POST OF LEGAL ASSISTANT, LEGAL
DEPARTMENT, ST. VINCENT

Applications are invited from- suitably
qualified persons for the Vacant post of
Legal Assistant, Legal Department, St.
Vincent.
The basie qualifications required is
that of a Barrister-at-law. The post is
pensionable and the salary scale attach-
ing to it is $6,300 X $300-$6,600 X
$360-$8,400/$8,760 X $480-$10,200
and. the point of entry will be deter-
mined by qualifications and experience.
A travelling allowance is payable, but
quarters. are not provided. Private
practice is not allowed.
Appointment to the post may be on
a permanent. pensionable basis or on
contract. If on contract a gratuity of
25% of earned salary is payable on
completion.

required to:-
(a) assist- the Attorney General in
conducting cases in the Criminal
and Civil Courts of the State;
(b) give legal advice to Government
under the general direction of
the .Attorney General;
(c) draft or assist in drafting legis-
lation and legal instruments.
(d) be Additional Magistrate for St.
Vincent;
(e) perform such other duties and
render such further assistance as
the Attorney General may.direct.

of qualifications, two (2) recent testi-

NOTICE


The Judicial and Legal Services
Commission announces the appointment
of Mr. ROBERT ARCHIBALD NEDD to be
a Puisne Judge of the High Court of
Justice. Mr. Justice NEDD has been
assigned to the State of Antigua.

DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION


Applications are invited for the
following posts:-

(1) ECONOMIST

Duties:

The Economist will be required to
administer selected CDB and other loan
schemes and development projects, to
undertake market analyses and pro-
jections for potential projects, to
identify and access the economic
benefits of industrial and tourism pro-
jects, to prepare promotion brochures,
to assist in the formuilatioh of the
terms and conditions of loans alnd leases,
and to perform other related duties
assigned from time to time.

Qualification and Experience:

A degree in Economics. Any other
degree or professional qualification in
a field related to the fore-mentioned
duties may, at the discretion of the
Board of Directors of the Development
Corporation, be considered the equiva-
-lent of a degree in Economics. A
knowledge of project appraisal tech-
niques, development economics. -and
land development will be an asset.


Salary: -
SMinimu'm: $8,400 per annum.
Depending on qualification and experi-
ence the successful applicant may be
appointed above the minimum.
(2) ACCOUNTANT/STATISTICAL CLERK
Duties:
The Accounting/Statistical Clerk
will'be required to prepare monthly
accounts, to collect and compile statisti-
cal data relating for example to external
trade, domestic production and domestic
consumption, and to perform any other
related duties assigned from time to
time.
Qualification:
Three G.C.E. Ordinary Level subjects
i n c u d i i g Mathematics or English.
Pr~Tfrence will be given to applicants
with qualifications in Mathematics.
Ability to type will be. an asset.
Applicants should have at least two
years post graduate experience.
Salary:
Mininmunm: $2,400 per annum.
Depending on qualification and experi-
ence the successful applicant may be
appointed above the minimum.-
