GOVERNMENT NOTICES.
No. 59.
DEATH OF HIS MAJESTY KING GEORGE VI.
It is with deep sorrow that the following telegram received today
from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, through His Excellency
the Governor of the Windward Islands, is published for general
information :-
"Profoundly regret to inform you that His Majesty King
GEORGE the Sixth passed away last night."
6th February, 1952.
No. 60.
All flags on all public buildings shall be flown at half mast to-day
and until the date of the funeral of the late KING, except on the date (to
be notified later) of the Proclamation of the Accession of the new Sover-
eign, when flags will be flown at all mastheads from 8 a.m. until sunset.
It is notified for general information tilhl all places of entertainment
shall be closed to-day, thereafter remaining open until the date (to be
notified later) of the funeral of the late KING, when they should be kept
closed until 6 p.m.
As a mark of respect to the memory of the departed Sovereign, all
public offices and schools have been ordered to be closed to-day.
Firms, Shopkeepers, etc. have also been requested'to close all places
of business to-day.
