AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT NOTICE.

RESTRICTION ON IMPORTS OF
COTTON.

Attention is drawn to the Plant Pro-
tection Ordinance No. 10 of 1941, under
which the Import into the Colony of
Saint Vincent of Cotton lint. Cotton
seed. Seed Cotton, and all unprocessed
raw cotton in pillows, mattresses, bags,
etc., other than manufactured goods is
STRICTLY PROHIBITED
These restrictions are in the interests
of the Cotton Industry of the colony
which is worth approximately 411ii.lf-1i
annually. Attempts to circumvent these
regulations by smuggling cotton into
the colony may ctau sseriouspests of the
cotton plant to be introduced, aind ruin
this vital industry.
Everyone is asked to cn-operate to the
fullest extnt with the Customs authori-
ties and th, D-partnmnt of Auriculture
by strict adherence to these Regulations.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1952.

In pursuance of the requirements of section 3 (2) (a) of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance, 1952, it is hereby notified for general information that the
Governor in Council proposes to make the undermentioned Order under section
3 (1) of the said Ordinance.
Any person who objects to the making of such Order shall give notice in
writing of his objection, and of the grounds on which he relies in support thereof,.
to the Clerk to the Executive Council on or before the 19th day of June, 1952.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MANUFACTURE OF
FURNITURE) ORDER.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Manufacture of Furniture) Order, 1952.

2. Declaration. The establishment, maintenance, and operation in the
Colony of the manufacturing plant for the manufacture of Furniture is hereby
declared to be a Pioneer Industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries
Ordinance, 1952, and the said Furniture so manufactured is hereby declared to be
a pioneer product for the said purposes.

Made by the Governor in Council under section 3 (1) of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance (No. 5 of 1952) this day of 1952.

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Agricultural Products Protection
Ordinance Cap 31.

[ 30th June, 1953. ]

Enacted by the Legislature of Saint Vincent.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Agricultural Products
Protection (Amendment) Ordinance, 1953, and shall be read as
one with the Agricultural Products Protection Ordinance
(hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance) and all
amendments thereto.

2. Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is hereby further
amended by the addition thereto of the following proviso :-
Provided further that the sum to be paid for every licence
valid only for the half year commencing the first day of July in
any year shall be one half of the respective sums prescribed in
subsection (2) of this section and in the preceding proviso."

PRICES CONTROL (AMENDMENT NO. 16) NOTICE.

(Gazetted 3rd June, 1952.)

1. Short title. This Notice should be cited as the Prices Control
(Amendment No. 16) Notice.
2. Amendment. The prices set out hereunder are the Maximum prices
for which the articles enumerated may be sold in the Colony and the First Schedule
-Part B to the Prices Control Order 1947 (S.R. & O. No. 25) is hereby amended by
deleting all the words, figucrs and symbols occurring in the columns opposite the
article : Rice (Demerara) Super and 2nd Quality," and substituting therefore the
following :
