DEPARTMENTAL AND OTHER NOTICES

NOTICE

It has been observed by the Ministry of
Trade and Agriculture that in several instances
importers of goods under licence tend to order
such goods and then apply to the Ministry for
licences only when the goods have actually
arrived in the State.

The attention of the Mercantile Community
and the public at large is drawn to the stipu-
lations in S.R. & O. No. 5 of 1975-the Import
and Export (Control) Regulations 1975 where
it is an offence to import or export any goods
contrary to these Regulations.

The lists of goods under licence are set out
in Schedules I, II and III to the above refer-
enced Regulations and the public is hereby
notified that no application for import licences
will be entertained by the Ministry if the goods
have already arrived in the State before such
applications are made.
