUDENTS
IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.

INTRODUCTION COURSES TO BE HELD
BY THE BRITISH COUNCIL FOR
NEWLY ARRIVED
STUDENTS.

The British Council Student Welfare
Department is again arranging Intro-
duction Courses for students arriving in
this country during August and S.piem-
ber.
Seven courses will be held between
the 22(d August and the 26th Septemr-
ber and a total of 150 places will be
available to Colonial sIcholars ;and stu-
dents. All the co ,rses will take plae
at King's College llospital, Chamnii (n
Hill, S.E.. where the stuientis will be
resident. Each curse will last one
week.
A charge of 3. 13s. (1i. will be made
to each student attending, which will
cover board, rent and tuition, ibut not
minor incidental expenses such as bus
fares which will total about 15/- a week.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1952.

In pursuance of the requirements of section 3 (2) (a) of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance, 1952, it is hereby notified for general information that the
Governor in Council proposes to make the undermentioned Order under section
3 (1) of the said Ordinance.
Any person who objects to the making of such Order shall give notice in
writing of his objection, and of the grounds on which he relies in support thereof,
to the Clerk to the Executive Council on or before the 19th day of June, 1952.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MANUFACTURE OF
FURNITURE) ORDER.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
,(Manufacture of Furniture) Order, 1952.

2. Declaration. The establishment, maintenance, and operation in the
Colony of the manufacturing plant for the manufacture of Furniture is hereby
declared to be a Pioneer Industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries
,Ordinance, 1952, and the said Furniture so manufactured is lhreby declared to be
a pioneer product for the said purposes.

Made by the Governor in Council under section 3 (1) of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance (No. 5 of 1952) this day of 1952.

1. Short title. This Notice may be cited as the Prices Control
(Amendment No. 17) Notice.
2. Amendment. The prices set out hereunder are the Maximum prices
for which the articles enumerated may be sold in the Colony and the First Schedule
-Part B to the Prices Control Order 1947 (S.R. & O. No. 25) is hereby amended by
deleting all the words, figures and symbols occurring in the columns opposite the
