PRICE AND DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974.

(Gazetted 1st February, .1974).

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Price and Distribution
of Goods (No. 1) (Amendment) Order, 1974, and shall be read as one with
the Price and Distribution of Goods (No. 2) Order, 1971 (S.R. & O. No. 27
of 1971) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order) and all amendments
thereto.
2. Principal Order amended. The principal Order is hereby amended
'by revoking that part of the Schedule relating to "Cooking Oil" and replacing
the same as follows:-

1974, No. 3.


IMPORT AND EXPORT (CONTROL) REGULATIONS, 1974


(Gazetted 1st February, 1974.)


1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Impoit and Export
(Control) Regulations, 1974.
2. Absolute Prohibition. The importation of any of the goods listed
in the First Schedule hereto is prohibited, regardless of their place of origin.
3. Restricted Prohibition: The importation of any of the goods listed
in the Second Schedule hereto is prohibited, except from any of the places
within the trading association known as "CARIFTA," or from any of the
places within the Caribbean Community, known as "CARICOM".
4. Import Licence. The importation of any of the goods listed in the
Third Schedule hereto is prohibited except under licence from the Comptroller
of Supplies. ERS/
5. Export Licence. The exportation o ayb listed in the

6. Offence. It shall be an offence to rt or export any gouds contrary
to these Regulations. 00
7. Penalties. Any person Fguilty of a I ce Qder u Regulations
shall be liable on summary conviction to im IagQ m not exceed-
ing three months, or to a fine not exceeding f f flars, or to both
such imprisonment and such fine, and any goo::s ject matter of the
offence shall be forfeited to the Crown.
8. Offences by Company. Where any offence under these Regulations is
committed by a company or firm or other association of individuals, every
director and officer of the company, every partner and officer of the firm or
every member and every person concerned in the management of the affairs
of such associations as the case may be, shall jointly or severally be liable
to be prosecuted and punished for the offence in like manner as if he had

himself committed the offence, unless, the burden of proving which shall lie
on him, the act of omission constituting the offence took place without his
knowledge, consent or connivance.

9. Definition. In the schedules to these Regulations, the words, letters,
figures, numbers and symbols used to name, describe and identify goods, shall
all have the same meaning as in the First Sichodule to the Customs Duties
Ordinance (Cap. 184 as amended): provided that where "Ex" precedes a
tariff number, only the goods actually named beside that tariff number are
referred to, and not the general class of goods otherwise identified by that
tariff number.

10. Transitional. The Minhster responsible for Trade may in his discre-
tion permit the importation of any goods mentioned in these Regulations if
(a) an application in that respect is made to him within 14 days after
the publication of there Regulations, and
(b) he is satisled that such goods were ordered before the publication
of these Regulations, and that such order could not have been
cancelled after the publication of these Regulations.


FIRST SCHEDULE
(Regulation 2)

honey, eggs, fats, cheese or fruit.

20.01 Vegetables and fruit, prepared or preserved by vinegar or acetic
acid, with or without sugar, whether or not containing salt,
spices or mustard except mushrooms, whether or not in airtight
containers.
20.02 Vegetables prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or
acetic acid except olives and capers, whether or not in airtight
containers.

21.05 Soups and broths, in liquid, solid or powder form except homo-
genised composite food preparations.

Ex. 07.02.11 Motor cars (including station wagons etc.) of an engine capacity
exceeding 1600 cc.
94.01 Chairs and other seats (other than those falling within 94.02),
