NOTICE


In accordance with the provisions of sub-sectoin (2) of Section 3 of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance, 1952, notice is hereby given that subject to the consideration of any
objections which may be received by him pursuant to this Notice, the Governor proposes
under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the said Ordinance to make an Order in the form set
out in the Schedule hereto.
2. Any person who objects to the making of such Order is hereby invited to give notice
in writing of his objection and of the grounds on which he relies in support thereof, to the
Secretary to the Cabinet at the Premier's Office in Kingstown, on or before the 31st day of
July 1976.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries (Manufacture of
Mops and Brooms) Order, 1976.

2. Declaration. The establishment, maintenance and operation in the State of manufactur-
ing plhnt for the manufacture of mops and brooms is hereby declared to be a Pioneer Industry
for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries O r d in a n c e, 1952, and mops and brooms so
manufactured are declared to be pioneer products for the said purposes.

Made by Cabinet under section 3(1) of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952
(No. 5 of 1952) this day of 1976.

BackgroLund
The Development Corporation is actively in-
volved in the industrial development of the
St:ite. As such the Corporation finances local
small industry projects which involves exten-
sive technical assistance in setting up these
bn-iinesses. In addition the Corporation pro-
rritcs joi't ventures between foreign and local
manufaccturers and would assist foreign com-
panies in setting up businesses in the State.
Du ties
The Industrial Officer will be required to work
-long with Small Industry Loans Officer of the
Caribbclan Development Dank in the p-r-parationi


of appraisals and feasibility studies for new
small industry projects. After a project has
been approved, the Industrial Officer wi'l assist
the borrower in selecting a'nd ordering necessary
machiin'ry and equipment, and assist in the
setting up and initial operation of the factory..
Thy Industrial Officer will follow up new and
existing projects and assist the Corporadion in:
finding new. industries suitable for financingg
under the Small Industry Credit Scheme.
' The (nilu:;tril Officer will Work iln close col-
labor:iflon with the Ind'ustrial Extension Armn
of the Corporation, and advise on managcm,.en'
techniques and the setting up and maintenance
of an adequate accounting syst.-i in each
business.
Qualifications
A Ileore- or other" necentable oualificatiDn i;i
management, accounting, industrial c -i!i; i .g,
economics or other related discipline. Rei.vant
experience will be an asset.
Successful applicant must also po:;s:'s~s, oi
assumption of duties, a driving licence a:.i a
motor-car.
Salary.
Mli'niinm starting salary will be $650 per
month, but depending on the qualification an(l
experience of the successful applicant a highl:er
starting salary may be negotiated.
A travelling allowance of $G0 per monnth will
also be paid.

PUBLIC SERVICE AMENDMENT (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1976.


(Gazetted 13th July, 1976.)


1. Citation. The Regulations may be cited as the Public Service
Commission (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1976.
2. Amendment. The Public Service Commission Regulations 1969,
(S.R. & O. No. 48 of 1969) is amended as follows-
Section 36(1) (a) by the deletion of the words "over a period of five
years".


Made by the Public Service Commission, under the provisions of section
77(13) of the Saint Vincent Constitution Order, 1969.
