PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF IRRIGATION WORKS.


The Government of Barbados has received
a 19ap from the Caribbean Development Bank
utilizing, tJS4ID funds for the development
of an agricultural project which involves the
construction of an irrigation system, including
pumping stations, main supply lines, distribu-
tion lines and associated works.

It is intended that the proceeds of this loan
will be applied to payments under the contract
for whicl ,tis invitation 'is issued. Payments
by the Caribbean Development Bank or its
agent will be made on the basis of monthly
interim certificatestof payment' issued by Con-
sultii' Engineers.

the Govei~nment of Barbados accordingly
invites the submission of prequalification data
from, interested contractors in connection with
the. conatruetion of this proje~et
Prequalification data submitted for considera-
tion should include:
1.: :~ ; firm's eefiienpe and record on
similar job requirements.
2. The firm's criabilities 'd to size, effi-
ciency, management personnel, financial
situation.
3. The availability of equipment.

Only Contractors whose principal place of
business is in one of the member countries of


the Bank or the U.S.A. or any eligible country
can bid.

A list of the countries which are not eligible
is available at the Bank or the Ministry of
Agriculture.

Only Contractors who have prequalified
would be invited to bid.

Prequalification data should be forwarded in
scaled envelones and' addressed to the Chief
Agricultural Officer, Ministry of Agriculture,
Bridgetown, 1Barbados, and must arrive on or
before the 1st December, 1975.

A copy is to be forwarded to the Caribbean
Development Bank, P.O. Box 408, Barbados,
West Indies.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Barbados, in-
vites the suibmiission of prequalification data
from interested consulting engineers in con-
nection with the development of an irrigation
project' at Springhall, Barbados.

The scope of the engineering works include
hydo-:geological survey, the preparation of
appropriate designs for tpe irrigation system
including pumping stations, main supply lines
and distribution lines, associated vwith the
works, the preparation of specificaL :ons and con-
tract documents, the supervision and inspection
of' construction ,nd issuaiice of payment certifi-
cates.

Financing of the project will be undertaken
jointly by the Ministry ot Agriculture, Barba-
dos, and the Caribbean Developnient Bank,
utilising USAID funds.

Consideration is limited to Consultants whose
principal place of business is in one of the
