VACANT POST OF DEPUTY CHIEF
ENGINEER, MINISTRY OF COMMUNICA-
TIONS & WORKS, ST. VINCENT


Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for the post of Deputy
Chief Engineer in the Public Works
Department of. the Ministry of Com-
munications & Works, St. Vincent.

Salary: The salary of the post is
fixed at $11,400 per annum in the scale
V 4. The post is a new one and will be
made pensionable in due course.

Duties: The Deputy Chief-Engineer
will be, required to act executively for
the Chief Engineer on the design, con-
struction and maintenance on roads,
airfields, buildings and structures and


probationary period of one year, if his.
,appointment is on a permanent and
pensionable basis. He may also be
appointed on a three-year contract. The
salary of the post is subject to review
periodically together with other public-
service salaries and is not negotiable.

DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF
ST. VINCENT.
LEASE OF WATERFRONT
RECLAMATION SITES.


Sltes on the reclaimed foreshore la nd
in Kingstown are now available for
lease on the following broad terms and
conditions:-

(i) The uses to which the sites are
put shall be in accordance with
the Final Physical Plan for the
area;

(2) The leases will be for a maxi-
mum period of fifty years and
-will not in any ease extend
beyond th(' year 2024;

(3) Rents will be reviewahle every
ten years, so that there will be
five rent review intervals in a
fifty-year lease ;

(4) Leases, to be paid for in respect
if each ten-year rent review
interval, may be paid for by
preferably a single preminmi
at -the commlencementi of the
rent review interval (at the
commencement of the lease ;n
the ease of the first interval),
or by annual rentals, or by a
combination of annual rentals
and premium;


(5) For leases taken in 1974, pay-
,iensts per square foot, if made
by a single premium will be
the sum of $1.00 per year and,
if made by annual rentals, will
be $1.43 per year;

(6) Payments for leases taken
after 1974 will be higher, than
those for leases taken in 1974;

(7) Rent reviews will be based on
71,,'4/ of the market valuation,
at the time of the review, .on
.comparable neighboring land,
and such market valuation will,
if desired by the leasee, be de-
termined by arbitration; and

(8) Prospective lessees must enter
into a lease agreement with
the Corporation.

that the Field Combletion for a new
map series at 1 :2,50() is being done and
is likely to continue for the rest of the
year.

The areas being done are:
1. The coastal strip from Diamond
(Lower) to Questelles. This strip
averages (4) four miles inland.
2. The Grenadine Islands.

The work involves measuring the
external dimensions of buildings and
picking up all physical features such as
fences, walls, roads. etc. No'individual
boundaries are being surveyed.

We therefore look forward to your
eo-operation which would greatly
enhance the pi-oject.
