APPOINTMENTS


The Honourable the Chief Justice in pursu-
ance of Section 18 (1) (c) of the West Indies
Associated States Supreme Court Order 1967,
has appointed Mr. WILLIAM ADRIAN DATE to be
a member of the Judicial and Legal Services
Commission with effect from the 5th May, 1976.


The Honourable the Chief Justice in pursu-
ance of Section 18 (1) (d) of the West Indies
Associated States Supreme Court Order 1967,
has designated BERNARD JOSEPH COOLS-LARTIGUE
to be a member of the Judicial and Legal Ser-
vices Commission with effect from 5th May, 1976.


The Honourable the Chief Justice in pursu-
ance of Section 18 (1) (d) of the West Indies
Associated States Supreme Court Order 1967,
has designated Dr. NORMAN ATHILL to be a
member of the Judicial and Legal Services
Commission with effect from 5th May, 1976.

THE GAMBLING, LOTTERIES AND
BETTING ORDINANCE. 1968


Persons desirous of making application to
carry on the following:-
(a) business of receiving or negotiating bets
or conducting betting operation, or,
(b) by way of business in any manner to
receive or negotiate bets or conduct such
operations, or
(c) to operate a Pin Ball Machine are request-
ed to note that it is-necessary to obtain:
(a) a permit, and
(b) a licence

Application should be made on Fdrm 1, and
it will be necessary for the applicant to state in
the application the following information:-
(a) date of birth,
(b) office and usual place of residence
(e) place of residence during the past 5 years,
(d) that during the 12 months preceding the
date of the application, he has not been
refused the grant of renewal of such a
permit, and
(e) two references as to character.

-It should further be noted that in making an
application for. a licence, the applicant should
state:-
(a) that he is the holder of a permit, and
(b) submit a plan,. sufficient to show the lay-
out a'hd location of the said premises and
the means of access thereto.
In addition, the applicant should comply with
the following:--
(a) send copy of application to appropriate
Police Officer,


I IIsons wishing to object to the grant of a.
permit' ip respect of any premises should send
to aB Authority two copies of the grounds of:
objection, not later than ten days after publica-
tion of advertisement.

Forms of application pnay be obtained at the-
Inland Revenue Office or Police Headquarters.

BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE LAND
AND HOUSE TAX ORDINANCE

As a result of Act No. 6 of 1976, which-
amended the Land and House Tax Ordinance,.
it is hereby notified for general information that
payments of Land and House. Tax for the cur-
rent year will be received at the Land and House
Tax Office, Kingstown, and the Revenue Offices.
at Georgetown, Barrouallie, Bequia and Union
Island from 1st August to 30th September, 1076,
and at Sandy Bay, Colonarie, Biabou, Meso-
potamia, Layou and Chateaubelair on the fol-
lowing dates:-
Sandy Bay:. .13th August and 17th
September
Colonarie: Every Thursday during
the month of August and_
September
Biabou: 10th August and 13th
September
Mesopotamia:. 13th, 20th August and
10th, 24th September
Layou: 9th, 23sd. August and
13th, 20th September
Chateaubelair: .6th, 20th August, and
10th, 17th September.
Land and House Tax Bailiffs will attend at
the places beyond the Revenue<.Offices on the
above specified dates and defaulters should avail
themselves of the opportunity to have their-
arrears of taxes settled.

PRICE AND DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS (NO. 2) (AMENDMENT)
ORDER, 1976.


(Gazetted 25th May, 1976).

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Price and Distribution of
Goods (No. 2) (Amendment) Order, 1976, and shall be read as one with the
Price and Distribution of Goods Order, 1971 (No. 27 of 1971), hereinafter
referred to as the principal Order) and all amendments thereto.
2. Principal Order amended. The principal Order is hereby amended by
revoking that part of the Schedule relating to "Rice (Guyana) 1st Quality" and
replacing the same as follows-
