on-the-job instruction. Success
in the Final Examination will
qualify students for registra-

pensers.

Salary:
The Salary Scale is V38-29

CADET PUBLIC HEALTH INSPECTORS


Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for the posts of
five (5) Cadet Public Health Inspectors,
in the Medical Department, Ministry
of Health, Housing and Local Govern-
ment, St. Vincent.


Qualifications:
Candidates should have passed
3 subjects at G.C.E. O'Level
(or its equivalent) including
English Language and Health
Science.
Duties:
The Cadet will be under direct
supervision of the Public
Health Superintendent, and
will be afforded the oppor-
tunity for further training
leading to the certificate of the
Royal Society for the Promo-
tion of Health.

Salary:
The Salary Scale is V39-20-
$1,800 X $120-$2,520 X $180-$3,600
X $240- $4,800.

of qualifications, should be addressed

Education, Community Development

Applications are invited from suit-
,ably qualified persons for appointment
to the post of Sports Officer, Ministry
of Education, Community Development
and Youth Affairs.
Applicants should have sound educa-
tional background, and preference will
be given to candidates who show an
involvement in sport generally.
The post is .pensionable and carries a
salary in the scale V26--17, i.e. $3600 X
$240 $4800 X $300 $6000. A
Transport Allowance is also payable.
The Officer will be required to
organize all forms of sporting activities
in the State, to work closely with sports
elubs and allied groups in the various.
communities in formulating their pro-
gramme.
He will also be expected to advise
the Ministry of Education on matters.
relating to sport, to assist the various
National Sports Associations and the
National Sports Council, and to bmder-
take such other duties relaftf to any or
all of the above 'as may be neoesary..

UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE
LOCAL EXAMINATIONS SYNDICATE
GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF
EDUCATION, 1974.

The General Certificate of Education
Examination of Cambridge University
will be held in St. Vincent from 3rd
June to 28th June, 1974.
The fees to be paid into the Treasury
are:
(i) Entry Fee to be paid
by each candidate 2.25
(ii) Subject Fee for each
subject offered at
Ordinary Level 1.15
(iii) Subjict Fee for each
subject off ered at
Advanced Level 2.25
(iv) Local Fee for each
O'Level Candidate $4.00 E.C.
(v) Local Fee for each
A'Level Candidate $6.00 E.C.
There will be a special local fee to
cover the cost of arrangements for oral
and practical examinations.
Private candidates who passed the
qualifying tests held in December 1973
will be accepted to write O'Level
subjects.
Private candidates will be accepted
for A'Level subjects on the recommend-
ation of the Extra Mural Department
Tutors provided that such candidates
have previously passed on one and the
same occasion in at least three subjects
at O'Level.


Completed entry forms together with
Fees receipts, must be returned to the
Local Secretary, Ministry of Education,
Community Development and Youth
Affairs not later than Wednesday 23rd
January, 1974.

Indies Associated States in its
CRIMINAL JURISDICTION will be
held at the Court House, Kingstown,
on Tuesday 5th February, 1974, at
10 o'clock in the forenoon and con-
tinuing.

ALL parties concerned, also such
persons as are bound over by recogni-
zance to prosecute, answer charges or
give evidence or summoned as Jurors
or witnesses, are hereby commanded to
give their personal attention and
attendance.

INCOME TAX NOTICES
TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Every person, not being an employed
person, is hereby reminded that the
latest date for the submission of Income
Tax Returns for Assessment in the
year 1974 is 31st March, 1974, and that
failure to give notice of chargeability
is an offence against the Income Tax
Ordinance rendering the person con-
cerned liable on summary conviction
to a penalty not exceeding ONE
THOUSAND DOLLARS and in default
of payment to imprisonment with or
without hard labour for a term not
exceeding four months, and after

judgement has been given for that
penalty to a further penalty of fifty
dollars for every day during which the
refusal, failure or neglect to render
any document continues.
2. EVERY PERSON whose income
accruing in, derived from the State or
elsewhere and whether received in the
State or not for the preceding year is
required to submit a return in the
prescribed form notwithstanding that
on account of approved deductions no
tax may eventually be chargeable, and
particular attention is directed to the
fact that the term "income" is deemed
to include not only money but also
allowances in kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons. It is to be
clearly understood, however, that the
Income Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to
anyone and that a person is not exon-
erated from the statutory liability of
making a return even though a form
may not have been received from the
Department.
Forms may be obtained, on applica-
tion, at the Revenue Offices at George-
town, Barrouallie, Bequia and Union
Island, or in any other district from the
Police Station situated therein or from
the Income Tax Department, Kings-
town, where any person requiring in-
formation in connection therewith is
invited to inquire.
4. The form correctly completed
should be accompanied by all necessary
statements. Specimens of the form
of account required from small traders
and from occupiers or cultivators of
land will be supplied on request.
