POST OF DIRECTOR OF CULTRUE,
MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT AND YOUTH AFFAIRS,
ST. VINCENT.

Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the new post of Director of Culture
in the Ministry of Education, Com-
munity De ve 1 opment and Youth
Affairs.
Applicants should have experience
in the broad fields of Art, Literature,
Dance, Drama and Music and should be
able to show proof of active involve-
ment in some of these fields. A degree
in a related field from a reputable
University will be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be
required to develop and harmonise the
various creative and performing arts
in St. Vincent and to work in close co-
operation with existing cultural groups.
The salary of the post will be in the
scale V6 at the flat rate of $10,200 per
annum. The post is at present not
pensionable but steps may be taken to
make it so. Appointment on contract
for not less than three (3) years will
also be considered in which event a
gratuity of 25% of salary will be pay-
able. If the successful applicant is
recruited from outside St. Vincent
arrangements will be made for payment
of passages for the appointee, his wife
and children not exceeding three if
they accompany him or follow him
within twelve months.

recent testimonials should be submitted
so as to reach the Chief Personnel
Officer, Service Commissions Depart-
ment, Kingstown, St. Vincent, not later
than 31st May, 1973.

PREMIER'S OFFICE


Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
as Prison Officers in the St. Vincent
Prison Service.
Candidates should be between the
ages of 23 and 35 years, should be at
least 5 ft. 9 inches in height with chest
at least 36 inches (expanded) and
should have attained the Primary
School Leaving Certificate. Persons
possessing subjects at G.C.E. '0' Level
or its equivalent will be an asset.


Applications must be accompanied
by at least three (3) testimonials, one
of which should be from present or
last employer.
Salary will be in the scale:-
$2,400 x $120-$2,520 x $180-$3,600 x
$240-$4,080.

for a probationary period of two (2)
years in the first instance.
Salary:
Salary will be in the scale V40-20'
$1,680 x $60-$1.800 x $120-2,520 x
$180-$3,600/$3,840 x $240-$4,800 x
$300-$5,100.
Incremental credit will be granted
for relevant G.C.E. Subjects.
