INCOME TAX NOTICES

TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Every person, not being an employed
person is hereby reminded that the
latest date for the submission of Income
Tax Returns for Assessment in the
year 1974 is 31st March, 1974, and that
failure to give notice of chargeability
is an offence against the Income Tax


Ordinance rendering the person con-
cerned liable on summary conviction
to a penalty not exceeding ONE.
THOUSAND DOLLARS and in default
of payment to imprisonment with or
without hard labour for a term not
exceeding four months, and after-
judgement has been given for that
penalty to a further penalty of fifty
dollars for every day during which the
refusal, failure or neglect to render-
any document continues.
2. EVERY PERSON whose income-
accruing in, derived from the State or
elsewhere and whether received in the
State or not for the preceding year is-
required to submit a return in the
prescribed form notwithstanding that
on account of approved deductions no
tax may eventually be chargeable, and
particular attention is directed to the
fact that the term "income" is deemed
to include not only money but also-
allowances in kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons. It is to be
clearly understood, however, that the,
Income Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to
anyone and that a person is not exon-
erated from the statutory liability of
making a return even though a form
may not have been received from the-
Department.
Forms may be obtained, on applica--
tion. at the Revenue Offices at George--
town, Barrouallie, Bequia and Union
Island, or in any other district from the
Police Station situated therein or from
the Income Tax Department, Kings-
town, where any person requiring in-
formation in connection therewith is-
invited to inquire.
4. The form correctly completed
should be accompanied by all necessary-
statements. Specimens of the form'
of account required from small traders
and from occupiers or cultivators of"
land will be supplied on request.

will enter Victoria Park by way of North River Road and Peebles Bridge.
Exit will be by way of Bentinck Square and Road to Leeward.



MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH, 1974

Permission is hereby granted by the Commissioner of Police for bands to
perform through the streets of Kingstown on Monday, 25th February, 1974,
between the hours of 3.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. These bands will confirm to a
system of One-way traffic which has been arranged.



TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH, 1974

Permission is hereby granted by the Commissioner of Police for bands to-
perform through the streets of Kingstown during Carnival Tuesday, 26th Feb-
ruary, 1974, between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. These bands will
confirm to a system of one-way traffic which has been arranged.

MOTOR VEHICLES-ENTRY AND EXIT-VICTORIA PARK

Vehicles will enter Victoria Park by way of Bentinck Square.
Exit will be by way of Peebles bridge and Fernside Road.
Vehicles travelling from the Leeward Highway to Victoria Park will con-
tinue straight along Hospital Road (North to South) turn left into Tyrrell
Street and left into Bentinck Square.


PARKING ARRANGEMENTS

Buses and Trucks carrying Advertising Bands will enter through the south-
ern gate, drop performers and exit through the eastern gate or as directed by
Police.
Leeward buses will park on the open space behind the General Hospital
Annexe.
Windward buses will park on the parking lot outside Memorial Hall and
on Richmond Hill School grounds.

Taxis which usually park on the stand on Hillsboro Street will park on the
Stand on the Eastern side of the Court House.
Buses and Trucks from the Windward area will not be permitted to proceed
further than the Memorial Hall.
Buses and Trucks from the Leeward area will not be permitted to proceed
further than the corner of Bentinck Square and Tyrrell Street. (That is by
the Cooperative Gas Station).


PARKING PROHIBITED-KINGSTOWN PARK/MC.KrES HILL ROAD/
SIARPE STREET AND TYRRELL STREET.

VEHICLES PROHIBITED

Between the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. the following streets will be
closc l to all vehicular traffic:-

1. TYRRELL STREET-between Mc.Coy Street and Bentinck Square.

2. GRENVILLE STREET-between North River Road and Paul's Lot Road
(Marshall's Corner).

3. HALIFAX STREET AND GRANBY STREET (Back Street)-between
Hillsboro Street (U.T.L. Corner) and Forester's Corner.

4. BAY STREET-between James Street and Higginson Street.

5. ALL CROSS STREETS-between James Street and Higginson Street.

6. NORTH RIVER ROAD-between Grenville Street and Peebles Bridge.

BANDS ONLY WILL BE PERMITTED ALONG THESE STREETS
DURING THE PERIOD STATED.


ONE-WAY TRAFFIC-VEHICLES ONLY

Between the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. the following roads will be
ONE-WAY DRIVE for vehicles:-

the Girls' Guides Hut and top of Mc.Kies Hill (Near N. S. Cummings
Residence) WEST TO EAST)
