VISIT TO WEST INDIES OF COLO-
NIAL OFFICE REPRESENTATIVE.

Lord MUNSTER, the Parliamentary
Under Secretary of State for the Colo-
nies, who has special responsibility in
Colonial Office for West Indian and
Caribbean matters,.. proposes to make a
short visit to the area to acquaint him-
self at first hand with local conditions.
Parliamentary and other business makes
it necessary for him to restrict his ab-
sence from the United Kingdom to two
months and he will not therefore be
able to visit all the Colonies in the area.
He proposes on this occasion to visit the
Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad, British
Guiana and Barbados. He will be ac-
companied by his private Secretary, Mr.
E. M. WEST of the Colonial Office. Mr
S. E. V. LUKE, Assistant Under Secre-
tary of State for the Colonies in the
charge of the West Indian Department
of the Colonial Office will accompany
him on his visit to the Bahamas and
Jamaica.

CAMDEN PARK EXPERIMENT
STATION.

The purebred French Canadian Stal-
lion 'Cembob' is now ready for service
at Camden Park. The animal whose
parents were imported from Canada
was bred in Antigua and imported into
St. Vincent at 9 months of age. He is
not yet mature but stands 15 hands in
height, is broader in chest and stronger
in quarter than local horses and is ideal-
ly suited for production of sturdy
estate horses. Price of a service is $10.

POST OF ASSISTANT COLONIAL
ENGINEER, PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT, ST. LUCIA.



Applications are invited for the
vacant post of Assistant Colonial Engi-
neer, Public Works Department, St.
Lucia.
The salary scale attached to the post,
which is pensionable, is $2400 x $120-
$2880 with a cost of living allowance at
the rate of $384 per annum.
This officer will be required to keep a
car for the performance of his official
duties and will be paid a basic travell-
ing allowance at the rate of $192 per
annum plus a mileage allowance of 10
cents for every mile travelled on duty.
A subsistence allowance will also be
paid at the approved rate when travell-
ing on station.
The Assistant Colonial Engineer will
be required to assist the Colonial Engi-
neer in his various official duties and
will be require to help in the design
and supervision of the construction of
roads ;anl bridges: the ,xecition of
schemes and the con-trnction and main-
tenance of Government buildings.
The appointment is subject to the
Colonial R-,gulations and RulIs and
Orders in force and local taxation.

cates with a cerifirca'e of Medical Fit-

In pursuance of the requirements of section 3 (2) (a) of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance, 1952, it is hereby notified for general information that the
Governor in Council proposes to make the undermentioned Order under section
3 (1) of the said Ordinance.
Any person who objects to the making of such Order shall give notice in
writing of his objection, and of the grounds on which he relies in support thereof,
to the Clerk to the Executive Council on or before the 31st day of March, 1952.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries

2. Declaration. The establishment, maintenance, and operation in the
Colony of manufacturing plant for the manufacture of Soft Drinks to be known
as "O-So GRAPE ", "O-So BEVERAGE ", and "IDEAL BEVERAGE is hereby
declared to be a pioneer industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries
Ordinance, 1952, and the said Drinks so manufactured are hereby declared to be
pioneer products for the said purposes.

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Teachers Pensions Ordinance, 1944.
[ 23rd June, 1953. 1

Enacted by the Legislature of Saint Vincent.


1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Teachers Pensions
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1953 and shall be read as one with the
Teachers Pensions Ordinance, 1944, (hereinafter referred to as the
principal Ordinance) and all amendments thereto.

2. Section 4 of the principal Ordinance as repealed and
replaced by section 3 of the Teachers Pensions (Amendment)
Ordinance, 1946, and as amended by section 2 of the Teachers
Pensions (Amendment No. 2) Ordinance, 1952, is hereby further
amended by substituting the figure (3) for the figure (2) "
appearing in the said amendment.

1. Short title. This Notice should be cited as the Prices Control
(Amendment No. 8) Notice.
