IN THE MATTER OF THE'LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE, 1946.
(No. 22 of 1946).
(Under Section 4 of-the Ordinance)
WH&EAs it is enacted by Section 4 of the Land Acqusition Ordinance
(No. 22 of 1946) that if the Governor considers 'that any land- may be required
for a public purpose and it is necessary to make a preliminary survey or other
investigations ,of the land, he may cause a notification to that effect to be pub-
lished in the Gazette:
AND WHEREAS the Governor considers that a portion of land approximately
6 acres in extent at Mayreau in the Parish of 'Genadines being the property
said to belong to Heirs of BEATRICE- ALEXANDRINE EUSTACE is likely to be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, the housing problems of the present

AND WHURBAS it is necessary to make a preliminary survey of the said
portion of land;
Now THEREFORE, this is to require all persons interested to allow the
Authorised Officer (and his agents, assistants and workmen):
(a) to enter upon and survey and take levels of any land in any locality to
which the notification relates-;
(b) to dig or bore into the sub-soil of such land;
(e) to do all other acts necessary to ascertain whether the land is adapted
to guch purpose;
(d) to set out the boundaries of the land intended to be taken, and tlhe
intended line of the work, if any, proposed to be done thereon;
(e) to mark levels and lines by placing marks and cutting trenches;
(f) where otherwise the survey cannot be completed, the levels taken or the
boundaries or line of work set out, 'to cut down and clear away any
standing crop, fence, tree or bush;
(b) to do all such other acts as may be incidental to, or necessary for, any
of the purposes aforesaid:

All that lot piece or parcel of land situated at Mayreau in the Grenadines
containing approximately six acres and bounded as follows: North, South,
East and West by the lands of the Heirs of BEATRICE ALEXANDRINE EUSTACE
-and includes all the lands surrounding the Government Primary School at
Mayreau together with the lands South of the said School and being"equal in
-extent on both ides of an existing track commonly used as a road from the
beach to the Se ool and environs.

LOCAL AUTHORITIES (TERMINATION OF OFFICE OF
COMMISSIONERS AND ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW LOCAL
AUTHORITIES) ORDER, 1974.
(Gazetted 11th November, 1974).
1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (termin-
ation of office of Commissioners and Establishment of New Local Authorities)
2. Termination of Office of Commissioners. The Office of all the Com-
missioners appointed in accordance with the Local Authorities (Dissolution
and Commissioners) Order, 1973 (S.R.O. No. 6 of 1973) for each local authority
named therein shall terminate on the 31st day of December, 1974.
3. Constitution of New Local Authorities. New Local Authorities shall
be constituted in accordance with the orders hereunder.
4. Transitional. Election of members for each local authority which had
been dissolved under the Local Authorities (Dissolution and Continuance)
Order, 1973 shall be held in accordance with the By-Laws for that local
authority relating to election of members:
Provided that in respect of the year 1974, the Commissioner for
each local authority shall perform all the duties of that'local authority
under the By-Laws relating to election of members of that authority;,.
and in particular the duties under the By-Laws relating to the pre-
paration for and the conduct of elections:
Provided further that in respect of the year 1974, elections may
be held on any day in December except Saturday and Sunday, but
the required notices as required by the respective By-Laws shall ye
given at least 14 days before nomination day, and elections shajYbe
held on the same day of the following week of nodrinatlon :tiyl.
Made by the Governor under Section 32 of the Local Governuienit Ordi-
nance, 1951 and Sections 2 and 3 of the Local Authorities (Continuance of
Dissolution), Act, 1973. (Act No. 26 of 1973).

Made also, to such extent as is necessary and relevant, by the Commis-
sioner for each local authority concerned, under section 56(1)(a) of the
Local Government Ordinance, 1951, and confirmed by the Governor under
section 56(4) of the said Ordinance this 11th day of November, 1974.
