Post of Sports Officer, Ministry of
Education, Community Development
and Youth Affairs.

Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the post of Sports Officer, Ministry
of Education, Community Development
and Youth Affairs.
Applicants should have sound educa-
tional background, and preference will
be given to candidates who show an
involvement in sport generally.
The post is pensionable and carries a
salary in the scale V26-17, i.e. $3600 X
$240 $4800 X $300 $6000. A
Transport Allowance is also payable.
The Officer will be required to
organize all forms of sporting activities
in the State, to work closely with sports
clubs and allied groups in the various
communities in formulating their pro-
gramme.
He will also be expected to advise
the Ministry of Education on matters
relating to sport, to assist the various
National Sports Associations and the
National Sports Council, and to under-
take such other duties related to any or
all of the above as may be necessary.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND
YOUTH AFFAIRS.


Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
vacant permanent and pensionable post
of Specialist Teacher, Commercial Sub-
jects, Girls' High School, Ministry of
Education, Community Development
and Youth Affairs.

The duties of the post includes:-
(1) teaching Commerce, Principles of
Accounts, Shorthand and Typing
to G.C.E. Ordinary Level stand-
ard and to R.S.A. Examination
Grade III Standard;
(2) responsibility for all equipment
used in classes.

Ability to teach other subjects will be
an asset.

The salary attached to the post is in
the scale $2880 X $180 $3600 X $240
- $4800 X $300 $5100/000/$5400 X
$300 $6600 X $360 $6960. The
point at which the successful candidate
will be appointed will depend on the
qualifications and experience he/she
possesses.

Applicants for Ordinary Level will
normally be required to offer those
subjects only for which they were recom-
mended at the last qualifying tests held
by the Department of Education.
Candidates will be rc3cepted for
Advanced Level subjects on the recom-
menation of their tutors.
The Fees which should be paid into the
Treasury are as follows:-

POLICE NOTICE

Under the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance 1940 No. 20

To the General Public and Motorists
in particular.
Notice is hereby given that a pro-
gramme of work will be continuing
on the Streets of Kingstown by the
Government of Saint Vincent, (Kings-
town Sewerage Scheme Contractors)
during the months of January and
February, 1974.
The work is due to re-commence in
Paul's Lot area on 7th January, 1974
and as a result the movement of vehicu-
lar traffic will be restricted in the
following areas:-
Location of Areas
(1) Pauls Lot-The Street between
the corner at C.D.C. gate and


the Street junction near to
Corny Padmore's parlour West
to the Prison.
(2) Bay Street from the junction of
Melville Street to Queen Street.
(3) Melville Street, from Bay Street
to Long Layne Lower.
(4) Higginson Street, from Bay
Street to Long Layne Lower.

Traffic Signs will be posted up to
indicate the actual area of the Street
when Operations are in progress.

Motorists are advised to avoid these
Streets when possible, and to comply
with the Traffic Signs.
