VENEZUELAN REPRESENTATION IN THE
WEST INDIES ASSOCIATED STATES

It is notified for general information
that the office of Honorary Venezuelan
Consulate-General, St. Lucia has been
upgraded to that of Career Consulate-
General, St. Lucia.
The present Honorary Consul-General,
Mr. J. A. DEVEER has been appointed as
Career Consul.
The Consular District will comprise
all the West Indies Associated States,
Montserrat and the Britiish Virgin
Islands.

Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the post of Sports Officer, Ministry
of Education, Community Development
and Youth Affairs.
Applicants should have sound educa-
tional background, and preference will
be given to candidates who show an
involvement in sport generally.
The post is pensionable and carries a
salary in the scale V26-17, i.e. $3600 X
$240 $4800 X $300 $6000. A
Transport Allowance is also payable.
The Officer will be required to
organize all forms of sporting activities
in the State, to work closely with sports
clubs and allied groups in the various
communities in formulating their pro-
gramme.
He will also be expected to advise
the Ministry of Education on matters
relating to sport, to assist the various
National Sports Associations and the
National Sports Council, and to under-
take such other duties related to any or
all of the above as may be necessary.

SCHOOL, MINISTRY OF EDUCATION,
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND
YOUTH AFFAIRS.


Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
vacant permanent and pensionable post
of Specialist Teacher, Commercial Sub-
jects, Girls' High School, Ministry of
Education, Community Development
and Youth Affairs.

The duties of the post include:--
(1) teaching Commerce, Principles of
Accounts, Shorthand and Typing
to G.C.E. Ordinary Level stand-
ard and to R.S.A. Examination
Grade III Standard;
(2) responsibility for all equipment
used in classes.

Ability to teach other subjects will be
an asset.

The salary attached to the post is in
the scale $2880 X $180 $3600 X $240
$4800 X $300 $5100/000/$5400 X
$300 $6600 X $360 $6960. The
point at which the successful candidate
will be appointed will depend on the
qualifications and experience he/she
possesses.

testimonials and photostatic copies of

Entry Forms for the above Examina-
tion may be obtained from the Ministry
of Education, Kingstown.
Applicants for Ordinary Level will
normally be required to offer those
subjects only for which they were recom-
mended at the last qualifying tests held
by the Department of Education.
Candidates will be accepted for
Advanced Level subjects on the recom-
mcendalion of their tutors.
The Fees which should be paid into the
Treasury are as follows:-
(1) Initial Entry Fee to
be paid by the

INCOME TAX NOTICES
TO TIE GENERAL PUBLIC

Every person, not being an employed
person, is hereby reminded that the
latest date for the submission of Income
Tax Returns for Assessment in the
year 1974 is 31st March, 1974, and that
failure to give notice of chargeability
is an offence against the Income Tax
Ordinance rendering the person con-
cerned liable on summary conviction
to a penalty not exceeding ONE
THOUSAND DOLLARS and in default
of payment to imprisonment with or
without hard labour for a term not
exceeding four months, and after
judgement has been given for that
penalty to a further penalty of fifty
dollars for every day during which the
refusal, failure or neglect to render
any document continues.
2. EVERY PERSON whose income
accruing in, derived from the State or
elsewhere and whether received in the
State or not for the preceding year is
required to submit a return in the
prescribed form notwithstanding that
on account of approved deductions no
tax may eventually be chargeable, and
particular attention is directed to the
fact that the term "income" is deemed
to include not only money but also
allowances in kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons. It is to be
clearly understood, however, that the
Income Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to
anyone and that a person is not exon-
erated from the statutory liability of
making a return even though a form
may not have been received from the
Department.
Forms may be obtained, on applica-
tion, at the Revenue Offices at George-
town, Barrouallie, Bequia and Union
Island, or in any other district from the
Police Station situated therein or from
the Income Tax Department, Kings-
town, where any person requiring in-
formation in connection therewith is
invited to inquire.
4. The form correctly completed
should be accompanied by all necessary
statements. Specimens of the form
of account required from small traders
and from occupiers or cultivators of
land will be supplied on request.

4. Where officers are in receipt of
income other than salaries the form
should include particulars thereof and
should be accompanied by the necessary
supporting statements.

AID TO PIOIEER INDUSTRIES (ST. VINCENT PACKERS
LIMITED) (MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS AND PROCESSING
AND PACKAGING) (AMENDMENT) ORDER.

(Gazetted 15th January, 1974)

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(St., Vincent Packers Limited) (Meat and Meat Products Processing and
Packaging) (Amendment) Order, 1974, and shall be read as one with the Aid
to Pioneer Industries (St. Vincent Packers Limited) (Meat and Meat Products
Processing, and Packaging) Order, 1972 (S.R. & O. No. 33 of 1972) heieinafter
referred to as the principal Order.
2. Principal Order amended. The principal Order is hereby amended.
by deleting the word "Peinbroke" appearing at the end of paragraph 2 thereof
and substituting the word "Peniston."


3. Cancellation and replacement. Paragraph
is cancelled and replaced with the following:-

4. Production Day. Production Day shall be 1st July, 1974.
